And about the "begging for a guild" threads....most of those are from 2xs who just joined like a week prior....not good fits for the guild, needless to say. Still, I'm looking for good people nonetheless, and I do allow for a little slack in that 56+ requirement for the right people (as in cool people who level at a decent pace).

Well, I got MH on Saturday (or since it was after midnight, I guess you could say Sunday @_@...). So I can deal with the Loren party myself. However, I'm gonna be taking the guildies out this weekend....whether it's Loren to Jot or Chant to Phil depends on who's on and willing to participate.....Ehhh...Might as well make an official post about it. That said:

TranscendencE Guild Party - This Saturday Evening!

Q: Where are we going?
A: I have no idea! It all depends on who's coming. If there are less than four or so of us, probably Loren to Jot. If there are more than four or so of us, probably Chanthery Gorge to Phildevilt Plateau. Now that I have Major Heal and a ton of spare Elixirs, we can all handle it...and get some good EXP from it while we're at it.

Q: Who's participating?
A: I have no idea! Ideally, though, it will be as many guildies as possible (and, of course, myself...in high level maps, no offense, you WILL need a Cleric...but then again, that's why I'm here)! If there are simply too few people available, I might have a guest come along. Either way, it should be fun!

Q: What will we be doing?
A: I have no idea....NOT! Of course I know what we'll be doing...killing monsters and looking good doing it! =P A secondary goal will be leveling as many people up as possible. It's cool that we're all close to the same level (the lowest and highest guildies being only 17 levels apart, which is rare these days) because that means we can all do stuff like this (which was kind of the whole idea behind the level requirement).

Q: When is this happening?
A: This Saturday evening, ideally starting sometime between 6PM and 7PM server time. Let me know if this doesn't work for you so I can reschedule it!

All that said...I'm kind of excited! I can't wait!

COOL!!! Vince will probably make Rogue before the party, but I bet we can get -LEON- to 6x if he can come. It'd be awesome if we could get a couple of people to hit landmark levels via an epic guild party. That's kind of the entire purpose of the event and the core of the guild's mission.

Also, midweek, I'll be interviewing Spacebar...he wants into the guild and looks like he might be a good fit. Cashless but very active, he and this guild could benefit a lot from each other, so we'll see what he has to say. That'll make three Scouts in an eight person guild, so if I sign him on, we'll have to put Scout applicants on hold until we get more mage/templar/fighter types in.

Still though, this will be a lot of fun! And I'll be adding my Scout too once she hits 56. Shouldn't take long.

Hehe....Even after I hit 56, I'll still need to arrange for someone to put her in. And she's not even Scout yet...she's still like 3% from 43 (though she was only 40 when I signed on last night). I talked to SiL3NCe about builds yesterday...looks like with the horror mask I'll be starting with 16 MEN and nursing it up to 24 by level 54.

And don't worry about missing me just yet, cause I'll still be around. Only thing you might have to worry about is what happens when I move in March. o.o

@Dyl: No hard feelings at all. I kind of expected "user retention issues" while the roster was still in the single digits. If you're available for the guild party this weekend, you are, of course, still invited to tag along. For now, though, I'll update the roster. Good luck with your new crew!

@Spacebar: Cashless isn't a bad thing...in fact, it's just twice as evident that you've worked hard if you make a high level/class without SC! Some of the guildies level up rather slowly as it is, so the slow leveling without a booster is not an issue. From a recruitment perspective, cashed/cashless has pretty much no bearing on your suitability for membership. The Free Players' union, in fact, is a mostly cashless guild founded by a cashless Archer...proof in the pudding of "if you can't level up by using SC, level up by using a guild!"

@Taney: In the future, might I encourage you to refrain from placing your laptop on top of high-temperature housewares?

@Sammie: Happiness is posting up in a warm corner, tearing up mobs on Solstice, and not having to go to school. (It doesn't get cold in Orange County though, why on earth do YOU need cocoa?) (Just playin.)

The guild party was fun. Kind of awkward with only three people, but still fun.

A suicide AOEer died and got -LEON- killed with aggro Boars; Spacebar and I survived because I spammed Major Heal. -LEON- is now best friends with his death penalty pendants. >.>

We went back and cleaned up the mess, mopping up two and three of them at a time cause we're rad like that.

There's nothing that says we can't head out into the desert instead, now is there? Mobby maps with ranged attackers can be deadly, but it'll definitely be good practice for those healers who want to make sure they have the skills to make it in the battlefield. And the experience is a lot better.

Well....I'm on most evenings from around 5:30-6ish til around 8:30-9ish....I'm on tonight due to extenuating circumstances with unpleasant secondary implications that allow for the more pleasant primary implication of being able to be here. Sound circuitous and ambiguous? Good. That's what I was going for. :D

Anyway.....I can't do guild parties if people keep leaving. Murdock cracked a joke about everyone's Kron being wiped with this maintenance they're doing right now, and 7R7 took it very seriously. (We'll see if he was right when the server comes back up). -LEON- left because his girlfriend made a guild and he wanted to be in there. (Which means I'd have a GvG target if I was more of a wrathful and vindictive person.) SteelArch is seldom on, li-li-'s almost NEVER on, and this leaves me, Tofu, Vince, and Spacebar. Tofu can AOE Loren so he'd be loath to splitting EXP with two people and I get squat for EXP there cause of my level. Vince is in the midst of some supernatural mine farming campaign, and I haven't seen him in over a week anyway. SO....That would be why we don't really do Loren parties anymore.

Of course, we all know that some of those guilds out there are nothing more than MS Paint logos and a couple of people to chat with in apalling sonecisms and other apeish means of 1337speak, and that many 6xs in those guilds are sick of being in them and want to be in one that can help them out instead. Unfortunately, due to underexposure, we haven't really been able to exploit this widespread discontent. So we're stuck with about 7 members and are lucky if we see 3 on at a time.

Anyway, there's the logic behind our small roster and our inability to party up in a nutshell. Yeah, I know I'm not helping too much outleveling all the guildies, but the entire point of making the guild in the first place was so that people would always have someone to go to for a party. So I have two options....leave people in it and hope they decide to stay even though it doesn't seem to have much potential right now (which is probably what I'm going to do), or tell everyone "Hey, I may be a good cleric, but I suck as a GM, so all of you can go find a better guild now kthxbai" and "set them free" so to speak so that I'm the only active person in the whole game in Transcendence like I was for 22 levels between when I took pro tem lead and when I hit Cleric. Oh well.

I guess we'll see.

I need regular parties to be competitive, and being most of a day behind you doesn't exactly thrill me. You see, as a healer, I can't just slap on a cowbell and find an open map and AOE my brains out. When I can't find a party, I have to go to Acidbath and kill one by one by one for (if I'm lucky) about .05% each with boost. Naturally it takes well over 250MP for each kill and three aggros occasionally spells death. Now if you LIKE competing with the competition-impaired, please do, by all means. But it's not hard to win the 100M dash against someone with one leg.

4 DEF isn't that bad! I aoe Morph with 2 less Def than I need and I only get 3/4's. If I get an HP buff from the sc store I'm sure I could handle it without you following me around/ Unless you want to... :'D
