Hello Fiestaholics! We meet again! This time we are going to turn into poets!

Ooooh yeeesss! you will be a poet with the chance to win 2 items from the Fiesta Store!


Description:

This event will test your capability to write poems. You can choose any place, any person, ANYTHING you want to write about but it must be Fiesta-themed. So, no writing about how sweet chocolate is, although it is pretty sweet. This lovely contest will test your usage of the English vocabulary.

Also for this event I will be needing a nice screenie taken by you! the screen shot must be in the place you got inspired to write the poem!

For this event to start there must be at least 20 participants.

Week 1 - 10 poems will be chosen to go for round 2! and 10 other will be eliminated.
Week 2 - 5 will be chosen and 5 will be eliminated.
Week 3 - 3 will be chosen, 2 will be eliminated.
Week 4 - The final week, the thread will be closed. And in one week, the winner will be announced.

I'm a bit confused. You said poems whould be submitted between 30th nov and 30th dec. The thing is you also said the last week for the event (with the last two poems) will be on the 30th of december. so that would mean the poems should all be in by now to manage the 4 weeks.

Could you help clarify when the exact deadline for the poems to be submitted is?

May I ask a question please? Will you be having a say in the judging? Because lately there seems to be some animosity between us sorc, and I can't understand why as I have done nothing to offend you. And it's strange especially since we are so few people from our country. I just wanted to know because since I would like to enter, I wanted to know if there will be any bias from your part and if you will just "fail" my poem for the sake of doing so. Just slightly concerned. Thanks :) I hope you find time to answer.

Oh I just saw your Pm and I see you have disqualified me. I did absolutely nothing against the contest rules which would make me need to be disqualified and the reasons you gave were completely irrelevant... and besides irrelevant they were false allegations. I see you pointed out my spelling mistakes in my post before. As I said I was dizzy and had no time to stay arranging as I was typing fast. It's strange that you would point that out as I've seen some of your threads and you have a few share of your own mistakes as we all do at times but not to be rude we don't all point them out as you did to me. Mistakes just happen.

I see you said I needed to be nicer to you and you would have kept me in the contest? So are the only people allegeable for the contest those people who fawn over you and only agree and accept all you say? Does the fact I pointed out a flaw in your dates to help myself understand and ultimately help others, make me rude and unqualified to participate in this contest? I said nothing rude in my post I just pointed out an error having to do with the date to try and help you out. Which you did cause you corrected it. So if anything you should have thanked me not said I was rude. The lack of compassion from your part even though I told you how unwell I was feeling was very unsettling. And even though I was sick I tried to help you out with your date error, to help clarify for all who enter the contest.

I'm sure if you ask others they will tell you I wasn't being rude, and your need to disqualify me must be based on something completely unrelated and I can't understand what and if anyone should be called rude, I'm afraid it would have to be you. It's very saddening to see this turn out this way. And to think we were friends once. I wonder why you changed so much and act above us all now. I think you have a problem with taking criticism and after all without criticism one can never learn to correct flaws and errors and ultimately improve. Before you criticize others you must learn to accept it also. When you corrected my spammy post I quickly admitted to my fault and even explained the reason why. I was unwell. Just as you can criticize others we may do so also. You shouldn't act like everything you do is the best or you will never see any mistakes you do and never be able to correct them. The fact you became so outraged because I wanted to help you with your dates makes me wonder about your judging capabilities.

Even I have emo times albeit rare in the Fiesta Forums and got slapped silly as a result. Let's just hope this is a simple miscommunication and if its not the case, it's best to let it go as Fiesta in my opinion is like a club where we practice our particular hobbies we enjoy.

But I assure you I wasn't flaming or even being angry in my post; if i was doing either I would have had capitalised text in my post lol.
The thing is sorc your pm was very hard to understand and it was a bit conflicting. First you said you can disqualify me. and then you said if you wer nice it would have been fun; therefore insinuating it was over for me.
And as you noticed I didn't paste the PM you sent me as I felt it would have been unappropriate. But I did comment here as I felt I had a right to defend my self from the false and unreasonable accusations and the terrible and unjust way you were treating me. I just hope the entries for this contest will be judged fairly. All I can say is; I advise all of you that if you even find a huge error in his describtion of the event and need to have something clarified, do not ask him, or he will call you rude and disqualify you. For my own part, I will be looking not only at the creativity of your poem...but the creativity of your screenshot as well. If you would like some tips on how to take a great screenshot I will like a post in here from Adrichiang on what makes a fantastic picture.

I know most of you from around the forums, and I know many of you participate in other events. I would like to remind everyone (or help to clarify) that the poems should be submitted by Dec. 6th in order for us to judge them in time for the next round.

I look foward to seeing what you come up with and goodluck to everyone!

Hey Sorc I was just posting to let you know that the prize list should not include certain items because some are not able to be sent via gift system. They have only released certain items compatible with the gifting system. Example: Stat reset scroll does not have the gift option.

=D just posting so no one picks items that cannot be sent. =D

Awesome idea for a contest though. I will keep my eye on it and I cannot wait to see what people submit

It basically explains the criteria I used to judge the difference between a good and great screenie ^^.

I apologize I could not participate as a judge for your contest Sorcerer reasons being:
1. Its time slot conflicted with my own sponsored FNTM contest, so I was not sure I could devote enough quality time to both contests simultaneously.
2. I do not have a literary background much less read poetry personally so I believed I may not be the most qualified judge for this competition.
3. From my experience with forums chats with CL's and Outspark staff, Outspark generally as a rule do not directly involve themselves with any player sponsored contests due to perception of favoritism or official Outspark support which may make them liable if anything goes wrong, that would include any volunteers that signs nondisclosure agreements with Outspark such as CLs and GLs. One of the reasons I hesitated about being a CL is that I can not run my own player sponsored contests such as FNTM ^^.

May I suggest...perhaps as a form of reconciliation...that you make Naomi89 a judge?

I agree with Celtic's assessment on this situation created due to miscommunication between Naomi and Sorcerer.
As for making Naomi a judge, well Sorcerer as the sponsor for this event, in the words of Serric in regards to my own FNTM event is "Its your event, you can do whatever you see fit". Pretty much it means the sponsor have last say on the contest and there is no point in trying to change their minds and just move on.

Hmm... this is a tricky situation. This is my own personal opinions in regards to people I do not like entering my own contests and disqualifications.
I can not disqualify any contestant unless:
1. The contestant consciously conspired with others to fix the polls.
2. The contestant failed to turn in his/her submission by the deadline I set.
3. The contestant failed to contact me for an extension before the deadline for submissions.
4. The contestant voluntarily forfeits the contest due to for whatever reason (Which I will simply call "rl issues").

I know your emotions are running high right now Sorcerer but I recommend you try not to single out any contestant for disqualification until at least you get your initial 20 people and get the contest under way ^^. Also if Naomi requests her name to be taken off an event, even Outspark will have to listen to her request because in the US at least you can not stick someone's name up without their expressed permission and then single them out in red type from all the other contestants, it's basically defamation of character or blacklisting.
Basically, if anything just take Naomi's name off if you do not want her to participate in your contest, this way you do not need to deal with CSRs slapping you silly with red marks once someone decides to report you k? It happened to me, it could happen to you too so be careful ^^.

I would drop it if I was eliminated (I may ask for a reason via PM's) but this has caused way to much flaming, hatred, and general unneeded drama in the thread. If there is flaming going on in the PM's, it is not us you complain to, bring it to the staff members who deal with it. Seriously, the most mature idea right now would be to drop the entire issue and let it be worked out without competitors having to deal with it.

As I said, if you are so upset, have her forward the PM's to the correct people (CL's most appropriately) and let them work it out. Technically, you could be accused of black listing Sorc if you keep this up.

You aren't helping anyone by further feeding the flames with very subtle hating of your own.

oh, that's just the before shot, i have the after screenie also. i think he's probably attacking someone else while i'm standing there, i just caught him between attacks. i was gonna add the death screenie, but didn't wanna violate any rules by using two screenshots.

To our newcomers: welcome to the competition, I don't believe there has been any rule set forth as to length, rhythm or meter. Just write what you feel :)

hearts- from what I understand (as I grew up when goth/punk existed and emo was just beginning) goth and emo are different. There is also apparently a violent clash between punks and emos...to the point where several 'emo' kids have been killed in Mexico.

According to Wiki:

Goth-Originated in the 80s as a post punk offshoot. A diverse subculture often typified by black clothing, makeup and hair. Style of dress can range from punk to victorian or even renaissance pieces (I'm assuming they're referring to corsets)...and is often a combination of both. Hihihi, thank you for the complement. well, the reason behind the poem and the SS are very much related. When im at the office, i sometimes daydream that i cap my archer along with having all the godly gears in my storage *yeah, right!! as if... lol* and presenting them *Bluestreak(at FiestaPH now-coz i still owe him the blue bow) Lil_Crazy_Dee (who always wanted the bow after me) as gifts. Sad to say is that after FiestaPH was introduced back home, theyve all transferred there and few of us are still playing. So when i did the poem, i thought of the times we were having fun together.

Soo.... everytime when work is about to be done, anxiety comes along with the urge to get home quickly and strange ideas comes up to my head *what if they over lvled me* *what if they got godly gears already* and a lot of what if's..so getting home and playing with them along with my friends gives me this freedom and relaxation after a hard days work:D

To hear those alluring and sweet sounds again,
Decayed bones and rotten limbs crackled by the rosen flame,
It was a beautiful song, yet my heart was crying in vain.

To see those soulless bodies shivering in pain,
Swollen hearts and dark blood froze slowly in rhyme,
It was a magnificent view, yet it was a hurtful memory to gain.

So hold me again and kiss my murdering hands,
With those dried tears, call me your Saint.

Wow, some really interesting poems so far ;) Now, are we supposed to submit a new one for week 2, or just use the one we've posted so far? I'm a little confused about that part, hehe. Also, poems should relate to the game, right? Lol. I hope judges are understanding that not everyone has a good ss manipulation program, lol, I use a program designed to take red eye out of real photos, but it doesn't do much for screenshots lol.

No I will have all the results by the 6th of December but I am going to give 1 week extension since some asked because of irl issues.

But the week after if not all the participants will not post their Screen Shot + Poem they will get eliminated.

After everyone confirm their poems + screen shot the the judges will start judging, as soon as I will have the results I will post the 10 people that passed and the 10 people that eliminated.

The week after I will post the 5 people that got eliminated and the 5 people that passed

The week after I will post the 3 people that passed and the 2 people that got eliminated

There once was a poem breathed soft in my ear
One of a night, with a sky so clear
A sparkling dream, a distant sight
A dawning sky on a starry night

A silhouette on the golden moon
Shimmering, hanging, like a precious dubloon
A painting on a canvas taken flight
Moving slowly, shining bright

The dancing in the grass from the chilling breeze
Pensive whispering of the peaceful trees
The time is fixed. The mood is right.
A warm, loving hand, holding tight

Wind chimes sing sweetly from afar
Like the silver smooth velvet inside a car
The heavens are fair, a heart that's white
Protecting from harm, winning the fight

A wish on a star, a promise still kept
The thought in my mind of how long I slept
The sky is black, but as time might
Dawn will come with a ray of light.

Wild Imps and Zombie Kings
Lay slain upon the ground
For in the darkness of my tome
Their screams are all that sound

Darken skies with moon filled nights
I watch the ghouls go by
Flicks of ghost and floating lights
Ever wonder how staffs could fly?
In ageless graveyards they'll come to you
before the night is done
The graveyard wolves will come for you
so they can have some fun

But in this death filled place
where darkest and mayhem rule
with lights that float up in to space
and circle around the moon
there is such beauty and such grace
where spirits sing their haunted tune

the Dreamgirls of Fiesta!
I hope everyone listens from Apoline,
Bijou, Epith and Teva.

To the minds of two female characters
came a brand new fresh idea
as they were roaming around Elderine
comtemplating and schemin’

Let’s create a brand new guild
Only for the ladies
Although the leader’s level
isn’t in the Eighties.

But Gigee along with Protectora,
MistressKiba & DarkGodess,
Velonica & her other guild
mates have all remained modest

As each and every member
moved on, friendships were created,
while pride in the Dreamgirls
was always undebated.

Only one goal in each of
their minds as they grew:
Respect for each other and
to Fiesta: be loyal and true!

In Fiesta, there are guild wars,
marriages, newbies and divorces,
GM’s, GL’s, CL’s, CM’s,
CSR’s and all other supporters.

Through it all: the events, Kingdom Quests,
costumes, mounts and new pets,
I simply know that Fiesta rises
