pls change the titlte to "questions for gms" or sumthing more appropriate for the thread content

pls do not move this to guild section because then no one will see it
(a gm pls answer these specifically, not vaguely lik all answers you guys giv us)

THIS THREAD IS NOT MEANT AS A COMPLAINT (its just some questions i need asnwering by some1 reliable preferrably those knowledgable about what really happens with translation and stuff
HINT: GMs )

What are guilds for?

why do we have them?

why is the mindset of most guilds " build an empire" ?
NOTE: most guilds seem to be think that they need a lot of branches
(can be answered by normal players)

why do ppl think think they have to have the highest lvl ppl in their guild?
(answer by normal players)

what will the guilds xp donate system be for?

why isnt there a lvl tier system for PvP?

why do we have xenning failures?(xen drops are so rare that they should always be succeeds)

why do we get crappy sc stuff as prizes?

The biggest question of all......

WHY ISNT SOTS COMPLETED YET? you guys have remaked the forums, main website, made new games (blackshot, and dat snowboard game) but still havent completed Sots although its clear a lot of ppl seem to be interested in the game and is spending a lot of money in it

What are guilds for?
- What are guilds for in any game? For players to show some kind of unity to a group. Even before guilds came out people were banding themselves into unofficial guilds. Only seems fair that we get a feature a lot of people requested.

why do we have them?
- Because people asked for them.

why is the mindset of most guilds " build an empire" ?
NOTE: most guilds seem to be think that they need a lot of branches
(can be answered by normal players)
- Because 25 people per guild is a very tight restriction.

why do ppl think think they have to have the highest lvl ppl in their guild?
(answer by normal players)
- If you went into a guild war would you rather have all level 16 players in your guild?

what will the guilds xp donate system be for?
- Was announced when guilds were released that it would go towards Guild Skill.

why isnt there a lvl tier system for PvP?
- Because we never asked for one until after PvP came out. It would take them time, even if they acknowledged the need for, to create a new system.

why do we have xenning failures?(xen drops are so rare that they should always be succeeds)
- So you think people should run around wearing +10/6ap gear and tanking just about everything in existence?

why do we get crappy sc stuff as prizes?
- If you ran a company in which it was optional for people to pay for your services, wouldn't you try to advertise your wares with free samples? Seems to be pretty sound, standard business practice to me.

The biggest question of all......

- It's been stated at least once every 2 weeks that DNC (not Outspark), the developers of this game, are the ones responsible for programming the updates and game content. Outspark did not "make" new games, it licensed them. Remaking forums and main website probably takes all of about a few day of coding, whereas a game could take years. So no, it's not really a big question, quite simply it's that programming takes TIME. And if you don't believe that then you should consider the fact that this game is currently about 2 gigs or so in size. 1 kb of programming alone could easily take a few hours even with pre-written code and tools. So you do the math.

1. ppl wont be running around wearing +10 ap6 gears because everyone will be keeping their xens intead of selling them and beacuse the drop rate is so low there wont be many chances for enhancing

also those who go to events wer xens are given as prizes will really be happy that they bought sc beacause they basically get +3 def/att per char that has sc items

2. LOL if there will ever be wars between guilds, there would have been one already (there is a guild PvP -.-)

3. its really great advertising givng out mystical glases that giv +3 crit....
and a bear hat that lasted 3 days, and santa hat that wasnt worth wearing since it geives less defense than a sky helm and people pay good money for this game why wouldnt they giv better prizes? i would think that as they giv out slightly better stuff (make em last longer) more ppl would actually like the products and buy more sc items

4. add up all those time taken to renew the web/forums/"licensing" 2 more games and making them open beta (which includes fixing glitches/bugs/advertisement/ and etc) and you got yourself plenty of TIME to translate more stuff for this game

5. and what exactly is the guild skill?

What on earth are you talking about? If Xens didn't fail everyone would be using theirs the second they get them. People would still sell them at probably several times the price if they didn't fail. That's just basic economics. Players who over the year have amassed a massive collection of xens (and I assure you there are quite a few) would go right ahead and use them all up and be able to tank the hardest maps in the game.

2. LOL if there will ever be wars between guilds, there would have been one already (there is a guild PvP -.-)

Clearly you don't pay attention to yellow egg shouts or have any idea about the community politics of this game.

They could infact just not have events at all, or give players who buy Sparkcash even MORE of an advantage over non-sparkcash paying players by releasing these kinds of things. Are you suggesting that this game should be even more cash-shop oriented?

4. add up all those time taken to renew the web/forums/"licensing" 2 more games and making them open beta (which includes fixing glitches/bugs/advertisement/ and etc) and you got yourself plenty of TIME to translate more stuff for this game

...what part of "OUTSPARK DIDN'T DEVELOP THIS GAME THEY ONLY LICENSE IT, THAT'S WHY YOU SEE THE DNC LOGO WHEN YOU START UP THE GAME" aren't you understanding? You don't have the slightest clue how programming or Outspark works, do you?

1. how long did u say ppl ammased their xens? a year? then i guess it will take that long to get +10 gears then.......... (-_-) and people will not even sell them because they would want great gears that they would not have to buy when they get to that lvl

2. ok you win this issue since i dont care what politics are happening in the game it is after all A GAME

3. why would sc users buy such crappy stuff that they give as prizes? (youre not making yourelf clear when you say "release" do u mean release in game or release in cashshop?)

LOL 0 events = 0 interest = 0 people playing = 0 people buying sc = 0 profit
as is happening already less ppl go to events since they are not worth going to

4. LOL u said it yourself programming takes time, i inferred from that and said " instead of remaking the web/forums/etc they could have been improving the game" . That means DNC is wasting their time remaking webs instead of improving the game.

NOTE: i didnt even mention Outspark in the original post. I said "you" meaning whoever translated/ licensed/ programmed the game. I didint put the blame on a single person or group since i know everyone has a part in making this game what it is.

5. you forgot to adress the last part of my 2nd post " What is the guild skill?"

LOL didnt i say at the top pf the post " gms reply pls specifically not vaguely" or sumthin like that(only 2 of my questions were really answerable by normal players)

Since all you clearly want to do is argue about facts and you're making arguments without even knowing HOW this game is run, I wouldn't be surprised if you never get an answer from a GM on this.

what an enlightened, knowledgeable, intelligent mind...........

Ummm, okay I will take a shot at this. First Outspark is responsible for the forums, website, cash shop, ect. While DNC is responsible for the actual game. Your original post implied that you felt the time spent updating the website and such should have been spent updating the game. Catry tried to explain that there are different companies handling the web site, forums ect, so it did not pull resources off the game, also the other games Outspark publish are not DNC games, so any work going into developing them also involve different people. You may not have mentioned Outspark or DNC by name, but you seemed to infer you felt the same people were involved and were wasting their time and resources. Simply put, the people who build and maintain the website, forums, and cash shop are NOT the people who update the game, they don't even work for the same company.

We don't really know what the guild skill will be yet.

Not all guilds only want high level players, several I know of specifically recruit players below level 40. Originally most guilds recruited over a certain level because it was really annoying to put someone in a guild only to have them quit the game, give up on one character and create another of a different class, then want to put them into the guild instead, ect. It was generally figured that if you invest the time and effort to hit level 50+ you might stick it out for a while. Guild let you hang out in game with people you like or at least have a common interest with.

I don't understand what you are talking about with xens either. Xens are nowhere near as rare as they were a year ago. Lost bryn and the library drop them fairly regularly. We get them as prizes fairly often in events. I have heard that the failure rate will be adjusted. 100% xen success rate seems really bad for the game economy and a really bad idea to me though. Besides, there has to be a goal, something to strive for. What about the poor guy who has really good luck going to +5's. What would happen to him, what would his claim to fame be if everyone could go +10 with no chance of failure. How special is that +6 6ap wizard staff if anyone can make one now? If things are too easy, they don't mean anything when you get them. That's why I don't get pleveling I guess.

As for event prizes, usually I don't attend an even for the prize, there are exceptions, xens for instance, but mostly I go if it sounds fun or interesting, otherwise I go about my business unless the lag drags me down. It would really be hard, in my opinion, to pick a s.c. prize to benefit the entire range of player levels. With the exception of pots, which I have gotten as prizes in the past, what would benefit my Priest? Usually any event prize like that gets past down to an alt. Some of the nicer prizes have been angel wings, bunny ears, ect. Special events and seasonal ones, you wear the prize in town to show you did the event and go back to your armor in the field. It's a FUN thing. Plus something "crappy" to my priest might be beneficial to my level 30 squire.

What are guilds for?
- Like Kit said, there've always been unofficial groups/cliques/guilds - might as well make it official.

why do we have them?
- The community asked for it, and now we have the basic functions of a guild available to us: guild chat, guild emblems, ability to locate guildmates.

why is the mindset of most guilds " build an empire" ?
NOTE: most guilds seem to be think that they need a lot of branches
(can be answered by normal players)
- Again, like Kit said, 25 is a restrictive maximum. Some guilds have no trouble keeping themselves to 25 people, but there are the more popular guilds that either boot people to make room - or make more to accommodate them all.

why do ppl think think they have to have the highest lvl ppl in their guild?
(answer by normal players)
- For guild war purposes and because being a certain level shows a certain commitment to the game; they aren't just going to up and leave because they've invested time into the game. Other guilds are not level-oriented and are just groups of friends that are, relatively speaking, lower level... or lower levels that have grown together to higher level.

what will the guilds xp donate system be for?
- Guild skills, which is an unknown as of now.

why isnt there a lvl tier system for PvP?
- This is not something the GMs of SoS have seen fit to push DNC to create a coding for.

why do we have xenning failures?(xen drops are so rare that they should always be succeeds)
- Because they are not as rare as you think they are; it would simply be too easy to run around in +10 gears. Perfection is to be a work in progress and something to strive for, not something easily obtainable by a lot of players in the game right now if 100% success rate were to be implemented.

why do we get crappy sc stuff as prizes?
- As someone who believes SC items shouldn't even have stats on them, it's not really a big deal for me. I believe that's the same reason they don't give out the really good items. Events are supposed to be for fun and I really liked my Santa Hat. It was fun to wear, to show people I did the event and because it was cute... and I know enough people that got the Xen Stone that wished they had gotten the Santa Hat instead.

WHY ISNT SOTS COMPLETED YET? you guys have remaked the forums, main website, made new games
- It isn't the same group of people that make the game and that have remade the website/forum/published new games - as Kit tried to explain to you not once, but twice, and now taz and I are trying a third and fourth time. I guess I'll try to elaborate next time if you're still confused. o_O
