From experience for the first few levels after a monster becomes grey they will still drop items. But after that they drop nothing.

Because I was farming for scroll material in Forest of Mist from lizards They were still dropping materials for me even though they were grey. But a few levels after I went back they didn't drop anything

it sounds bad that we cannot collect them from lower lv monster. It is quite difficult to gather summon beast leather(LQ), not much monster will drop it. T___T
anyway, thanks for reply & sharing yr experience :)

Once a monster becomes grey because you have outleveled it, it will still drop items, just less often.

I say they should not drop anything, the reason, it makes the gold botters jobs too easy or is that why you are asking.

I've been wondering about this too, particularly how it relates to trade skills. If I've passed the level where I can obtain the materials to make things, will I need to buy the materials from other players?

just make an alt and farm the mobs you need till they become grey

or move to a higher level area, if they're grey in FOM then you'll prob have green in SOG....

Yeah it gets harder to get a lot of items.

Just to remind everyone, farming is against the rules.

So its against the rules to hunt for materials now for your own personal use?

Or perhaps you are farming to help out a friend who is in need of materials. How do you think people make ingame money here by farming -_-

If you are farming then exchanging it for real money then that is a problem but the above 2 aren't.

When you go pick a Mushroom/Herb/Wood that IS farming. There is absolutely nothing wrong with farming as long as real money isn't exchanged in the process.

This will just confuse new players into thinking its not ok to stop grinding to make some money to buy armours and skills etc.

Farming itself isn't against the rules.... Farming for a gold site to sell for real money is though.

Hey I "farmed" for a few days mainly gathering herbs in MT, so I could get my guild up and running. Is that illegal? nope..cause it was me and no one else at the computer doing it...and the money got used to create the guild..so went right back to Fiesta, no one else :)

Not allowing you to 'farm' mobs too far below you may seem a bad thing at first.. but it's actually a good thing..

If anyone could get anything from any mob at any time.. the value of individual ingredient drops would go down to nothing.. since so many people need Summoned Beast Leather it creates a market that new players can gain some cash and get started in the game.. without that market it's really pretty hard to get that first waud of cash together..

And imagine if you're a low level character and some mage comes in with an Area Of Effect fireball spell and wipes out a ton of the mobs you're hunting.. it would get quite annoying.

The loss of the drop when you get too far above a monster just keeps things more fair.

Poorly worded but I think what you meant is farming for real money is against the rules. The atual gathering of materials to make scrolls/potions/stones and everything else is a normal and healthy part of the game (ie not against the rules).

I sometimes just spend a day farming materials I need to create more material. I go chop down trees, I rip herbs for goods and I kick chests over and watch the phat lewt spill.

It's good, its all good.
