Need more friends with wings
All Angels I know
Put concrete in my viens
I'd always walk home alone
So I became lifeless
Just like my telephone
There's nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
There''s nothing to gain
But the days don't seem to
change
Never played truth or dare
I'd have to check the mirror
To see if I'm still here
My parents had no clue
That I ate all my lunches
Alone in the bathroom
There's nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
There's nothing to gain
But the days don't seem to
change
There's nothing to lose
My notebook will explain
There's nothing to gain
And I can't fight the pain
Teachers said "its just a phase"
When I grow up my children
Will probably do the same
Kids just love to tease
Who'd know it put me
underground at seventeen
There's nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
There's nothing to gain
But the days don't seem to
change
There's nothing to lose
My notebook will explain
There's nothing to gain
And I can't fight the pain
There's nothing to lose when no one knows your name
There's nothing to gain
But the days don't seem to
change
There's nothing to lose
My notebook will explain
There's nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
There's nothing to gain
And I just died today
That was a poem about the perspectives of the bullied, it hurts a lot and many people may not know this but it also causes kids to do suicide at such a young age. Just wanted to let people know.

Those who bully, would you rather take a life or be kind. When you have a bad day it's fine but if it continues for days or even weeks, its bullying.
Bullying comes from words, being silent when someone is talking to you, physical and comes in all sorts, fight back don't let them tear you apart. And don't fight back with physical, take a stance. Anyway the thread was for bullying week, which was last week but...lol I decided to do this anyway.

Keep the thread alive, get the message out. As far as it can reach. Cause I rather do something rather than just wait for another child to do suicide.

Since it's a poem and it's subjective, I didn't get the bully vibe that that much. Whereas teasing is mentioned I felt the feeling of solitude more in it. For me it painted a picture of loneliness. A person who has no friends. He eats his lunch alone in the bathroom cause when you have no one you feel bad sitting there by yourself watching people having a good time joking with their friends. It was a really sad poem. Sometimes I feel like that hehe. Well I do have friends, but I don't meet them much and if we ever do I always feel like I'm always the odd one out. So at university I'm so thankful i don't have much free lessons where I need to stay at school alone. I just go to my lessons stick out the time and go back home. This poem made me think of that. Thank god I have my boyfriend whom I can talk with and open up to. if we ever broke up I fear I'd have no one :(
Lol sorry for boring you with that, it's just the peom was so sad . I like sad poems though cause they get you thinking about things.

Lonliness, or not I was trying to get it to base on bullying but if you feel that way its fine by me. People who hang out with friends think everyone is not alone, although you wouldn't know the other side of the story if you never felt it. I'm in a rich family but my dad lost his job for one whole month and bam! I was wearing clothing 2 times in a week, being made fun of because we didn't have the money to clean the clothes. 2 meals a day some small bowl of rice and peices of fish. It was horrible especialy stinking like a horrible apple. But everything went back to normal when he got his job back.

That must have been tough for you. I'm very sorry to hear that. And yes unfortunatel people who have tons of friends never realise that there are people who don't. They don't realise how sad some people are deep down inside. However, not everyone mind you. Some people notice the realities in life and are more understanding to these things, and more understanding to people's problems and life situations. Unfortunately life can be very hard and cruel sometimes. I supose you have to keep trying to get through and try and see the light of day. I suppose things won't always be so bad but people, and I do this alot, tend to focus on the bad things at times cause they are what stand out the most. But when a person gets through the dark tunnel of a tough situation it makes a person appreciate what they have.
As for bullies, as they say a lot of bullies bully, beause they are bullied themselves. I just don't understand why you could understand the pain and suffering of being bullied and would want someone else to feel that way. Why not make things better? It's hard. Life can be hard sometimes. Its up to us to fight as hard as we can i suppose to try make things better, however hard that may be

You should be sleeping >.< lol
Well not all poems rhyme, it has more of a free verse, but it does rhyme in some parts. It's the style of the poem. a poet has poetic licence and may write the way he sees fit ;) hehe
I personally thought it was very nice. Dogdog, did you write the poem btw?

The poem...can't remember his name but this poem is a really really old one, lost through time. I couldn't imagin such a poem like this could have been forgotten so I had to bring it back out. Can you imagine if you died but no one would even notice or care?

Anyway pointing things out, the verses where it would say,"theres nothing to lose when no one knows your name theres nothing to gain." Means that if he were to ever die nothing would change because there's nothing to lose when no one knows you and there's nothing to gain aswell.

The band was given the poem to sing, I hated the song though...it was all rock/punk, it should have been slow and sad, didn't give me any feeling at all what so ever, just hurt my ears.

If you see someone in a washroom eating their lunch alone .. the best thing anyone can do is atleast say a "hello". Make them feel like they ACTUALLY exist.

The acting is, the poem is, but the way it was sung was not.

Nice poem but honestly i never face such issue in my school days because that was different time period ans different political system as i live today.
Even if some bully appear he was very quick "disarm" by school authorites <and usually he end to be expelled from school and sometimes whit so called "Wolf Ticket" witch block him access to all schools>.
Beside in my school days class communites were very strong united <not like today when friendship is based over mark of Cell Phone> and bullies have very hard time :).
I end once at our local Militia <that was other name of Police> district because i participate in "Beat the Bully" event :D.
But that is not a story for this thread :).
