Archer for Free Player?

How's archer's life as a non-sc character?

Right now, I'm experimenting with different classes in Sos. Because I don't use sparkcash, I want to know how "hard" (certainly not easy) it is play archer without sparkcash.

I already see a huge disadvantage in damage. I saw an archer around lv 80 in Acidbath. He did not have horror mask, and not surprisingly, his damage was significantly low for an archer (my full POW knight did more damage and its Lv. 83).

I want to hear what you guys have to say :) And any recommaded build for a free archer??

here is how it goes for classes difficulty for being scless( top is hardest bottom is easiest ) in my opinion


Assassin/ Rogue
Warrior/ Knight*
Templar/ Disciple*
Archer/Scout**
Wizard/ Mage
Priest/ Cleric

i think, from hardest to easiest

Mages/Wiz (explains why theres so much less wiz than other 3rd class)
Rogue/Sins (aoeness!)
Knights/Warriors(aoeness!)
Scouts/Archers (super solo)
Cleric/Priest (just really awesome)
Templars(aoeness!)

Hmm.May I differ from you on this? Unless you have a lot of Kron to buy a high+/+6AP equips or buy stuff from SC *Mostly ingame rich to buy good equips* You can't super solo that much unless you are a high level char.

only my opinion: (also hardest to easiest)

knight class- most fighters rely on sc nowadays because of the super high gear prices
magician class- low weight capacity and constant repot
neophyte- only during the lower lvls
templar- a bit less def than knights and most need sc to aoe
cleric- has to carry lots of pots but mp costs are not as bad as apppy skills pm cost so they need to carry (im not really reliable when it comes to healer class)
archer- if pow/en build is used, sc is not really needed for this char beacuse they are like rougue fast and almost templar strong, so they can solo effectively

actually if you compare lvl 80 archer with a lvl 80 mage, i think the archer will still be able to hit more than the mage... to put it simply, the mage might deal a higher damage but the archer has more speed in casting so over time the archer will kill faster =]

since you have a knight i strongly suggest that you make archer because archer is very exciting ^^;

Having horror mask is more of a luxury, we dont really need it to level... unless you are competing with some people :D


if you go cashless... i think archer is the easiest to level up. I have tried all of the classes btw.. the only class where i am not really familiar is temp :D
