Whats with the none disappearing enemies??

While I'm playing the game, I've noticed that the enemies, once dead, don't disappear as they should. I then get a build up of dead enemies on my screen, and the game gets dead slow and laggy!!!Its really annoying.

Is there anyone else this has happened to and is there anyway to stop this from happening??
