Are you able to travel all over the Map? Like to the forest in the top right and stuff? I would love to do that, but not sure if I will be able to...

You can travel anywhere you want but be ready to die. A level one could go to Uruga (provided they had the right things needed to get there) and go to Ancient Elven Woods if you wanted.
However most monsters aggro outside of the first few newbie zones. Hint: Instant death.
