Exp Points in Abyss / PvP

Recently I went to the abyss to get a lil' exp with some friends in party. We found this great spot, two mages, two clerics, nice leveling.
But suddenly, another party showed up at that spot and they had no better idea than attacking us while we were dealing with an aoe mob.
Result: all of us being killed, and tons of exp lost. :mad:

I understand abyss is also to pvp, but why the exp lost??? It wasn't that way before, and it shouldn't be that way, because it's not our fault that some people just felt like attacking us in a moment where we could not respond to their attacks effectivelly. :confused:

I wanted to share this with the community to see what are your thoughts guys on losing exp in the abyss: Do you agree? :) Do you think like me that we shouldn't lose exp down there? :( What do you think would work better to the community in regards to this matter?:D

i couldnt agree more. i mean, just a cpl days ago, i was in the SoA as a lvl fighter where i was lvling like heck, and then a whole guild of ppl who were all like lvl 7x that got teleported there through an academy member. And i didnt have any return scrools, and they didnt let me get through to the teleport guy, so i went from 21% done with lvl 41 to 2%, where i logged off. i hate, pls switch back to the non-exp loss pvp and lvl restrictions in the abyss.

true on my archer while kiting NoMercy ppl came 2 the lvl 5x abyss and killed every one aoeing i was by myself aoeing so close of lvling 99% and and the mages pruged me then the arhcers poisoned then when my life was so low the mages use nova >.< so pissed then even if i fought bac i had no chance : ( ever since then now i bu teva lvl 60+ ppl shouldnt come into the lower abysses just put the restrictions lvl things bac on cause taking it off not improving any thing : p

Yes I agree. If you read the guidelines for GW it states that you are not to attack players who are actively grinding and/or who state they do not wish to battle. The same, I believe, should hold true for pvp areas since GW is just another form of pvp. I would suggest SS and report if is a problem. Good luck.

same happened to me in PoA me and a cleric Aoeing and we were finishing a mob cause i ran out os stones and he had to go suddenly a 5X fighter and 3X mage came and he said clear off this is my area i said were going now after this mob we were leaving and some mobs were following us then he chased after us attacked the cleric i wasn't just going to stand there so i retaliated and he would of died if not for tier 3 hp scroll and hp/sp buff pretty lame def and dmg with +9 2h and cleric died cause all mobs i tried to run but he stunned me and mobs ran back onto me so i died result losing 4k but for the cleric losing about 10k they think they own places but all you gotta do is lay down some power on them adn they'll back off so just train and if they do it again kill them

Well the GMs of those guilds cant do that anymore they removed the teleporting thing again. You still lose exp though, but I think its a good thing as it does discourage people from going to the abyss which leaves plenty of room for the people that are prepared for a fight.

The bonuses in the abyss is that there are lots of mobs and they are generally easy to kill granting nice exp per kill. The risk to this easy exp that the GM's have so kindly given us is that it is the PVP section of the game. Please do not take this away from the people who enjoy PVP from time to time as it would lower the attraction of the game.

If you have a problem with sucking at PVP then simply stay away from me and the other skilled pvpers in PVP areas. Go grind repeatable quests or aoe in nonPVP areas. Seriously, if your in a PVP area you are fair game. Go grind nonPVP style or stay out of my way.

I don't really think people cared as much prior to this change. I know I never did. Sure I would lose the scrolls/buffs I got, but that's something EASILY replaced. In addition, Abysses are very easy with a PARTY. Soloing is very situational as it would depend on the characteristics of the character (build, skill build, SC advantage, etc). You'll never see me soloing in there since I have no patience for taking on 3 mobs, resting, then repeating.

However, with the EXP loss from PKing, Abyss is pretty much a battlezone with an added motivation to beat on people and it wouldn't be THAT bad if the level limits weren't broken as hell. Granted people bring their lower levels in 7x abyss to powerlevel (which I won't complain about since I only do that if a friend is with me because only they have the heart to let me go with them and plus I'm a socialist so I like spending time with people), but we already know 7x abyss isn't all that great and letting 8x players get access to RoA DOESN'T help. RoA is for 7x. If capped players are really THAT bored and THAT egotistical, then they can go to a battlezone and let it all out there. Knowing that people are going to bring their lower levels to power train is only going to serve as yet another motivation for an even higher level player to waltz in and kill them along with the players meant to be there.

If you ask me, Abysses should go back to how they were.

yeah that update sux like hell i cant lvl my cleric or archer normally
my archer can only enter lvl 20 abyys whitout a battle to come in
i lost 70% in lvl 20 abyss for only lvling.....
so i whas 90%-70=back to 20%

the reason for this is they want you buy teva if got teva lose 0 xp even when mobs kill you so than got nothing to complain about

There is definitely safety in numbers, joining a party in abyss is definitely a good idea to avoid being killed by another player.

Personally I think keeping out the higher lvls keeping the lower lvls and taking out losing exp when you die by some killing you and making floors and making solo rooms would benefit the abyss better I mean whats the point of a lvl 86 coming into the 70 abyss?

its not even this, the problem of higher lvls coming into 2x,3x,4x,and 5x abys is insane, i dont mind losing xp, but dont let higher levels in?! maybe if they didnt go in you wouldnt lose as much xp. im 43 mage right now on apoline, and if anyone knows yourownedbyme? hes about 56 and still comes into 4x abys to kill me... It just gives higher levels "power" and think they are "in charge" of this new, non-xp gaining abys.

Well i am certan that ur right because i am lvl 31 and i got killed alot and was called a noob by other hgh lvlers in abyss while i lost exp they should change to not pvp in abyss only in battle zones should they PvP even though some ppl don't agree i think it is right to be PvPing in battle zones.:):):):):):):):):):):cool:

The other thing is try to pvp fair if you want to pvp. There are some people just wait there and when you have group of mobs after your group then they start attack. That's not smart just sick...

Put the lvl control back and take off exp lost!!!!!!

Yes, I have a problem with the abyss, and yes, I usually grind elsewhere, but since you brought it up: What about the people who don't let you stay out of their way? What about the people who get their jollies from going to the abyss (probably beneath their level) for the sole purpose of finding and butchering everyone?

I guess this is kind of a recurring rant for me, but if you don't like it, go to a different part of the forum or "stay out of my way" here. :D

The higher lvls come to lower lvl abyss to PK because they are not good enough to PVP their own lvl.

I stopped going into Abyss after update because I would rather not deal with such losers.

Lmao well i hardly see this in the 70-80 abysses, a lot of people in the lower lvs don't seem to have respect anymore, hence why they'll just mindlessly kill anyone for some points that you can't do anything with.

I must recognize ur post made me laugh. I don't suck in Pvp. Actually I'm pretty good. But that was not the point. Do you speak english? Did you have the chance to really take a look to what I posted?

Ok let me clarify: my point was that the Abyss should not be PvP, not that Pvp is wrong. In determined areas, Pvp can be lots of fun. Areas where both players have entered knowing and agreeing to the fact they are there to FIGHT OTHER CHARACTERS.
But if you are in an area where you can fight mobs and you are there just because it's good for leveling, then the Pvp is unnecesary, and it will only be disturbing to the original purpose of the area. If we already have Battlefield, why would you Pvp in a place full of mobs?

im curently 7X i was lvl 69 when this happened i was in 60 abyss i was kitintg the long circle with the 2 big rooms on each end when all the sudden a fighter stuns me and runs away guess what happened.....died however i ddint mind but then a mage uses fear when i went back so i ran everywhere died again now i no what ur thinking its pvp but these people were almost lvl 79 and i wouldnt have minded so much if they killed me because when i die in abyss to playes i only lose 15kxp but when the monsters come i lose almost 130kxp =/ i wish the cap thingy would go away so if they do that ide havea fighting chance but dosnt matter now im in 70 abyss now so pathetic no mobs at zall and all rooms r filled with people yawn >.> but ye i agree since ive been there =)
