What security programs do you use for your computer?

Do you have a firewall and an antivirus of different brands? An internet security system (antivirus and firewall from same brand)?

Just asking because I'm wanting to know what programs I should use on my computer that will efficiently protect it and not lag it.

I use Avast Anti-virus and Comodo Firewall. They both seem to be extremely light on resources (and I haven't had any problems with malware, viruses, etc), and I don't have a problem with lag unless there are tons of people in Eldy or Uruga.

So yes, I use different brands.

I have Windows Firewall and AVG (my anti-virus)

I also have Spyware terminator.

Try not to get heavy anti-virus like Norton and Panda.

My laptop came with McAfee and I never bothered to change it. I also run CCleaner, and an anti-spyware/adware program that I can't remember the name of o.o

Um, I use Windows Firewall and Windows Live OneCare.
I think all computers have Firewall, you just have to turn yours on.
To turn on your Firewall, go to Control Panel and then look for Security Center and if it says it's off, turn it on or vise versa. ^.^

EDIT: If you want to use Windows Live OneCare, I think it costs around 50-100 Dollars but you can use it up to three computers and it's for a year. ^.^

I'd technically be in the "different vendors" category. Norton AntiVirus 2009, with firewall duties handled by their own hardware - a Belkin Firewall/NAT Router. Symantec (Norton) does run a bit heavy on the processing/memory footprint, but moving the firewall from software to hardware seems to make up for it, especially given my old rig.

If this old box of junk:

AMD AthlonXP 1900+ (Think 1.9 GHz Pentium III or IV, whichever version hit that speed)
512 MB RAM
Asus A7V-333 motherboard

can handle Norton's without choking, I don't see any system made in the last 5 years (Which would easily chew mine up and spit it out) having any real problem with it.

And don't call me a nerd...I earned my official geek badge long ago. :D

I use a WatchGuard firebox and Panda Anti-Virus for file servers. (Also Panda 2009)
