I promised this guild a story...of LOLz...so...here it is!

Once upon a time Taney was looking for a job. Taney was with her mom driving home from unsucessful job hunting when suddenly four police cars sped ahead of us on the 5 lane divided highway we were on and stopped in front of us, creating a barricade. They ran out with their guns drawn and ran into a target range. [place where people go to shoot guns...if you didn't know xD] Taney and her mom sit in their car going, ".....***?" We're not going anywhere and we happen to look to the side of the road where there is a coffee house called Beaner's that had a "hiring" sign. Taney figured she might as well apply, so she walked in, filled out an application, got an interview, and a few days later got the job! [the cops were at the target range because some guy rented a gun and then killed himself with it] SOOOO for the next 6 months Taney is barista-ing it up. Her paychecks are 50% of the time not even real paychecks...they are personal checks. Taney says whatever, at least I'm getting paid. Then this %&&^&* of a woman starts ticking Taney off and she quits. =D!!

Spring comes, then summer. Taney gets a job at a hardware store where she was hired as a CASHIER but had to build the shelving units and then stock the shelves. 5 days a week, 9 hour days. Taney was not happy and apparently it showed. Taney was FIRED for "being unenthusiastic". Taney went home and cried cried cried.

Summer went, and then fall came, and winter began. Taney gets a call from a job she applied to 6 months ago--another coffee shop! [this one called Cuppy's] She's interviewed, and gets the job! Taney is sososososo happy. Her boss/the owner is a retired General Motors employee and he is there all the time. He's very analytical [to a fault] and very old so he sort of annoys Taney but she deals with it.

One day, Taney and her coworker were discussing how nobody comes to the coffee shop. We discussed making a Facebook & a MySpace for them in order to get to the kidz for their business. We talk to the owner about it, and he says sure! So Taney goes and makes a facebook group for it. She googles Cuppy's, puts the logo as the group picture, and writes a very long, detailed description of the products they sold. She writes the hours, and upcoming entertainment, and messages her friends to get them to come.

Taney discovers that there aren't any State & Federal taxes being taken out of her paycheck. This is wrong, meaning Taney will owe the government. D:!!! She confronts the owner about it, he says "well...maybe you just don't make enough." Taney is also very analytical and does not like this answer. Taney persists with her questions, and asks the owners wife [who is also involved in the business]. She says, "well. maybe you just don't make enough." Taney is frustrated. She talks to her mom, and her and her mom go in to talk to the owner dude. Owner dude gets all lippy with Taney's mom [Taney's mom does NOT like anyone talking down to her, especially a MAN. Taney is praying to god that her mom doesn't make a scene]. Owner dude says the taxes are because Taney claimed "1". Taney & her mom ask for proof. Owner dude sighs and walks into his office, shaking his head like we are bothering him. He look around at the empty cafe, wonder what we are taking his time from. Owner dude comes out with half of only one of the forms Taney filled out, throws it at Taney and her mom, and says in a ****y` voice, "SEE. She CLAIMED 1." Taney urges her mom to leave before her mom slugs her boss in the face.

One day, Taney is sitting in her Psychology class, thinking about how she'd rather be gouging her eyes out with barbed wire than sitting there, and she suddenly realizes her last paycheck was only for 7.42 hours...when she worked for 13.5! Taney is furious. She goes into work the next day and asks Owner dude about it. This is what ensued: [taken from taney's LJ]

I confronted Steve about my missing 6 hours. I asked him to please check the schedule and confirm that I did work the 9th and the 15th. He wrote those dates down. He came out of his office with a schedule, points to the 18th, and says, "so you want to get paid for this day?" (in his arrogant tone, because he was just itching to tell me that I had made a mistake because the 18th is on the next paycheck) and I said, "No, I asked about the 9th and the 15th" and he gets &*%$ing LIPPY with me; "You ASKED me about THIS DAY -points to 18th-" I am really confused as to why he suddenly got so &*^%ing angry. So I say, "No...I said 9th and 15th..." [like he wrote down on the piece of paper in his hand] so he does this big &*&$ing dramatic sigh and goes "Well LETS START GETTING THE DATES RIGHT so you can stop WASTING my TIME." and he goes back into his office, shaking his head.
Turns out I was right, they skipped me 6 hours. And he goes, "Oh. Sorry for the mishap about the dates." in a tone that was not really sorry at all.

Taney is fed up. She's tired of waking up at 4am, opening the store at 5.3am, and not having any customers until 7am, where they get maybe 3 customers an hour. She's tired of listening to Owner Dude's stupid ideas "Let's make little bowls of vegetables to sell! Let's buy really expensive french pastries every day! Let's start selling salmon to go with Bagels!" and she is tired of her boss's nonchalant attitude about the paycheck problems she has. Taney works one last day, where her boss tells her she "smells nice". Taney is perturbed. She goes home, writes an email to her boss saying how school is too time consuming to have a job, and has to quit. Her boss doesn't respond, just resends the schedule so I know that my shifts have been taken over. Taney leaves the facebook group she created, leaving anyone to become the admin.

A few days later, Taney gets an email saying,
"Without my knowledge or consent someone started a Cuppy's FaceBook page and has now abandoned it. If you are the owner/originator of this page can you please contact FaceBook and have them remove it? It's causing confusion with customers as they are not getting current and appropriate information. I tried to become the administrator in hopes of removing it myself but it won't let me."

Taney LOL's. And LOL's. She had consent from Owner Dude. Guess he never told his wife. Owner Dude's Wife is too stupid to realize all she needs to do is delete the members and then the group.

Taney convinces her mom to go get her last paycheck for her. Taney's mom does so, and comes home extremely ticked off. She tells Taney that Owner Dude was talking about how the "unofficial" facebook group creator could be sued for using THEIR logo without their consent. Taney LOL's. Her exwork isn't even paying royalties to the franchise for using the Cuppy's name. Taney logs on facebook to check the group, which is deleted. Taney LOL's some more, and is relieved she quit that job.

THAT'S MY STORY! =D

No snow day....it's a "B-day" for me, which means I have blocks 4,5, and 6 today, and all my teachers are from freakin Roseville and Citrus Heights and stuff today, where it like....never, ever snows. I wish it was an "A-day" with blocks 1, 2, and 3, cause my 2nd and 3rd block teachers are from Truckee and Emigrant Gap, who got like....over a foot last night and this morning, and they wouldn't be coming in.

OH...I also found out that this is the first time Auburn's gotten over an inch of snow since like three years before I was born. It was awesome to look out my window and see a crapload of snow on the ground. Then not so awesome to go to school when it's cold as hell and I can't find my ski coat. D:

Tonight....hardcore grindage, don't care where. I want to be on my way to 95 by the end of the weekend so that in about a week, I can be 96 and have all my ducks in a row for a class change late Sunday morning. 8D

Ok....this September I fell in love with this one boy...lets call him Paul and I loved Paul very much but he didn't love me like that ans he told me and it broke my little heart so one day I'm sitting in a corner crying my eyes out over Paul and this boy I knew from summer school comes up. We'll call him Ben. And Ben comes up and gives me a hug and tells me everything is going to be ok. So then I fall in love with Ben. But Ben has a girlfriend. So I tell him I love him and he admits he loves me back. Two weeks later he breaks up with his girlfriend and we start seeing each other but don't go official. Then Ben says he can't love me so I get all sad. Ok....December comes and poor little Sammie falls for another boy but she never gets over Ben. So she admits to this other boy, we'll call him Cody that she loves him and he tells her the same. So they start dating. Now Ben gets another girlfriend and Sammie tells Ben of her new boyfriend and Ben gets jealous. All this stuff happens and Sammie ends up cheating on Cody. A week later Sammie breaks up with Cody and admits she cheated with Ben on him. As soon as she breaks up with Cody, Ben asks her out, and she says yes but tells him to say it in person and not over the internet. Ben never does so she kisses her ex-bf Cody and then finds out she was dating Ben making her a cheater again. And now Ben and Cody find out about each other and Sammie is so confused and upset and now has no Valentine and both boys hate her. So Sammie is sad today :[ but Sammie got a cyber hug from Paul so she feels a bit better but as Sammie is typing this Ben is telling her how much he hates her and Sammie could really use a hug.

The great thing abut Templar is that there are no hard hitters, which removes a huge variable. I've seen Comp in action. Which is to say, you can mini-mob Temp NO PROBLEMO.

You could walk both Compassion & Disdain to Templar...
I could Mini-Mob with Comp, cuz she has better buffs and better heals, and then when I kill I'd do it next to the sz where you'd have Disdain...and you could just switch to Disdain to heal me while I kill so you'd finally get to disciple!

Or one day, if I got really bored and didn't care much about EXP, I could help you mini-mob Temp with EXP divide off.

And how is it weird if we raise the level requirement in the guild? Disdain is currently the only rule-breaker, and the next lowest is Chi, who's 67. So I could totally get away with raising it to 66 even if it does cut off some of the faster-leveling up-and-coming lowbies.

Besides, it's not about guild power as a whole...it's about surrounding myself with cool people.

And Krem, if you're watching, I'll sell you that Sea Armor....as soon as I get my hands on some decent Sunset Armor....which might be never. D: (And to answer Taney's question, the Sea set is level 73-83 for Clerics, the equivalent of Duplex for Rogues.)

Oh, I know how you feel. I've had to do the same crap myself. Except since I've Xenned the crap out of all of my gear, I take more like...90 damage. And shouting is a bit obsolete nowadays, I'm afraid...

It just sucks to be a healer nowadays because there are so many of us....I mean 300+ freaking healers?! That's insane....the priest class has basically become worthless...everyone is now using pope hatted Clerics and I walk into the pvp and get mobbed by sins and archers just because they don't like me, I won't actually fight, only sit and chat.....so unfair -_-

Not everyone is using pope hatted Clerics...there are quite a few tanks that count on the level 5 Bless only the Priesties have. What you're seeing here is a race among the pope hats to become the newest Priest....Then, when their library parties dry up, or their current AOEr wants to jump 7 DEF by moving up a map and the talentless yet fast-leveling nobodies of tomorrow end up getting them killed...well, that'll be what separates the haves from the have-nots.

My current party is two 12x Holy Avengers and a 12x Wiz out in Odalisque Forest and, well....there's a bit of a learning curve there that's beyond the grasp of all but the very finest pope hats around.

What you lack is exposure. And trust me, when a tank sees you soloig Templar and not dying, he's gonna realize that you don't suck and swoop you up. Knowing the right people helps a lot too...do some networking and find out what can be done. Also, not all of the 10x and 11x tanks have moved to the new maps yet...there are still a handful of Emperonie and Aseraphel parties out there which are, generally speaking, hurting for good healers because of all the pope hat nobodies wandering around in the new maps can't walk through the desert without getting killed somewhere between Tanline and Phil.

And if worse comes to worse, there's always this option:

Sammie13: Starting all-healer new map party! Level 71+, PM me please!

I did that once too, and it actually wasn't half bad. You'll also find the occasional Rogue or newb Sin too underleveled for the map but determined to make it work anyway, and with a boost and quick reflexes, 0.7% per mob (for you, a hair more for them) isn't unrealistic.

You can do it, Sammie. Don't let the library noobturds show you up. ^^

my situation has turned from crap to crappier.

We bought a new powercord...the green light in the big box turns on like it did my last one, but my computer will not charge...

So the problem is not with the cord, it's within the computer itself, and because I have a Dell, Dell solders their parts into their computer so you can't really take it apart and fix it like normal computers...

So unless it's a problem with the battery and I can somehow come up with 100$ to buy a new battery now...ugh.

Lol, sad news, Comp;
My computer can only hold 512 RAM. I have no idea what that means but it sounds like very little. D: !!!

But on the upside, AWESOME! Aoe those ice maps until 96 and you're set. ;)

Good news: My computer has 512 MB of RAM. So 512 is enough. 8D

My processor is a 2.8 GHz one though, so if yours is slower, you may still have some lag issues. But if it's close to that speed, and you have 512 MB of RAM, you'll alt least be running quickly enough to take care of biznass. =)

On the upside, I Xenned my gloves now that I'm 75, and Bless 2 is enough for Ivolgue/Goofball. I had a really awesome Cleric with me last night and we actually did full map runs of Empion with very little trouble. :O

Commmppp, there's a book series that I've been reading where the main character reminds me 100% of you. It's the Sally Lockheart trilogy, written by Phillip Pullman (the same dude who wrote the His Dark Materials trilogy--the golden compass, etc).

And I don't know if I'll be coming back to solstice. I can't play on my desktop, and my laptop isn't being fixed. So. Idk. :/

I might be able to come back; I just got a call back today from Kmart! So now I have a job! I just have to keep this job. But hopefully they...

1. won't give me bouncing paychecks like my first job
2. hire me as a cashier then make me do manual labor 45 hours a week then fire me for appearing unhappy with that arrangment
3. not take taxes out of my paycheck, short me of hours, then talk condescendingly to me when i ask questions and tell me i'm wasting their time, like my last job.

Well Taney, Kmart isn't gonna bounce checks or skroo up on your withholdings. HR for big companies are usually on the up-and-up with those things from what I hear due to the large number of lawsuits that have happened in the past with end results greatly in favor of the jilted employees.

512 MB is what my computer has....at 2.8 GHz with most other programs shut down, it runs fairly well as long as Windows doesn't surprise me with a random update installation. >>

If your Net connection is faster than mine (which, if you have cable, it probably is), 512 MB should be plenty. =) If your processor is substantially slower, you might have to deal with a bit of lag, but nothing severe or constant.

Aaaannnnnnd....I'm actually coming up on 9x....just a few more days. 8D

Oh yeah, by the way.....epic (but short) story:

Last night, after enough grinding to make even the most stalwart of liposuctionists puke, I decided to try my luck at making a decent set of spare wings that I could sell for some extra cash (since people are getting very greedy with the pricing for Uni shoes and gloves now). Out of Sparkcash, and with only the alchemist drops that I had obtained from relentless AOEing of Empion and Morpheus over the last week or so, I marched in to the Essene Magic Refinery with 11 Silkion, 11 Sirius Stars, 11 Equisibles, and 1,100,000 Kron. DJ D-Styles (with whose nub Temp I had been partying for much of the evening) was telling me "don't do it...x_x...5% success rate..." And honestly, I wasn't expecting much to come of it, especially since my luck had been so rotten as of late with sellers cancelling on me, and being outbid on many things I needed. Anyway, all of my first nine tries failed. With two sets left, I whispered to myself "Looks like I'm out of luck tonight." I loaded the tenth set of wing enhancement items and BAM!! "Enhancement Successful: Jureah's Wings of Mentality (Attack) received".

Dude, these wings are ridiculous. An amped Threaten (critical) on a 5x Scout did 255 damage in PvP. (Glad he had full life, I really didn't want to kill the poor kid.) I went to Morpheus to bully a few Ice Balls for kicks and non-amped critical hits were coming in at around 850 damage. One amped critical Blindside came in very close to 1800. O_O

So I was thinking....you wanna make it to Sin, huh? You have three options:

1: Do it your way.
2: Party with my Priesty with EXP divide off (not preferred since I dun really wanna play my Priest)
3: Borrow my attack wings for a little while and solo kill in a hard map (which is feasible, even at level 84 my Rogue could do it in Temp, and that was without the attack wings).

Yes, I would be willing to lend you my wings. Yes, I would need them back. @_x But yeah...looks like you're covered. =)

The lion is POW+3, MEN+3, so I can spam Threaten pretty fast with the MEN bonus from that and my wings. And since my attack is nutz with the wings on, I can thrash stuff. 8D

With the wings on, my DEF is good enough that I can AOE in maps that are just now starting to turn gray and kill VERY fast. o_o Or keep my cape on and AOE places like Morph. I'll be able to solo Edine at 90. 8D

Oh, except for one crappy problem: My internet's down and will be for like another week or so. Dx I went to a friend's house and borrowed her dial-up to hit up the forums. ><
