Not so Random Upgrades?

Do upgrades fail more often on more expensive equipment? is it harder to get a +3 level 20 weapon than a +3 level 1 weapon? should the system be changed ?

there's only ONE change I would make to the system, and that is that I would allow you to put out as many elrue, lix, or xir as you can afford to increase your odds. if you can afford 8 elrue per try, you deserve your +3, same with lix for +6, and xir for +9. if you can AFFORD that much Elrue, you should be able to use it to guarantee success!!

Your suggestion might be a little overpowered when upgrading high level weapons where 30c for 8 elrue (240c an upgrade) is nothing.

you're right, I talked it over with my wife some, and she swayed my thinking a bit. I still think you should be able to increase your odds, but I think there should be a limit to how many extra stones you can use, like 4, or 6, or maybe a limit of 8-1 per weapon level up until you can only place 2.
