Due to inactivity of myself and most of the members, recruitment is currently suspended, and the guild has been reduced to just me for the time being. This is not personal, it simply has to do with my time constraints due to school. Use the mail system to get in touch with me in-game if you wish; I try to log on at least once a day for a few minutes to check messages, and I do intend to be active again once school is over in late May.
This guild is my personal project. My idea is to see if a group of players, in the current game atmosphere, can be self-reliant and succeed by their own skill, dedication, and knowledge of the game.
What does that mean? It means that this guild will be composed of players who want to accomplish things for themselves, be self-reliant to the extent they can be, but learn to depend upon and trust others to accomplish more difficult tasks. For example, anyone who has been in the Labyrinth knows that you cannot complete this dungeon on your own (unless you are a level 36+ Neophyte); you need a strong, balanced party, where each player contributes, in order to succeed.
What do I expect of the members of this guild?
Power-leveling/Leeching: Guild Members may not ask for power-leveling. Any requests for power-leveling either via guild chat, shout, overheard, or reported to me will result in immediate expulsion from the guild without warning. This is your warning.
In addition, guild members may not be power-leveled, even if they do not ask. This is a violation of the spirit of this rule. Further, guild members, as they advance may not power-level others, whether for free or in exchange for kron or items. This is also a violation of the spirit of this rule.
Conflict: No interspersonal conflicts on the guild chat. If you have a disagreement with a guild member, and you likely will at one time or another, take it to whisper. Failure to do so may result in reduction in rank.
Inactivity: If you must be inactive for an extended period of time, please just post to this effect on the forums. The reason is immaterial; life happens. Just do not vanish without a word or you may be deleted to make room for a more active player. Corollary to this requirement:
Activity/Leveling: I feel that setting arbitrary requirements for activity and leveling detract from the game, as the game is supposed to be fun. Just be active when you can, level at your own rate, and do not feel inadequate if others surpass you in level or skill at the game.
Alts: I do not accept alts of current guild members into the guild. This means that if you already belong to the guild, you cannot have another one of your characters join. If you do not already belong to the guild, and you have an alt that you would like to join, that is acceptable, as long as you occasionally play the alt.
Begging: Do not request free items from guild members, especially if you can farm the item yourself. You may request to buy items from another, or someone may offer you items for free, but do not beg for items or kron.
Guild Storage: You are not required to donate items to the guild storage, but if you choose to do so, I thank you. Do not deposit anything in guild storage that you cannot live without. I recommend against depositing 6AP gear, Xen Stones, Soul Stone Fragments, or any other valuable quest items. Recommended items for deposit are spare skill books, small quest items such as Soldier's Letters/Diaries, that you do not want to use or vend, that could help another guild member. Reasonable requests for items from guild storage will be granted for personal use only; this means that you may request only what you will use, and you may not resell the item. For example, if you are a squire, asking for a Neophyte skill book will not be allowed. For gears, you may request the gear for one week, and thereafter may request an additional week of use of the item. Once the two weeks are over, you must return the item to the guild storage, or refund the value of the item to the guild storage. This means that when you borrow a gear, do not loan it to anyone; you are responsible for the item should it not be returned. Failure to return an item will result in disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion from the guild. Please, just think how you would feel if you loaned out an item to someone and they did not return it.
Dues: No dues will be collected, but an initial donation of 50,000 kron within five weeks of acceptance into the guild is required and non-refundable. Just put in 10,000 per week for five weeks and you're done. If you're short on kron, put in what you can when you can, but save money for potions and transport to other cities. This money will serve as a reserve for future use by all guild members in the form of a loan. For example, if there is a gear that you would like to purchase and you need a little extra kron to make the purchase, you may request a loan from guild funds. This money is repayable within one week of the loan, so do not ask to borrow more than you can repay within that timeframe.
Game Information: The forums are a wealth of information compiled by numerous players over the course of the last year. Almost any question that you might have about the game has probably already been asked and answered somewhere on the forums. Therefore I expect members to search the forums for information first before making a request for information from fellow players. Repeated failure to search the forums for information may result in reduction of rank or expulsion from the guild.
Meetings: There will be no regularly scheduled meetings. Occasional guild meetings may be called, but there will be no penalty for missing the meetings if you are offline at that time. Primary means of communication will be via the guild chat and this thread.
Ranks: Ranks will be granted based on two separate criteria. There are five ranks based solely on level, and there are five ranks based on special criteria, yet to be determined. Though I do not have the specific criteria worked out, in general, being helpful towards your fellow players, especially guild mates, by helping them with quests, with game information, tips and tricks, not selling overpriced items, and not taking the game too seriously will likely earn you a special rank. Basically I am looking for others who share the same ideal of getting there on your own merits.
Ranks based on Level:
Quartz - All players begin as Quartz, and remain so for a minimum of one week. Thereafter, this rank is reserved for those below level 46.
Ruby - This rank is for those level 46 and above.
Citrine - This rank is for those level 56 and above.
Emerald - This rank is for those level 66 and above.
Kyanite - This rank is for those level 80 and above.
Special Ranks:
Garnet - Ability to use guild skill and change the guild notice. Level 46 and above, and other requirements to be determined.
Topaz - Ability to use the guild skill, change the guild notice, and invite new members. Level 56 and above, and other requirements to be determined.
Peridot - Ability to use the guild skill, change the guild notice, invite new members, and access storage. Level 66 and above, and other requirements to be determined.
Iolite - Ability to use the guild skill, change the guild notice, invite new members, access storage, and access funds. Level 80 and above, and other requirements to be determined.
Amethyst - All guild powers; requirement is approval of guild leader.
Special ranks may be granted without the requisite level in circumstances yet to be determined. This part of the guild structure is under construction.
Does this sound like the guild for you? How to join:
You must contact me in-game asking to join, either in person or via whisper. Do not send me a message via the mail system. Do not post here asking to join. Do not send me a buddy request asking to join. Only whisper and face-to-face requests will be accepted. To prove that you have indeed read this guild post and all requirements of the members, you must include the word ginger in your request to join. If you cannot follow these directions and complete this simple task in order to join, then you will likely violate the requirements listed above, resulting in expulsion. By asking to join you implicitly state that you have read all of the above requirements and you agree to be bound by them as long as you are in the guild.
Initial recruitment will consist of the following: 4 Squires, 4 Apprentices 8 Neophytes - 4 who wish to become Scouts/Archers, and 4 who wish to become Rogues, all level 36 +/- 5 levels, and 8 Acolytes, level 26-31 - 4 who wish to become Disciples, and 4 who wish to become Clerics. This will make for a well-rounded guild of people who are close to each other in level and who can party together if they so choose. You are also free and encouraged to party with people outside the guild as well. You never know what you can learn from other players.
Minimum level requirement to join will increase as the average level of the current guild members increases. So if you think this is the guild for you, PM me, Yarrow G, in-game when I am online, or speak to me in person, and tell me your class, level, code word included in this post, and for Neophytes and Acolytes, whether you will choose Scout vs. Rogue, or Disciple vs. Cleric.
