All depends what you wanna do. I personally am a hybrid. I am pure end currently, getting ready to start going 1str/1end though.
As to what's better -- support cleric is probably easiest but ONLY with a group. You won't do any solo'ing with one. Battle Cleric would probably end up healing a lot but is a lot better at solo'ing.
Honestly though - I don't think there are Battle and Support. No matter what you do, assuming you go full end, you are a hybrid. You can fight and heal as well as any cleric.
My opinion, though biased as I play one, go full endurance then add strength when you feel the need to.

What I did was I went End. For a while and then added Spr. Thats way I got good Crits. and Spirit. With thats build I can Solo and Play Suppport. It worked well for me.....you just have to find what works best for you.

there is a point (not there yet myself) but in the 30's where it becomes hard for clerics to solo because of our low attack. i strongly suggest a build of end:spr, spr up to 25, then switch to str.
myself i put the extra points from my upgrade quest (lv20 name change) into str. so at lv29 im +5str, +19end and 10spr. with rings and earrings (no buffs) 735hp 841sp (+7 end ring, +6str / +4end ring, +40sp +1%crit ear rings.) dmg is 186-205 dmg and 205def. when i hit 20end im gonna go a 1:2 spr spread till +25spr.

Are you using a mace? Because that damage seems kind of low...

Maces and hammers both have their pros and cons. Maces have higher attack speed, which some people may like more than hammers, and their accuracy is higher. Hammers on the other hand, are slower, but there is a higher damage output. It all depends on the person's preference. Anyways, I am both a hybrid of support and battle cleric. I can fight sufficently and be able to heal alot since I have alot of SP (Currently 1097 at level 35)

If you gona add other stat beside End ... try Spr ... Str just dont give you much for that one stat point per level...
With Spr at least you crit more and have more MaxSP so you can heal till kingdom come... and it does increase your Mdefence.
Str .. hmmm 1 Str = +1 damage... at level 100 ... + 100 damage ... wow... lol

I agree with Qwter. Nothing stops a 1:2 spirit/endurance cleric from wading into battle if they have to. They might take slightly longer to kill their opponents than a 2:1 End/Str "battle" build without taking critical hits into account, but they'll function better in the late game.
I will disagree however, about the end damage. 100 points in strength grants 120 damage, which might be nice if wielding a weapon fast enough to make it equal to 500 HP in utility.

but Kholai... at level 100...you probably be hitting for around 800+ damage per swing and crit for 800+ x 2 damage? That 120 damage will be so minute... and look at all that MaxHP, MaxSP, defense etc that you could have if you invest that point into End or Spr...
Not saying Str is not good but .. instead saying since we only get one point every level... spending that point where it make the most "optimum" benefit is probably wise ^.^
When I put on Spr ring and it did not Crit ... yeah that "% to Crit" *****...I sometimes change to +Str or +End ring ...hahaha

Oh certainly, I agree that strength is a bad choice compared to the other choices, but not just because the numbers are low.
I consider monster-HP by fractions, the advantages to strength only apply when they directly change the number of hits needed to kill an opponent. 120 damage might be a small fraction of overall damage but it is just that, a fraction.
If for example, you have +20 damage from strength in total, and deal 80 damage before strength, then you are adding 20% to all your attacks, which means enemies take four hits where they would have taken five. And when you deal 800 damage, 100 damage from strength means you need eight hits instead of nine, and you're right, that is pretty good... if viewed in a vacuum.
However, where 25 points of spirit would give a straight +5% improvement to your combat ability at level one or level one thousand, strength requires constant addition at the expense of everything else. And Spirit gives two other important stats at the same time, Strength gives bupkiss.
Even pure spirit for a cleric would be better than pure strength.

i agree, i have a lv30 cleric and its getting hard for me to successfully solo in the higher lv areas because i just dont do enough dmg (2:1 end:spr with the 5pts from upgrade quest in str for fun) to kill the monsters fast enough, and ive almost died a few times in Moonlight Tomb because of being mobbed by several spiders and bats (thank god for invincibility, its a life saver with increased duration!)
id go with a 2:1 end:spr build, and maby once you hit +25spr switch to str since it decreases crit per point to .1 insted of .2 below +25. or just go full end at that point, may not do much dmg but you would be an awesome tank to be sure...

im new to the game, but im trying End dex and spr. I figure if I can evade the hits, actually land my hits, and have the HP needed to life, i figure u got a good thing. I dont do much dmg in the front lines, but when i party my hits are constint, and I can tank decently. I dunno, seems to be working

I have a lvl 47 cleric on Epith. I have the 25 spr and rest end build. The crits are a nice addition and are very useful to a cleri in battle. Maxing bash power and cooldown helps also to compensate for the lack of str and damage. Besides, whats more annoying than a cleric who blocks all your hits? x3 I gotta say, a cleric that has 25 spr and rest end, plus good gears can stay alive for a looooooong time in battle. Plus it doesnt hurt to have a cleric to can clank a boss when the time is right ;)

they don't get their 3rd attack until after 90, I believe. battle clerics are those not afriad to use bash. and with every kind of players, there are those who are pro at it and will save you, and there are (the unfortuanate majority of BC's are like this) those idiots who can't play thier class and will ***** you over. good BC's know when to use bash and when to heal. bad BC's are amountable to Leroy Jenkins. excpet its not so halarias.
