Does it also say something about closed beta? If so, you have a severly outdated (and useless) client.
If that's the case you will need to go to the download section and DL the new Open Beta client to install.

TastyTapioca is correct.
The older( CB) version of the client does NOT work anymore and hasn't for over a month. You need the new client.
