Ugh....Sorry..I couldn't take it any more. I was gonna refrain from doing this but there were too many people shouting crap at the GMs today after the reindeer event that I felt inclined to say something about it X.x

To all the GMs of SoS....just ignore the people who speak crap to you. You guys work hard to make the game fun and every time there's an event there's always going to be people complaining over something stupid like "I couldn't find the deer" or "I didn't get any items". There will always be spoiled brats whining to you about some trifling thing so don't let it get you down or affect you negatively. You guys put a lot of time and effort in the game and you do a lot for the SoS community and there ARE people who are grateful for all you do. I hope that despite all the ungratefulness of the players, you guys realize that people do appreciate what you do for the community.

It definitely wasn't fair that people were attacking Murdock today cuz they didn't get any items. If they ever learned to show an ounce of gratitude for once in their lives maybe things would be different but unfortunately the majority of our society is compromised of whiny little kids and adults that just are never satisfied with anything. So please, don't let the ungratefulness of the SoS players get to you. They just have this silly notion that you guys are supposed to give them everything to them on some silver platter when that definitely isn't the case. And when they come to grips with that fact they start whining and complaining like little children. You won't be able to satisfy everyone on SoS cuz a good number of them are either greedy or ungrateful so don't let it affect you negatively. Just keep doing what you're doing and hopefully SOME people will realize how much effort you put into the game and be appreciative of it.

Well, that's my "rant" I guess. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I just want to say thanks to the GMs for doing your best. Keep up the good work ^^

Just keep putting forth the good effort, GMs. There are those of us who do appreciate it.

I agree. The GMs do a really good job. They aren't obliged to follow up on your every single desire. x_x

finding the deer and getting the items was the whole point of the event!
if u ask me the the events are getting worse, the events aren't fun anymore and all we did in this event is spend an hour running to a map to get wood and leather....

y can't we have anymore rock paper scissors events or pvp events or mighty trek, they we all fun to do and sometimes gave out stuff only gms could give away, now all the events just require us to run somewhere....

Mighty Trek event I recall many complaints. I think we all need to give the GM's a break considering we lost yet another one and the staff is short. I don't want to lose another GM because they get tired of the constant hate and none love. I appreciate the fact they get on after hours and on off days to even bother with being so personal with our community. You don't get that with other games.

I appreciate you GM's very much and hope that things will get easier for you so your job doesn't become a place you don't care to go to.

Uh, I loved getting the wood and leather. They're items I need for that darn pet quest, and I need them more than dumb xen stones!

Also, if you didn't try to get the items the deer DROPPED, then that's your own fault. It was incredibly obvious where the deer was headed, so it's not like you could have fallen behind and lost him forever.

I'm thankful that we have events at all, especially ones at times that I can attend, and ones that don't require sparkcash [since outspark still has my 20$ @_x;!!! ] AND I'm thankful that the prize wasn't a random sparkcash item. ;)
Especially that it wasn't one of those hideous christmas tree / snowman hats. rofl. xD

Seeing Murdock's reaction to all the complaints I wouldn't be shocked if we lose another one really soon. It's funny how much the community shoots itself in the foot with all this whining. It's like people DON'T want this game to progress...

yeah....that definitely wasn't fair to him. Those whiners really did a number on him with their complaints and attacks....If SoS is going to be reduced to nothingness all because of a bunch of ungrateful brats well...*cries* so not cool....and yeah...we've already lost a number of GMs. Cretz and I think there were a few more before him...SoS would be damaged beyond recognition if more GMs continue to leave but the community isn't helping with all their negative comments. If they were in the GMs' shoes for one day they definitely wouldn't do any better. If they could just realize that then maybe SoS would progress much further rather than having development grind to a stand-still. The community just expects too much..blinded by some silly notion that the GMs are gods who have the power to satisfy every single player's wants and needs. And when they realize that the GMs are only human and can't fulfill the mostly ridiculous requests of the people, they start pouting and whining and attacking the GMs. It's sooo wrong and these people need to realize just how much damage their selfishness is doing to the game before it crumbles entirely.

Perma-ban anyone who complains over something stupid imo. :3 But yea, if i were a GM, i probably would've flipped by now. Guess it's a good thing i'm not one.

Yup, i have to agree, give the Gms a break, they are trying to do there best, its not like they need to do all the stuff they do for us. All the ppl who keep whining about something or another jus need to shut up for once.

I missed an event where they gave out wood and leather? Sigh, my luck having to work late. Anyway, everyone always whines about how the old events were better, but most of the complaints I hear seem to be "didn't get a prize, or couldn't complete the event." I don't remember the older events, and I attended many, being easier or of guaranteed prizes for participating. If anything just the opposite, we have more events now where you win just by showing up. This is a new team of gm's hosting events. There will be a learning curve, so cut them some slack. Besides, if you think the events aren't fun, DON'T GO TO THEM. It's not required, you can quest or grind, or if the event generates lag for you, lurk on the formus until it's over.

If we lose another GM, development on the game will slow, and worse we might lose the events. Whether you like them or not, they are something to do, a break in the routine, and losing them will adversely affect the game. Plus if we keep running GM's off, the company may decide the GM's need less player contact not more. I am not saying we shouldn't complain or point out problems, don't flame me, but before you do please:

1) Make sure it's a legitamite issue, unless the event description specificly said everyone who shows up gets a prize, not getting a prize isn't a legitimate complaint, dcing during an event isn't either, however getting unfairly booted would be.

2) Try to read about the event on the forums or portal site before hand and pay attention to the GM shouts. Every event I have attended for the last 3 months has been filled with people egging the GM because they have no idea what they are doing even though the event description clearly explained everything and so did the gm.

3) When making a complaint, suggestions, reporting an issue, do it by pming a gm on the forums or by emailing support. Don't try to report it in game during the event unless it's something major about the event. For instance the loss of experience during the recent POX.

4) Keep it on topic. If the GM is hosting an event, don't try to talk to him about an issue from 2 days ago, your idea for an event, scheduling your wedding, ect. He or she can't do anything about that now, and once again there is a set procedure to address the issue. Find out what it is and use it.

Let's try to keep Murdock, people. And why don't we try to be extra fun to be around, so maybe the GM's want to work on our game instead of all the others?

For instance the loss of experience during the recent POX.

Can I interject here for a moment?
As a long standing player of Solstice, and as one who has played nearly every event less and except the PvP events, I would like to first say to the GMs THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK!
Now, that aside, I'll get to my point. This last Pursuit of Xen was, in ways, both a success, and a failure. There were many of us who walked away from the event with more Xens than most people who play ever see at once, but there was also many who left without even finding one.
Why?
For as far back as I can recall, Pursuit of Xen has been an event where you lose experience!
Also, why have you (the GMs) changed the Pursuit of Xen event? To accomodate lower level players? That's really the most cookie-cutter and lamest excuse ever. What happened to the Starbears? Granted, the higher levels cannot get very many Xens from such low level monsters, but separate zones to kill mobs has been done in the past and worked just fine! It was very apparent that not all the monsters in each tier dropped Xens, and that was also not good, because some people catch on to this fact early and kill every enemy that drops Xens before other, less attuned players even realise what had just happened. Let's not forget that AoE was never allowed in this event because not everyone has an AoE. Another thing, and I hate to turn my entire post into a rant about just one event here, but why create tiers for Pursuit of Xen? You give higher levelled players the advantage here in every way shape and form by allowing us to use four characters to get Xens. You should have kept it like always where the four tiers all go at the same time, and thus make it less crammed full of people each tier, and thus more people have a better chance of getting more Xens, rather than a few skilled players collecting WAY more than otherwise possible.
But that is just the opinion of someone who has been around for a while.

BACK ON TOPIC: I wonder how many people who play the game actually come to and speak their minds the forums? I would dare say less than a fraction of the majority. Because of this, people will be ignorant, and want to cause trouble because some others talk about how the game only changes when people come together to gripe about something...
Call me crazy but that sounds like reaping the seeds that are sown.

We can discuss this issue all we want here and still the outcome will be the same, because not everyone will be satisfied, and because it isn't very good business to not listen to the dissatisfied people, GMs will keep taking the resentment to heart. And well, the rest will be history.
Again, thank you those who make this game possible.
Just know that some of us are rooting for you, if that makes and ifference at all.

The great thing is the GM's do look at the forums and they will know that not everyone is complaining. That not everyone is mad about something. That there are actually players who appreciate the good they do and give them the benefit of the doubt when something goes wrong

I'd just like to say, if it wasn't for the GM's there wouldn't be any events at all, so thanks for that you guys ^^. But also without this criticism/complaining they get, they wouldn't be able to change the events and hopefully perfect the way they are done in the future and to keep the majority of the community happy.

Hello Solstice Players!

Thank you all for your support of Outspark and the remaining GM's as we maintain a quality status at bringing you fresh events along with some oldies but goodies events back from the past AND new game content that is on it's way. :D

You know something GMs do the best they can. Imagine being a parent with thousands of kids(try to pls them all none the least). Some players will be happy and others you can just never please no matter what you do. You give them one thing and they want double of what they are given. Thats just simply wrong and ignorant. Cut the GMs some slack to see if we can actually keep one around and not always have him/her at wits end. For once just be happy with what you are given(not saying that all are un-pleased or they can never be satisfied) and cut the GMs some break. So maybe if you stopped complaining and having the GMs always handle petty issues maybe we can get new implements. oh wait...we will still have those that will complain about the implement. Why even bother tryin to get through ppls thick head to try and cut the GMs some slack and to stop having them workin 7 days a weak to try and please every gamer in the world of sosts.

i must say i always loved the work GM´s did for us and i do think complaining about not getting something is bad.
so what all ppl cant win at the lottery. a very few does and it wouldnt be fun if all got extreamly alot stuffs just like that. i mean then it wouldnt be a strugle to get something and well be bored.

so GM continue and ignore the whining parts ;P

I just dont understand, how these stupid people can be so rude to the people that made the game we are playing at this moment. Think, If they wernt around... wuld we have this game? Most likely not. Cut them some slack and dont freaking whine to them when you cant be bothered to do somthing instead you wait and want someone else to do it for you. get of your bottom and do it your self.

Happy christmas all.
