Ok, so I saw the movie before I started reading the books.
After starting the books I can understand some of the addiction, its well written and really brings the reader into the story.
As for the movie? I thought it was poorly directed, cheesy (I'm sorry wasn't his skin supposed to shine like a prism? He glittered...like literally...gold glitter), and the make up artist seemed to have some issues making the vampire look 'natural'. It seemed like a B list movie.
That said, I think that perhaps under a different director the movie could have done very well.

I read the book way before watchin' the movie actually i had huge expectations about this twilight film but even though some people say it's been great still I think there's nothing compared to reading the original plot from the book as the author language is awesome *winks*

I think part of the reason there were so many issues and discrepancies with the movie is that the producers were in such a rush to get it out while Twilight was still a big craze that they didn't put the time and effort into it in order to really pull it off.

I read the books long before the movie and I do enjoy them more, but I did enjoy the movie as well. I understand a lot of things got cut and a scene was placed in, but they had to fit a 500+ page book into a 100 page screenplay and they didn't have that great of a budget. I mean..it's not Harry Potter.^_^

I liked the books, but not the movie. was a bit disappointed with it. why? because they twisted around some stuff and left out some parts. that's why I always say the book is always better than the movie. But the movie sorta expanded my imagination on the characters and the setting in my mind.

Since I'm not a Twilight fan, I shouldn't be posting here huh? LOL.
Anyways, the movie wasn't the worst, but it had really funny (hilarious coz there are stupid shots/angles) moments. Some scenes were just .... <no comment>. Though in fairness to the movie, I enjoyed it. I <3 jasper. and his constipated look xD !
The movie could have been A LOT better.
The book is a fun read nonetheless. It's still fairly interesting but that's because I haven't read other vampire novels, so the things I thought were new in this series, were actually reuse of old concepts about vampire so yeah, now I'm not that much impressed with the book.
I find the characters boring especially Bella. No real faults in their characters, major example is Edward. Though I've only read the first book, maybe the other three books have improved. I'm planning to read them later. Anyway from the first book, I found things too annoyingly convenient. It gave me some impressions of Deus Ex Machina-effect like how Edward "conveniently" saves Bella, and how "conveniently" Bella always get herself into some trouble. *rolls eyes*
Also, as a friend has put it wisely, their love story is rather shallow and kinda unbelievable. Well in the first book, Edward fell in love with Bella because she smelled good (as a meal??) and that he can't read her thoughts? hmmm... sure is believable for a 100+ year old vampire. lmao. And bella what did she like about edward? (he's so beautiful... beautiful.. handsome... ya i get it bella okay stop pointing it out already)
So those are the aspects I did not enjoy, but the book still as I've said is a fun read and was interesting enough for me to finish the story :)

Ok, I'm going to be honest and put my feelings on the subject forward. I dislike the idea of it because the lore I was raised with on vampires, does not include vampires twinkling in the sun and playing baseball. That's not to say I dislike people who enjoy Twilight, however, I can't see myself ever taking any enjoyment in it due to my experiences with the idea of a vampire.

Murdered the fudge out of them.
._. Hence why I don't bother with the books. I'm into the actual 'lore' about them, not this pretty boy st00f. c:

I read the books and was almost instantly swept off my feet. I'm not much of a romance lover, but this one seemed almost real to me. The writing itself was beautifully done, and had a mind snatching flow.
I was sorely disappointed with the movie. A few friends and I went to see it, and we couldn't focus because of the constant overdone awkward stretches, and cheesy scenes. We laughed the entire movie, and regretted the money we spent on it.

I suppose there's some sort of sublime irony in necromancing a thread about undead creatures...

Two sides to every coin. Now, although I do enjoy the old conception of vampires, I like that someone is trying to escape the conformist idea of "OMG EVIL. RAWR RAWR RAWR RAWR." I understand your viewpoint, and sure.. they're not pillaging demons, which has it's time and place, it's a new breed.

A new useless teen pop drama breed, wait till Akon or someone else just as lame becomes a vampire...just wait...

Appealing to the demographic is never useless, it's intelligent money making.. You don't have to approve, in the grand scheme of things, your opinion doesn't matter to the publishers.
