Alright,
this is by no means a flame thread, as like 99% of my other threads. So flamers, if you start, i will flame you to death.
Topic of discussion is Lock Down.
As far as i know, there is no such option available in outspark.. yet. Although there is the ban function, there is not hibernation mode available. For the players who would like to take a break from online games and go play playstation or something else or some real life activities, but have invested a lot in their accounts, and fear to be hacked, hibernation is good.
Of course, to reduce players hibernating on a whim, this function must be made available only with money. I do realise that such a function is impossible to be implemented ingame, since onsonsoft doesn't have this function at all. That's why this function can only be implemented on the website.
GMs and CsRs can always recommend the following, :
1) don't give/share your account and information to/with any one else.
Now, this is a problem, actually. In my gaming history spanning more than a decade, since Ultima Online and ever after. Even if we do not share/give information about our accounts, there is always the factor known as hackers.
I will state a not so recent example. In 2004, there is a game known as MU Online. During maintenance of servers, the hacker managed to slip unnoticed into server databases and make a copy of them. He released the user database onto google. Many lives were lost, ingame and in real life. Some players went for a vacation and returned to their accounts only to find out that its emptied of everything.
Now, the method which i will suggest is a skeleton format. It roughly goes like this.
1) I decided to take a vacation.
2) I pm a CsR on forum.
3) i requested lockdown on my account.
4) And i pay using methods as listed in outspark store.
5) i will be given a number which i must keep properly, and an email will be sent to me. If i ever lost my email or the number i was given, it will be entirely my own fault.
6) when i finally decided to get my account back, i will need to pm CsR again, with the number and whatever other forms of authenication, and pay again for the account to be reactivated.
As far as i know, there is no function for lockdown. So the management can just ban the account permanently and put a note that it was not actually banned, but is in hibernation.
In this way, players can have no fear that their account will be hacked and all their investments lost. If an account can be hacked after it is locked down, it will be entirely outspark's fault, and they will have much more serious problems to handle.
Alright, the above is just a small idea which can be known as "insuring your gaming experience" or "buying insurance for your online games".
regards
