Yeah thats the major problem with the space/galaxy/celestial pics lol. The look really really cool when they are big and all the details can be picked out but when they are small they lose a lot of appeal cause they lose a lot of detail and the colors arent as bright. They kind of blend together.

Other then that i think we still need a lot more options :D I know that when the perfect emblem is in front of us everyone will easily recognize it xD

Quite honestly i dont see any duality in SZ. In my eyes the zodiac is neutral, it is the grey area, not light OR dark, it just IS. Could you describe what you mean by good/evil angel/devil involved with the zodiac? I guess we could integrate it since so many people seem to love a good/evil theme, though ive never been partial to it.

Heavenly/celestial bodies are good, great even, but when i said more pics i meant on this thread itself since this seems to be the final compilation. Here we have about 18 to choose from but not a huge variety. About 80% of those are heavenly galaxy star swirls :p

as for tha 3rd one is it hades one? if so i dunno if its bttr with black backing or not, i suppose with backing it stood out more, but in game w/o it may look good, we'll jus randomnly thinkin~

Oh Magiik! I like a lot of these new ones :D they give me happy shivers hehe. And i like how they are not quite celestial but a lot of them give off that airy/heavenly feel. I think if i had to i could start making a choice at this point but hell, feel free to keep em coming if you see more that seem to fit. <3 lolz

Yeah most of the new ones look like they have a lot of potential. Im picturing them without the background and i must say that i think this is going to take a while. You screwed up! Giving us too many good choices >.< D'oh! lol

Well Yoshi...Its going to be impossible to please everyone 100%. But if you have an image in mind that you'd like to put out there send it to me, and I will be more then glad to put it on the list.

Also- We are trying to keep away from bold distinctions of what we are. Neutrality is the new denim. Hah.

I tend to not put it as subtly as you do Magiik. Some people are under the impression that we have a sort of good/evil theme going on. At this point and time that is not the case at all. As we stand here and now there are no signs of any light/dark themes in the mix. I guess saying that we are absolutely in the grey area IS a bold distinction and that my view on this will be challenged shortly lol. I guess if people really want that kind of thing we can integrate it but....T_T

lmao , its been copyright protected by sochi, aka jouai, aka junsei, aka church lolz, tho idc we don't want no moons~

I tend to not put it as subtly as you do Magiik. Some people are under the impression that we have a sort of good/evil theme going on. At this point and time that is not the case at all. As we stand here and now there are no signs of any light/dark themes in the mix. I guess saying that we are absolutely in the grey area IS a bold distinction and that my view on this will be challenged shortly lol. I guess if people really want that kind of thing we can integrate it but....T_T

well nevertheless i dunno whats happnin with y&y situation, if any1s talked to bobby or not but i will definitely be moving SA away from that theme once tha new guild goes thru lolz~

best to hav a fresh start and i don't realli think SA will hav a theme but it will definitely include alot of other things~

eh heh.....it's on the guild description....x.x now granted, I STILL haven't made an editted version of it (sorry for the delay..too much school crap going on...finals, selecting classes...all that fun boring and ridiculously annoying stuff T_T) but the original version provides two interpretations of SZ:

1) It is a neutral organization with neither light nor dark beings. Entities of light and entities of darkness do not exist; only beings of the zodiac or in our case, scions of celestial entities who are neither good nor evil. With this interpretation, we have produced a number of images that take on no side, that aren't affiliated with darkness or light. Those images (namely the galaxy/planet/star images) simply emphasize the celestial aspect of the guild while at the same time maintaining that sense of neutrality.

2) It is a balance of the two categories, light and dark, angel and devil. This interpretation is based on an idea similar to that of heaven in Christianity. There are angels who are pure and heavenly, and there are "fallen angels" or rather, devils and demons who roam about in darkness (just to clarify, this guild isn't affiliated to any religion. I am only using the idea of Christianity's heaven as an analogy so that you may have a better understanding of this second interpretation). This concept is similar to the second interpretation of Scions of Zodiac, where there are celestial beings, but some may be good and some may be evil. Their powers may be derived from the heavens, but like Lucifer and the fallen angels who originated from heaven and rebelled against God, there are, in our case, "scions" who are pure and good, but there are others who are purely evil. umm...tiddy? you're forgetting people like shanks who favors the demonic element and Ricky and I who favor the angelic element. Now granted I can deal with whichever theme you want, a neutral guild, an angelic guild, a demonic guild, or a guild with both angelic and demonic themes, but we're trying to satisfy the most number of people so the idea with Scions of Zodiac having multiple interpretations pleases mostly everyone if not all. I already said this, but Scions of Zodiac was originally a guild that would fit both parties, those in favor of neutrality and those in favor of demons and angels. One of the reasons for choosing Scions of Zodiac for a guild name was because it didn't favor any one side. Anyone could interpret it they way they wanted and everyone, or mostly everyone would be happy. That's what I thought anyway...guess people allowed time to alter their view on the thing o.O

Well..for one thing..Fuad isn't a part of SA anymore so i'm having trouble figuring out why he's even here in the first place, but yeah, we already had issues with the moon images I submitted because an image with a moon as its central graphic would coincide with that of another guild (we know of at least one guild already who has this theme) and the entire point of this was to make a guild that was different and unique, so unless the entire guild wants a moon image as the guild emblem, we can assume that entire direction with the moon images has been eliminated. As for Y & Y....don't ask...it's been overrun with people asking for money, xens, and getting plvled. Not sure if we still want to keep y & y affiliated with us when the guild situation is in that state and y & y hardly keeps tabs on its sub-guild anyway. No offense to Bobby, but I think SA and SZ can stand alone without being under the virtually non-existent wing of Ying and Yang. that's just me though...maybe you guys still want ying and yang as a "mother" guild. I've no idea what anyone's thinking anymore lol..x.x

Well i suppose you cant please everybody. Seems as if adding a light or dark theme to a system that you really have to TRY to make it light or dark is just better off left alone. The Zodiac is KNOWN for its neutrality. It has Duality, yes, but not in the aspect of light and/or darkness. Its Duality is simply in seperate ways of thinking. If there is a good/evil theme the name SZ or anything involving the zodiac doesnt quite fit.

Like I said above, the name Zodiac doesnt really fit into an Angelic/Demonic theme. I know a lot of people favor that and if thats what a lot of people want then you might as well save SZ for the name of another guild for the future and pick something more suitable. If you wanted to keep the angelic theme you could have even just kept SA in the first place or just reformed it with a new name. At the rate that this is going this is a brand NEW guild, a chance to branch away for commonplace themes and light/dark cliches. Its so over played >.< Just an opinion though <.<

Once again i will use this as a chance to add some impact to what ive been trying to say lol. Yes, i guess im the type to beat a dead horse but i feel strongly about this. We want a unique guild but isnt light and dark already implemented? Isnt Y&Y itself following that theme? Isnt SA which is still going to be around following that same trend? We are not being innovative atm but i think we have potential. In the end we could make it so everyone is happy and leave it up to the individuals to make the guild just as they wanted but if we end up introducing angelic/demonic themes to the guild rankings then we are just falling into the same routine.

Once again i will use this as a chance to add some impact to what ive been trying to say lol. Yes, i guess im the type to beat a dead horse but i feel strongly about this. We want a unique guild but isnt light and dark already implemented? Isnt Y&Y itself following that theme? Isnt SA which is still going to be around following that same trend? We are not being innovative atm but i think we have potential. In the end we could make it so everyone is happy and leave it up to the individuals to make the guild just as they wanted but if we end up introducing angelic/demonic themes to the guild rankings then we are just falling into the same routine.

oi...like I said..it's your interpretation of it that matters. Scions of Zodiac on the surface sounds like it emphasizes neutrality and it does. Someone could interpret "Zodiac" as the "signs of the Zodiac" so we could say we were "Descendants of the stars" with stars being the constellations which represent the signs of the Zodiac. Completely neutral and doesn't acknowledge any elemental power.

Another interpretation is that Zodiac, from its Greek and Latin roots refers to a "circle of animals" so you could say we are "descendants of animals" which is true since our basic human composition is that of an animal. Humans are animals with the only discrepancy that humans can think and feel; they are intelligent and can rational despite the fact that our bodies are that of an animal and we do have animalistic instincts and tendencies.

Another interpretation is that Zodiac could refer to the Sanskrit "sodi" from the same etymology of the Greek term "zodion". The Sanskrit "sodi" refers to a kind of path. In astrological terms, this "path" could refer to the path of the sun or the path of other celestial bodies (planets, constellations, etc). However, it could also be taken in a different direction. Taking into account that the Greek roots of Zodiac indicate a "circle of animals" and the Sanskrit "sodi" could both be integrated into what could be said as a "path of animals". Omg wow these pictures would actually look nice as an emblem alittle different from Kingdom of heavens emblem but this would nice to have as an emblem the pic with the skull in the middle and the wings around it looks nice

Sheesh...every time someone gets me started on the meanings of Scions of Zodiac I always have to overdo it x.x ..meh...I guess I'll stand down for now since I've a migraine courtesy of my sister being sick for a week and submit my picks for guild emblem. Then I'll see how long I can last training in SoS before I crash ._. At any rate, here are my choices for guild emblem. Since we can't come to an understanding as to what exactly is Scions of Zodiac and since it has too many meanings to begin with anyway, I thought I'd just pick images that have no relevance to Scions of Zodiac at all. The images I selected were from magiik's new set and all of these more or less are entirely irrelevant to any interpretation of SZ which should satisfy everyone's preferences in terms of everyone's understanding of SZ. As for why I picked these particular images over the other new ones..well...I just like these ones more than the other ones lol.....>.<

Lol i didnt mean to upset you OR for anything to be taken personally, which it seems it has. What IM trying to say is that if the guild itself has too many meanings and if anyone can get whatever they want from it then a certain amount of guild unity is lost, as well as any message that we are trying to send. If we have no concrete idea as to what we are, who we are, and what we are trying to accomplish then we are not in any sense a "guild" we are just a group of people who happen to be together. I do recognize the various meanings that you are drawing from this, there is no lack of understanding on my part lol. I see a what and a how but in the end i have yet to see a why. Why must any element be assosiated with good/evil? Why must any power be derived from a godlike source? IMO any power tainted by either light/dark is weakened by said taint because it is an incomplete package. Remaining neutral assures that we can draw strength not from a source of light or dark but from the very elements themselves.

Why is a celestial entity an angel? A divine being? Why do we conclude that there must be two sides of celestial power? It appears that we are grasping at straws and breathing a life into this that cant be supported. I realize that anything can be rationalized if you follow a certain train of thought long enough. Apples are evil. They are grown on trees that are harvested by man who is, by the very nature of man, sinful. He uses the apple to lure little kids into his Dodge Caravan. The apple wanted it to happen because it was prematurely picked and has a grudge against the world. Hence apples are evil. Anything can be treated this way but that doesnt mean that what is being said is accurate. My rationalization was ridiculous and anybody reading it, if they read it with enough common sense, can see that.

I think that there is a certain craving for this light/dark theme and so it is being twisted to fit these needs. Thats not to say that there is anything wrong with the theme itself, just the way it is trying to be presented. Though in the end thats a horse of a whole nother color rofl

You're implying that my rationalization is immature and nonsensical and for someone who talks of "guild unity" you sure seem intent on shattering that unity with a single idea which may conflict with what other people want. The original intention of SZ was to bring us closer together and expand that "family". How can you possibly believe that by forcing others to unify under a single idea will be beneficial? You might as well call the guild a dictatorship where a single person dictates what is what. That was NOT the intention of Scions of Zodiac. The intention was to bring us together using a single project; the project of the construction of Scions of Zodiac. We all agreed that we as a team, as a family, would work together to make this guild. Yet you seem to want to take the guild into some sort of monarchy where only your idea rules and everyone else's ideas are utter rubbish, and that is FAR from the truth.

ugh...yeah..all this spam is getting ridiculous. This thread is only meant to be for the construction of SZ. NOT for spam. Either shove it someplace else or don't bother writing it at all. We've a number of threads already solely for spam. we only have a few threads that are dedicated to the construction of the new guild, so don't waste your time and ours with your spam when some people are actually trying to get work done. Magiik asked everyone to post your top three images from the list of images on the first page of this thread. Either do that and help create SZ or get the heck out. I apologize now for my rudeness since at this point I can't exactly keep my frustration/anger/desire to break something in check, so I kindly ask you to bear with me until things calm down a bit.

There can be no one meaning of Scions of Zodiac; only a number of interpretations which hold no rule over another. So don't be so quick to disregard other people's ideas. If you were a true leader, you would find ways to bridge everyone's ideas together to create the final product rather than just throwing everyone's ideas away. I know you are anxious to create this guild, and there are a lot of people who are there with you on that account, but don't think for a second that your interpretation rules over the others when the name Scions of Zodiac is too abstract to have a single definitive meaning.

Your doing exactly what you say i do. Shall we all bow down to Queen Angel? Im all up for individual interpretation and this isnt MY guild, ive decided that i really want nothing to do with it because your shooting down my opinion the same way that you claim i shoot down yours. But i will stay because the guild needs me to play devils advocate at least. I see myself as the voice of reason <.<. They only had a pickup truck.
They drove on the highway.
Everything flew out.
All the stuff was gone.

Uhhmmm not sure that was the best to explain... ok plain and simple. In order to move we MUST have peace. We need to fix everything up before it all comes crashing down. Before we disperse out >.<. I guess that helps.... ok in time all wounds heal. Not sure if i helped or not....

And everyone get along, angel is right in that regard. We are here for a group effort. So lets all respect each others opinons in what they have to offer to our guild. Being at each others throats will just slow us down.
Believe me I know. I've been trying to bridge together everyone's ideas from the very beginning because no one can say for certain what Scions of Zodiac means; its meaning lies on a plane of existence which can't be grasped by the human mind. Therefore, any interpretation of Scions of Zodiac could be true as long as the reasoning behind it makes sense. How am I shooting your opinion down when I made it clear that I WAS NOT promoting a single idea but a group of ideas together in combination with each other to make a solid guild? I "shot" you down because you took what I said basically equated it with this ridiculous rationalization.

Again, that was EXACTLY what I was doing. Bridging together Tiddy's idea of neutrality with the ideas that other people had about the guild. SZ is an abstract idea and it is impossible to impose a single concrete definition onto an idea that is abstract. All those interpretations that I've been saying are what people COULD believe should they choose to take SZ in that direction, and in a sense, those beliefs could hold true. I support Tiddy's idea of neutrality AND the other ideas that others have. Some people want neutrality and i'm fine with that. Some people want to have another dark/light theme and I'm okay with that too. I wanted a guild where ALL those ideas could be used together yet here I am being ridiculed by someone who only wants one concrete meaning for the guild which won't work. Like you said, you can't call a dog a cat and you can't make an abstract idea a concrete idea. I'm trying to accept everyone's ideas and trying to bridge those ideas together to form a single ultimate idea.

If there's a problem with trying to accept everyone's ideas instead of a single idea than I'm sorry, but it makes no difference to me anymore, seeing as how I have finals bearing down on me along with other rl issues that i have to resolve. I'll withdraw from the SZ project for now since any further attempts to promote everyone's ideas to satisfy everyone will most likely result to more fighting and as magiik said, we've come too far to break everything apart. Tiddy, if you're still looking at all this then get the heck back here.

As for whoever's left in the guild that's supporting SZ, I'll have to ask you to continue the development of SZ without me until finals week is done and over with. I'll be in the game every now and then so don't worry about me leaving completely. I'm just going to take a break from the construction of SZ until this matter is resolved without me.

I wasn't called heartless b**** for nothing you know....those who've talked to me enough know by now who and what I was in the past and how that side of me still takes over me from time to time. But like I said, I only attack when provoked and i regarded Tiddy's post as an attack since it implied I had no common sense for trying to support everyone's ideas. I have no intention of making Scions of Zodiac a concrete idea when clearly it is an abstract idea with multiple meanings behind it. If wanting this makes me lack common sense then I'm sorry but I will fight against that claim. If anything, it makes me an idealistic where I see the perfect guild as one that satisfies all people, no matter how they interpret it but it doesn't mean i have no sense at all. Again, I apologize for the posst prior to Tiddy's supposed attack on me ("supposed" being that I misunderstood the post and retaliated on the assumption that it was an attack when it wasn't meant to be one) and if necessary, I'll remove myself from the SZ project entirely. My hands are tied anyway thanks to finals and the fact that i still haven't signed up for classes yet. I've a lot of work to do and I can't focus on that and SZ at the same time, so if you want to get things done without me, go ahead. I'll even encourage it after what just happened. I'll be back full-time after the 19th. I'll still keep in touch with everyone on my YIM buddy list and show up in SoS randomly but I can't put the entirety of my focus on the guild when I've too much stuff to worry about in real life. Sorry if this inconveniences anything but yeah...I'll be leaving the SZ project until I can fully dedicate myself to it, which will be in about two weeks.

btw, the purpose of this thread was to select images for the guild emblem and no one has selected their three images yet X.x So if you can just ignore this entire spat that has taken up the majority of this thread and select your favorite images that you want for the guild emblem, it'll make magiik's job much easier when we finally vote on the emblem and we can make SZ sooner. I personally like # 1 the most i think the overall design would be a nice emblem to have for this guild ^^. I like how the turquoise blends in with the wings as well as the dark colors on the bottom. I like this picture very much since teal and turquoise are my favorite colors ^^ .the 2nd and 3rd are good as well. if majority pick the other 2 i have as well thats fine too ^^

lmao ok, create guild, transfer the secific peeps, then as for emblem & ranks those can be decided later, there not neccessary atm. Rules are standard, they'll b similar to SA rules, tho with some slight variations.

And i think because every1 posted there top 3 emblems, we should select jus 1 of the three emblem for each submission to further minimize the choices we have.

ohh wow that wing picture actually looks really nice. idk if tiddy and magiik would want it though for an emblem since it gives an angelic theme rather a balance neutral theme but iot looks really nice though ^^

LOl shanks give me 11 hours im getting almost everyones vote on their favorite emblem. its still anything goes i have a list piling up as i speak. what ill do is ill post everyones vote in a comment at 8 p.m pst tonight just give me alittle time on this that way we have solid proof of what emblem everyone wants there are a couple that chose a different emblem so well see ^^

There are thirteen espers and three of them will have to be removed. If you want to use idea for the guild ranks, we'll have to figure out which three will be removed and figure out what powers will be associated with each esper name/guild rank.

Well..the problem with image 11 is that it looks like an angel. mhmm ok we oculd scrap emblem 11, and those who voted for No.5 im tellin u from now and tha same goes for any1 who voted an emblem with a moon init or some sort of planet that it ain't happnin -_- no moons, we said no moons, and now im sayin one more time no moon like emblems -_- so that all clear then? ahh all good no MOONS then xDDD

Well this is my first time back in the forums lol I was able to scrape up a bit of wireless on my laptop by driving around town..<.< not a good enough signal to get into the game though *sigh*

SO it looks like some progress has been made, not a ton but at least there is an emblem picked out for the most part. Youll hear no argument from me at this stage, I could care less about angel wings in the emblem, they could be sparrow wings and not bother me at this point >.< And truth be told, i didnt think anything angelic when i saw the pic. I just thought hey, that looks kinda cool. Haha for all we know theyre chicken feathers :p

And since i wasnt going to be around for the creative process i withdrew myself from the SZ project before i left lolz. So if the fancy really takes you there...make it light/dark rofl. I believe i was actually one of the few contenders against it, most everyone else either wanted the good/evil theme or really didnt care one way or the other ^^ The only person who felt the same way i did was...Magiik <3 haha

And im really happy to see a much more unified front for this whole ordeal, it looks like a good portion of the guild is now starting to take a larger roll in things and making an effort to have a say. I love it xD

eh heh....Well, like I told everyone when I presented the image, that image is from a CD called Orbital Period. It's supposed to be like a celestial body (not an actual body but like a mass or something...dunno how to explain it..x.x) but most people when they first look at it associate it with an angel which was why there was some debate on using it or not. And...it's..funny that you mention "chicken feathers" cuz..uh...eh heh...well..you can look up the CD Orbital Period yourself online if you're curious..might be better if people didn't know where it actually came from but since most people don't even know the band that produced Orbital Period, they prolly wouldn't make the connection anyway lol.

lol. Yeah, I think it was just you and Magiik that fully supported neutrality. Everyone else was either indifferent or wanted a light/dark theme. I've just been supporting whatever the majority says. Whether the majority wants a neutral guild or a light/dark guild, I'd be happy with either one. My original position was just accepting both themes so that everyone could be satisfied but from the looks of things...a lot of people either want a light/dark theme or don't really care what theme SZ is x.x

And im really happy to see a much more unified front for this whole ordeal, it looks like a good portion of the guild is now starting to take a larger roll in things and making an effort to have a say. I love it xD^^ well, that is the entire point of SZ in the first place, strengthening the bonds of friendship that we have with each other and get more people to join the big dysfunctional family XD

yep, and my squire's going over to SA since my cleric has temporarily taken over Devil's Rejects until someone responsible can take over for me. I found a website that was created solely for Devil's Rejects....didn't realize the mess extended so much...I completely underestimated how much damage the previous members made. "We are a war guild that will crush any opposing guild to dust. We will obliterate anyone that stands in our way" and the stupid website just kept prattling on about how strong they were and kept spouting this ridiculous arrogant crap that I really don't care for...so...yeah...only now just starting to realize the entirety of the destruction that's been left in the previous members' wake....gonna be really fun trying to tell everyone that DR is no longer a guild that is full of arrogant people that prey on weaklings.....this sure is gonna be reeeeeaaaal fun...definitely have my work cut out for me T_T

I found a website that was created solely for Devil's Rejects....didn't realize the mess extended so much...I completely underestimated how much damage the previous members made. We will obliterate anyone that stands in our way" and the stupid website just kept prattling on about how strong they were and kept spouting this ridiculous arrogant crap that I really don't care for...so...yeah...only now just starting to realize the entirety of the destruction that's been left in the previous members' wake....gonna be really fun trying to tell everyone that DR is no longer a guild that is full of arrogant people that prey on weaklings.....this sure is gonna be reeeeeaaaal fun...definitely have my work cut out for me T_T

speaking of havoc i saw like a guild war yesterday, Apocalypse were like pawning, i think it was them Vs Adrenaline. And i think some other guilds allied itselft with them, my guild remained neutral lol and im glad about that lmao Apc were unstoppable haha xD

and about tha guild notice, hades was online yesterday lol, i saw him online in guild, i saw him do shouts, and i saw him in PvP for a lil while lolz~

ROFL bwhahahaha finally adrenaline got what they deserved. man im not to fond of their fighting style.( team uup and gang up on ppl thats not right) well i guess its just me preferring the old fasion one on one style of fighting i guess. but i wont forget spamming like 500 sc pots just to stay alive and yet i died lol but i think it left a good enough mark on their face for a while to stay alive for 5-10 mins straight XD i know shanks and yoshi remembers that moment lol well like i said i can always get more sc pots if i feel like it

but its drama like that i dont go to pvp unless theres a reason for me to go or if someone wants me too

Hey what can i say Shanks. the Main GM should be there for the opening of SZ dont you think ^^ all gms of SA should be there too at least for the opening as well.
