View Full Version : Worst MMORPG of All Time-YOU DECIDE!

This is a poll to decide the worst MMORPG of all time. Feel free to post you rants about your experiences.
For me it was Everquest, yes it was the first, but it was designed with no help. No Map, No compass, No real direction. It was just here ya go...wander, die, wander back to where you died (if you can figure out where you were), get your stuff (or possibly die again), lose a level, get it back. Man it just sucked. I have friends who LOVED this game and quit jobs and girl friends for it. Stayed up days playing it (Well you had to in order to figure out how to get stuff done). The game was just a mess, I have very few fond memories of it. Most of my friends feel the lack of direction or help is what made the game great. They loved how deadly it was and corpse retrievals. They say it taught you how to play. It taught me how to un-install. I don't mind exploring and finding out new things, but at least allow me to map where I've been so I know how to get back.

I voted Fiesta since Im not taking this poll seriously and Fiesta is the only game out of those poll options Ive actually played. However the worst MMORPG game I've played isnt even on this list so I cant say much about the other games but Ive heard good and bad things from each of those games though so I just say meh to all of them.

D: You forgot Runescape. I mean, srsly. Just about everyone has played it at least ONCE because one of their inexperienced friends said "lol tri it its da best game evr an its free". Then you get to where you make your character and you're like "Oh God... What's wrong with the pixels? They're all retarded!"

Ahh yes, I remember Runescape. I was in a Diablo craze when my friend come to me in order to tell me about their godly bronze and iron sets. I, myself, am laughing so hard I can't breathe because I have the true best gear. I'm talking about Shaftstop, Holy Thunder, Vamp Gaze, Frostburn, Stormshield, String of Ears, SoJ's (I'll stop boring you non-Diablo fans) etc...
So anyways, I keep seeing Runescape around the place. More friends are playing it, but it was probably seeing it on miniclip that got me to try it out. Once I got to lvl 75 thats when I stopped, it ceased being fun. I still have 1 friend who plays the game "Xxx Neo Xxx7" or something. He claims he is #1 in a skill but I couldn't care less.
Other notable worst MMORPG's would have to include Habbo and Club Penguin.

First of all. I thought Everquest was probably the worst I've ever played.
Except, when people mentioned Runescape, I felt so dumb because I stayed on that game for a total amount of 30 minutes, getting through the tutorials and then I went to the desert and got killed. So, I lost this armor that some guy gave me, and when I died, I lost it all. So I was like, "f*** this!" and quit.
Alot of my friends think WoW was a great game, and I agree with them. My brother got me into it, and I found it very addictive, and I lost my entire last summer to it, and eventually had to let it go when my brother moved out.
I've played a MMORPG called Fly For Fun, and that was pretty fun for the first 40 levels, then it got really irritating because the experience was calculated in % and every kill afterwards, even if you're fighting something that was like 6 levels above you, you got like .12 % of experience for that one monster.
So, I quit that and now, I'm trying Fiesta. Hopefully its a game that won't get old.:)

Worst mmorpg to me was like RuneScape
Herrium
09-30-2007, 02:23 PM
I voted Matrix, because it is the worst MMORPG of all time. If your counting gameplay and fun, then it's between The Matrix Online and unescape. If you're counting players (making it a MMORPG, learn what it means first before you make statements). Then of course it would be The matrix Online, since Runescape 1/2 has more then 2.5 Million people F2P and P2P playing it then its classified as a MMORPG, The Matrix Online was an RPG, or MORPG. So, to all the people saying Runescape sucked and was lame, yes, but is another hugely successful MMORPG.

Hehe, everquest wasn't bad to me, it's content was very rich, it didn't sux, it was a tough game. Definetly not for MMORPG starters.
Guildwars isn't an MMORPG, remove it from the list !!
I played star war, became a jedi, got killed immediatly. Bye bye jedi power and bye bye SW.

For me it'd have to be RuneScape also. Same experience as others had. Your friend comes over telling you how great this new game it, you try it out and it's crap. I seriously felt like i lost a few braincells, in those 10 minutes i played. After that i got my friend to play RO, and since then, he's been hooked on it, and now agrees he wasted his time on Runescape.
Another one i didn't like much, was Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst. I don't remember much, but i do remember there wasn't much interaction with other people. My friend did some parties on it, but it was always with the same people. I play MMOs to meet new people.

star war what?
OP: what star war?The only star wars mmo is star wars galaxies, and Deedolith, what version did you play if it was tar wars galaxies? PRE-CU,CU or NGE?
OP:You should edit your poll(if possible) and add star wars galaxies and have a please state which version in post option
well, anyways, RUnescape would be my most hated one and I wouuld choose that option if it were on the poll but it isn't so I'll go with WOW tyvm

Actually I find people like yourself retarded, Runescape might be lacking in the graphics department but do idiots like yourself ever wonder why?
The reason is because Runescape is run off of a Java engine, it is amazing that Jagex (the owners of Runescape) managed to released a game such as runescape on such a basic engine.
Runescape isn't like these games they run off of a different engine completely giving these games the ability to produce better graphics with how do I put it lacking gameplay quality. If you consider Runescape running from a Java engine you should know that Runescape should be considered as an high quality game.
Again it might have lacking graphics compared to this but with the system it runs on it can be considered to have high graphics, as I've just said.
Anyway, those who do say runescape is crap because of it's graphics cannot call themselves a gamer of any calibur, a real gamer brushes graphics aside for playability, and runescape has pleanty of that.
In all honesty, runescape is better than this game.
This game is very limited in what you can do, it is more or less all combat orientated, just like the majority of games out there. Pretty sad really considering this game is a simple clone with nothing new. Mmorpg developers\creators need to wake up realize that graphics are not everything it's the content of the games is what matters.
Another note, if runescape is crappy, why does it have 10+ million players?

Sorry, none of these even compare to the misery that is Endless Online.
* No weapon did more or less damage than any other, nor did armour/clothing have any effect. The one different weapon, the bow (identical damage, but could shoot in straight lines), was dropped by exactly one monster in the game that spawned once in a blue moon in a single location. Where no fewer than thirty people camped waiting to attack it at all times.
* No classes, and exactly two spells in the entire game that did identical damage to each other anyway.
* Everything required a massive number of drops to make. The best (read, hardest to make) sword required so much stuff that was so freakishly rare to drop that every single map where ingredients could be found was hyper populated and incredibly laggy.
* Because the game had no way of preventing kill stealing, 90% of the population would wait until a micro-second before somebody killed a monster by themselves before zapping it with one of the game's two spells, getting all the Experience, money, and drops. This was impossible to avoid because everyone could see the lifebars of every monster, and just wait for it to turn red. There was no PvP either, so there was no way to stop this.
As for Runescape, I played that game for about an hour before uninstalling in disgust. Maybe the game is "deep" and all that jazz, but honestly all I remember was being told to mine for some metal that I would then use to forge my own weapon, then going to fish in a pond for ten to twenty minutes. Maybe if I was trying to develop repetetive stress disorder I'd try again, but it frankly bored me out of my skull.
Kudos on playing the "you're not a real gamer" card though Atelier, real mature of you.

I'm sorry but about everything you've said is outdated.(By about a year or so.) Damage is now affected by stats, weapons also attribute too damage now. They put classes in now, but you can change them. The drops too make items are still pretty much the same. PvP was put in a few months ago. And the "mili-second" pick up has also been fixed.
You may as well look up a game after a year in a half or so before you call it the worst. Especially since the game is still in Beta version.(Even though I have not been on in two months @_@)
Anyway, the worst game i've played in my opinion is probably Tales of Pirates. It just did'nt appeal too me like it did too other people. I mean the sea fairing was good for a time but I just could not get into it. There were'nt too many builds you could do for some classes (Crusaders and their slasher build is one.). But the thing I hated most about it was....that the same song was used for every field.
But I may come back too it when I hear things improve a bit.

I'm a bit curious to why people voted Guild Wars as the worst MMO ever. Compared to the other games Guild Wars falls nowhere near them; I don't care if it's you're style or not -- from a non-biased point of view -- anyone could say it was an amazing game.
I actually think of it as more CRPG'ish, but still, it is a load better than many MMOs out there. It set the bar in several areas and implemented many features. It has multiple amazing story lines and tons of side quests with really unique lore.
The visuals are wonderful to boot.
I just don't see how anyone could call it the worst MMO ever created. Maybe not the best, but whatever...
I think WoW is the worst because it is just a copy of every MMO in the world now. Only thing is it has an excellent team behind it with wonderful marketing and a huge fan base plus it is very easy game play. Even if it is the most played or whatever, it is just the cookie-cutter MMO in my opinion.
And you pay for it. Certainly doesn't rank up anywhere on my list.

And that's the maturity I would expect from a kid like yourself.
Frankly your attitude is the kind what is hardly welcome in the online community, you and those like you think you are correct all the time, without fully thinking about what it is you could be wrong about.
I'll say this and keep saying it until somebody is able to do it. Create your own mmorpg, make it successful, and when that day comes you might have earnt the bragging rights to attack other games.
Until that day comes however, and I'm pretty sure it is a long time away from here (like never) keep your stupid comments to yourself. Why? Because you know nothing about how a game is run and maintained.
And lastly, why does playing runescape make you a nerd? It is no different from playing anyother mmorpg, unless again you are refering to the graphics runescape has.
If I make enemies to get my point across I don't care, if somebody is going to call me a nerd or stupid or anything just because I enjoy playing a certain game so be it. I will defend myself and whatever I like to if I seem serious that is my personality I will do what it takes to get my point across, if my point has to go through what people think then so be it.
A game shouldn't be judged by what graphics it has, how many players it has, how much it cost's per month (exception of wow that just sucks no matter what). It is about what games can offer, what gameplay is like, what content the games hold. Some might enjoy this game for the fun atmosphere, and from what I have seen the lack of security that is on this game. (Refer to the in game thirdparty adverts for buying gold).
I won't go around telling people they are nerds, dumb, stupid for playing games they like, and in turn they shouldn't go around calling others nerds, dumb and stupid for playing what they like.
Must also add this though your comment about players being addicted, that rings true for all games, you will have people addicted to any game as long as it is good that is. Do you know why people get addicted? Because they enjoy what they are doing.
And for your other comment about it being a gay game, again that is what you think and I have to say you are wrong, If runescape had updated graphics that compared to this game I would like to guarantee that you would not say that again.
Last note: Are you one of those who voted in the polls: Graphics are the best thing for a game?
Well it wasn't exactly said like that but that is what that answer meant anyway

I've only played three so not much of a list.
Scions of Fate mainly because of their inability to control the rampant number of bots/goldsellers (along with inflation that came with it), the story railroading players to choose one side or another, and lackluster quests.

Although I loathe the game too, I don't see how Runescape is the worst MMO to date. It has a crap load of more to do than any of the MMOs we play. Sure, someone may say it is training a bunch of skills to 99 but that's more than what we do in most MMOs which are just killing X monster XX times until leveling up, then doing it until level cap.
Its graphics may not be on par with the latest and greatest but since when has that stopped a game from being great? Look at Mario Brothers for christs sake, it is legendary in its own right and graphics are nothing like todays games.
Graphics are wonderful icing on the cake but never necessary.
Although I could argue myself on that, in todays game-world, developers are trying more and more to grab the player. Graphics can set the mood wonderfully. They can capture a players emotions and twist them up, especially in a thrilling storyline.
MMO's haven't reached that stage yet, aside from the select group of role-players. Graphics, in my opinion, are much more useful than what they are given by certain players who follow the strict 'graphics aren't everything' rule.
That's just another way to look at it.
Back to my Runescape debate, the game is not a bad game. At all. However, it does, hands down, have the WORST community I have ever seen. EVER. There are so many lamers, griefers, hackers, idiots, braggers, scammers, and E-bayers on the game it isn't even funny.
The game itself, minus the community, isn't that bad though. I'm taking this poll as more of a 'how it was developed and what it is' than 'how the players treat it'.
If we were going by community though, Fiesta takes the cake for worst. Seeing as a good percentage of it is childish lamers, grifers, spammers, and bots.
well to be honest not all the games up ther ar real mmorpg
Every game up there is an MMORPG.

The worst is final fantasy, too much to pay and battling systems crap
as for WoW to many people criticize it, it is quite a descent game, the bad side is that it cost too much
The best has got to be Guild Wars and ArchLord, a one time fee & they both have great gameplay

I would of posted Runescape Because it sucks real bad. But instead I chose Guild Wars, the max level is 20 (I forget), it's so much about group effort I'm not saying that's bad it's just that you want to be able to solo through and the graphics are to sharp.

Hum, max level of 20 was a godsend. It let you get into end-game a lot quicker... and solo'ng is very easy in that game. Very easy. In fact, you can solo the entire game aside from a select few missions if you really want too. And after all, it is an MMORPG. I still vote it as a CRPG...
It also didn't separate players from each other because after a while everyone was together.
Personal preference I suppose though. And it was a great feature - I'm actually pissed off that they are removing the level cap for Guild Wars 2. Once again it will turn into another grinder... although if the team holds up to traditional standards, I can expect to see some wonderful aspects of game play.
You are saying it is bad because you are now voting it as the WORST MMO ever created on that list.
Graphics are personally preference, though from a developers stance they took a beautiful direction with art and they have a very talented team on that. I don't even play Guild Wars anymore but I have to argue against the Worst MMO to date... obviously you never played half the games up there.
I know I can't change your mind, but I still believe from that list alone, Guild Wars is hardly the WORST MMO ever created.

Hail All,
I would have to vote everquest, simply because i became very disillusioned and actually started to resent the game at the end.I was a beta tester many many years ago when eq started , back in the days of flying wizards and giant gnomes.I was there when the game opened offically and took part i the gnome world battle, but when the game started i loved it, lots of friends and a awesome guild, i athree level 50"s which at the time was the level limit.Played it for untold hours, as tmes passed,,instead of revamping gameplay and adding good content, Sony went the way of adding expanson packs it seemed every 3 months, so gameplay declined it all got very repetive and pointless to grind out level after level, oh an forever earning plats
Third party web sites started selling plats and weapons, even leveling services, so you migh run into hi level characters that totaly suck simply because they had no idea how to use there character or weapons, total noobs getting the rest of us killed all the time., So i left the game, my guild and deleted my characters, which i could of sold, i might add for about 500 a piece at the time..So yeah everquest is the worst for letting a great idea go wild all for the mighty dollar..

Worst MMORPG I played?
Runescape.
But there's another one that just grieves me.
FFXI.
Seriously. Here's why.
The graphics were amazing sure. The Final Fantasy lineage was in it. Pretty much it looks like a pure winner , right?
But it's not.
To do something , for example , to kill a monster you have to place yourself in a line. " User " Poophead " is killing a monster , please wait. " Wait?! And what about the mines? Shhhsh. " This mine can only support 20 people in it, please restrain from entering. " The bloody mines are huge. Twenty people alone couldn't fill it up. Now. What about buying potions and items? Well good luck, because if you buy all the potions of the shop , there's no more till tomorrow. FFXI 'sucks' , it's not bad , it's below average. It's better then RS , but it's not better then Fiesta ( Gotta kiss up right? ;D ) I also hated the Level Down feature. You lose all your spells and stuff because you died. If you die you lose a level , pretty much it's a thing that makes you cling on to your seat , everytime you try and kill a mob from the same level. That game is for japanese people , and japanese alone. ( Lulz a azn joke. )
After this extensive review , I departure. Please dun' kill me D;
P.S. : After wasting 3 months of my life and maxing out my Ninja to level 70 , I simply had a epiphany and quit and shared my knowledge with other people. Most agreed , few flamed my opinion. So , don't give me the " Lol , you didn't pass level 10. " punchline , because I'm sixty levels ahead of that. ( Arrogance~~ )...

I voted for Fiesta because...as a new game it's just same ol', same ol'. Shame on you Outspark! These games are all the same. Bash monster...get loot...repeat! There's a storyline? Where! Sorry can't look for the story now...busy k'sing! LOL!
Who cares about maintenance etc., ppl just wanna play...not have to worry about bugs and graphics not compatible etc. And where is the multi-player interaction in gang-bashing monsters? That's fun!!!! There is more fun on these boards than in any of these games. RFLOL!

Worst MMORPG I played?
Runescape.
But there's another one that just grieves me.
FFXI.
Seriously. Here's why.
The graphics were amazing sure. The Final Fantasy lineage was in it. Pretty much it looks like a pure winner , right?
But it's not.
To do something , for example , to kill a monster you have to place yourself in a line. " User " Poophead " is killing a monster , please wait. " Wait?! And what about the mines? Shhhsh. " This mine can only support 20 people in it, please restrain from entering. " The bloody mines are huge. Twenty people alone couldn't fill it up. Now. What about buying potions and items? I don't know what on earth you are talking about with waiting in line and cannot enter the mines. o_O;;
As for the level down thing... what's so bad about it? At least you don't lose your items.
And you can't solo in FFXI. It's a party game.

Um... what the hell? Who cares about bugs?
Are you joking or being sarcastic?
If and when they do fix bugs I am more than relieved... getting bugs fixed is very high on my list for perfecting the game and I will give up my play time to let them fix what is broken...
Multi-player interaction? This has to be a joke because it is around every corner. If I talk to my guild - that is more than one player interaction. If I heal a group - that is more than one player interaction. If a fighter taunts to keep aggro from his group mates - that is multi-player interaction.
Do you know what you are talking about?

I agree although for experience purposes actually, you can... remember Beastmaster? (You could make a case that even Dragoon and Puppetmaster could be semi-decent... though mainly from being unpopular.) I have no clue what he's talking about either unless it's about how crowded areas get and there's no 'camp' in an area you want.
FFXI is not a cakewalk... looking for a party, competing for areas to level, trying to scrounge enough money to get good equipment, doing series of missions to just get access to places and start the whole process over again. If you want to be considered a good player, you have to put in the time... both improving your job/equipment/ability and NETWORKING (making reliable contacts). Imo that's why people don't like it... at some point FFXI becomes more like 'work' than enjoyment and not worth the time. If you're in or ever join a HNMLS, then kiss your freedom goodbye!
If you crack easily under pressure or obviously have a lack in skill, then it'll be noticed and pointed out. Reputation plays a big role there and rumors spread like wildfire across the server. However, whenever you accomplished anything it always was a major feeling of achievement.
People complain about the $15/month... as if the majority of people don't burn more than that in a month. It does suck sometime that there are some JPonly or other groups (mainly ethnic groups from EU) that are segregated, but it's not impossible to work with or find others of different nationalities at least willing to talk with you.

Yea! I am always joking! Fun is the name of the Game after all! If it's not fun...then I don't play! Monster-bashing is fun. That's what these mmorpg's are all about. Standing around CHATTING in these games isn't my idea of fun! I am already in CHAT games where you do stand around chatting and that is their purpose...where monster-bashing isn't aloud 'cos we are too busy standing around chatting.

yeah, i probly think either club penguin or runescape wud be the worst. even tho they arent even on there. but the thing i dont git is (dont be a jerk and classify me as a runescape lover cuz im definitly not) that so many ppl say runescape is a bad game even tho like 200,000 ppl play it and it has kind of good stuff to do in it. i actually think this feista game is a little worse than runescape cuz runescape has a hell of a lot more features and things to do in it. but i passed the middle/elementary school runescape phase and not im going big..im playing WORLD OF WARCRAFT, and maybe a little festa. and im guessing this game is pretty new so i can git my level up so i can be like a legend or something like that...and lastly what i dont git is WHY DID SO MANY PPL RATE WORLD OF WARCRAFT A BAD GAME CUZ ITS HELLA BETTER THAN ****ING FEISTA OR ANY OTHER GAME COMBINED. well i gtg c ya. hope this post aint going to get anyone upset. just speaking my mind:D

It isn't the best out there, it just has the most addicted fan-base. And that doesn't make it the best out there...
And besides, it is just another cookie-cutter MMO - with a fancy company backing it (yay Blizzard, SC2 FTW) - and that's just that.
Maybe you think it is the best - but I don't believe so... just perception.

Yes, I thought of saying "You can't solo, unless you have BST, maybe SMN, and some other jobs." but..usually people don't get that far in the game before they quit because they have to party.
Yes, I have 3 jobs lvl 75. BLMWHMRDM. I despised having to schedule my FREEtime around FFXI time. Plus, when you reach endgame, you realize everyone knows everyone else and you are all competing against each other. It's dramadramadrama. First off... Beta555, this is a thread for opinions on the worst MMORPG, not rant on what people think. Plus please try "looking" at the keyboard cause it looks like touch typing isnt for you.
Second, I think the worst MMO is possible "Well of souls". I played it for a while and it was quite fun while it lasted, It allowed people to create variations of the game and host it on seperate servers (Such as one server being entirly pvp). The only problem I had with it is that it consistantly ran off images that could be simply made in paint, as well as the fact that many players had little to no repect for one another. It also was too easy to lvl up and make money, and also had a poor party system, which to me takes the enjoyment out of any MMO.

10-05-2007, 02:36 PM
yeah.... this poll is REALLY missing Flyff.
It was a great MMORPG when I started in June (or thereabouts). Then they introduced deleveling, and increased exp loss from dying. So it kinda sucks now. And for a free-to-play game being hideously dependant on a cash shop to actually ENJOY the game? Flyff wins hands down for the worst MMORPG at the moment.

How can you compare F2P games to P2P games? And imo, Fiesta is the worst, way too generic, NO customization, and the grind is horrible.
Katzy
10-05-2007, 07:16 PM
Well, I think Rappelz must tie with Flyff since they are both made by the same game company. Now I understand the need for a cash shop to finance a game, many ppl do buy from them, but to clearly rig the game to pretty much require a purchase from the cash shop to do much more than play to lvl 20, then you are looking at Rappelz. I was a loyal follower, I played endlessly, I put in a bunch of money to buy stuff, needed stuff, not the fluff to make my character have a red mount instead of a brown mount. But I still have money sitting there and won't spend it til they put stuff on sale that I need. I have not played for months as that game was deliberately fixed to require cash shop items to enhance even basic armor. Even armor purchased in the cash shop can and does easily break on the first enhancement. They put out a "sale" package for better enhancing chance stones and priced it 'on sale' at $100. Silly, silly ppl. When I saw my friends list empty day after day, I knew there was a problem. That problem is greed. I only hope that doesn't happen here.

I'm in the same situation with aarenh since I only played Runescape for about 30 sec...walked into the house, talked with npc, me:goodbye...
The worst I would have to say is Mythwar online? (I think that's wat it's called) When I started it I didn't think it would be so bad. Even though the graphics were a bit below average I thought it could entertain me for a week...but then I didn't see any monsters until It went into Final Fantasy/Pokemon mode. The battle music starts and it goes into turn-based game mode! yay! but yeah...not too much of a fan of a turn-based game
I don't know why you people find maplestory to be the worst mmo out there...I mean yeah it's 2D but it's good for noob mmo players to get used to everything and it has the basics of any 3D mmo (multiple maps, tutorial, basic classes, 2nd job lvls, quests, parties, etc.) I mean it's decent and one of the first mmo's I played.
One of the best mmo's I've played would have to be 2moons some ppl might not agree but I'm just talking about gameplay...(I know EVERYONE including NPC's were jack@$$es) but it had an extra class(summoner) though it was chosen by 50% of the community, it had a pk system and the pvp system didn't unecessarily teleport you to a different place. But what really killed it for me was the small map, how I was stuck in one place grinding, and how lvl 100 ppl would gate guard and pk me as soon as i teleported...But as soon as cabal comes out in U.S I'm gone from any mmo I'm playing at the moment. (p.s. If a mmo can't keep me busy for 1 week it can't be too good...but it's just one man's opinion)

I think most of the people picked WoW just for the sake of going against one of the top MMOs out there. Or they just sucked at the game and thus disliked it. They probably like simple games where they just have to do 1 or 2 main spells and just click and watch ehem.. like some games. =P Of course im just poking fun, else why would I be playing this game when I have an active WoW account. I like variation.
But another main complaint I see against WoW is the $15 a month. Lets put this into perspective. Your pretty much paying 50 cents a day for like 30 moderators to help people in need, a server with little or no noticable lag (with thousands of people on in each server), and a huge developement team creating new game content almost every month. You even get huge updates including new complex dungeons, quests, items.
I will just say... there are 2 big drawbacks to the game. One is the weekly maintenance which is necesary to keep the servers in tip top shape but still taking away hours of gameplay. The second is the game is addictive as hell and eats away at your life.
out of all the games though, I would say FF is the worst. Who likes a game that takes over an hour to get from town to town? lol

And anyone who voted Guild Wars as worst, get ready for Guild Wars2. The click navigation? GONE? 100% instanced world? SEE YA! Graphics you ask? REDONE!! You want new races? YOU GOT IT!!! They're also making the world 100% interactive, that's right!! Spells are no longer only for battle: fire a fireball at a barrel, it goes boom. Miss, and something else goes boom. Plus you see it instead of having to read it in that little window that people are always complaining about being there, or whatever... the best part (drum roll please...) GUILD WARS2 IS 100%, ABSOLUTLY FREE!!!! No more campaigns, the production team says they'll just stay active with an event here, a touch-up there, you know.
I agrey runescap is a good game yes it may lack grafhcs but the playability is grat u was a member in it lev 83 lots of freinds my cusiens played but i quit becaus i got hacked to blasted much so im trying out new game wont kill me of i do i also play halo combat evalved good game srry for spelling mistackes

In runescape its not so combat orientated, meaning you will always have something to do.
There are alot of mini-games and over 70 quests to do.
Seriously, most of you RS haters dont even know what it is,
and a true gamer would place graphics aside and would play a game for the game-play.

And im considering to vote for Fiesta now,
Its too un-original, get up levels, kill monsters and what not, is there anything else to do? PvP, they have that in every game!
Come on, come up with some new ideas!

Runescape has to be the worst graphics, though I still play it sometimes. It was fun all up until lvl 10 then it was fair up until all the quests, now it is just plain out boring. I can't buy it, but a friend bought for my sister who loves it and says is is much funner when you have membership for which I can't afford at the moment.
Right at the moment Fiesta is okay graphic wise, but gameplay not so much. It seems like same old same old. (I have played it, but I'm gonna play it more and my opinion will change)
But the worst I say is MaidMarion. That is a horrible MMORPG, for one all you do is get quests and complete them? No fun in that at all. Choose a color and kill others who have a different color. Boring. I played for about 5 min :P

Runescape is fun for the first month - then you get bored. A bit more fun when you pay 5 bucks a month for it but then you get bored again. Why? Once you realize you're leveling 22 categories or something 99 times, you will get bored, least in my opinion.
Fiesta is fun coz KQs are open to everyone which gives everyone something to do than exp grind all day, the game is free, and not too hard to learn.
Also i tried that sherwood mmorpg which i suppose is similar to the maid marrian thing. For 30 minutes i was lvl 1 and i killed all these lvl 10s or higher becasue i actually block.
I would say the worst mmorpg is sherwood basically. :P

I started off on Runescape I became a member when I hit lv 52 and had all the free quests done it just got boring really boring when i hit lv 94 and kept getting PKed for no reason when i was trying to just train on greater demons and dragons. Then the quests got boring since I was running everywhere, it just kinda got old. It was my first MMORPG. then after taht got boring i moved onto Ragnarok. Which SoS on outspark looks exactly like with differnt sprites, different monsters of course but everything else is the same. The battle style, the stances even the environment graphics are teh same. Then I tried Corum online for a while. It was boring..all you did was kill kill kill...and the prizes wernt all that great either. Everyone was rude and just alot of lag. I tried Rappelz before that..it was horrible..good graphics too much grind. Then I decided to try Fiesta that i kept seeing around. I's pretty cool. It does keep me busy in the game and doesnt make it boring. and im nto even lv 12 yet. I really hope this game stays interesting for me.

So have I, everyone is plain rude on Paltroth. My priest in Paltroth is lvl 50 Awl Maul +5 and all the good equiptment that can ever keep you alive is in the millions. Quests don't provide enough money, they give weapons and armor sets but it won't last. Remedy is hard to cast coz you have to click on top of the player which is difficult, so healing wave was better. There is no lvl requirement for equiptments, but you have to be able to hold them or run like a turtle.
Most of the people i think in Paltroth are adults and use cash shop. They make fun of the newbs because they just buy their gold while the newbs think it's possible for them to make 1 million easy like them. I was a fortunate one to come across rare items when exp grinding. It's not the worse rpg but it's hard to make money.

It was just way too complicated to play. I mean the gameplay was easy yes, but as you mentioned the healing sucked. I was on a different sever. dont remember. I didnt even make it to 20. I was on one of hte threads and they where going to make guardians in the cashshop. i was excited about that till i learned they would be really weak. and then learnt more aobut the guardian system. Its hard as heck to even get one expecially with high lv guilds guarding the caves getting the items. And the fact that you coudlnt change gender of either of the classes. I wanted an Arcane so badly but it was a chick and id idnt want to get hit on..meh that game wasnt the best. sorry for the rant.
Oh on here I am on the Teva Server.

Making a guardian by hatching it is such a low low percent. Enhancing a an item is super low too. They just say 1 second later weapon success or weapon loss, only between the two. Guardians seem weak at first but they're easy to level to they're stronger than you are. Since right clicking enables your skill, you have to turn the camera with arrow keys. Then the skill tree is like per point you put in it your mastery goes higher enabling you to advanced skills. I don't like the game though coz of the fact of how hard it is to make money and how rude the pros are because they expect newbs to know the name of their equiptments.

Other games steal from WoW's style!?
First off, most of these games come from BEFORE WoW was released. Then a lot of the free ones originated in Korea and follow the anime-stylistic, bad story, cookie-cutter which is NOTHING like WoW.
And to be fair, every MMO steals from others.
WoW did NOT define the genre of online MMOs at all and you are, more or less, implying that totally as if it is fact which it is not.
World of Warcraft was a genious creation seeing as it captured a lot of people, but some of these MMOs have been out longer than WoW and some of them are nothing like it.

I resent that. Gaia Online was the worst for me.
Please explain.
I've never thought Gaia Online to be a MMORPG (though I could see the reasoning), it's just so... hybrid and covers everything to bring in as many as possible (games, art gallery, forums, a general story plot, movie theater??etc.).
Because it's so multipurpose, I think of it more like an online anime theme park. When the battle system /finally/ comes out, it'll be a bit closer to the stereotypical MMORPG.

Vanguard Saga of Heros is by far the worst game ever made. I played it for 15 min and called Sony Online Entertainment and demanded my money back.
so far what happen to the game is.....
SoE has fired the dev team.
The guy in charge of the Sigil was reduced to a puppet head and is never ever to work on any other game ever.
Programmers for the game have come out to say "publicly" the game was release only 30% complete and it was SoE that pushed for the release.
After 1 month of the game live, 2 servers were shut down because the game sucked soo bad that people stopped playing.
SoE try to give extra free months of the game to people but no one wanted it.
After 2 months the Forums was shut down because all people did was complain about how horrid the game was.
SoE will not ban Gold Sellers and Botters because they need the ROI to be high. (RoI = Return on Investment)
After 5 months the only population is people that have Station pass and Gold sellers.
Month 6 only 3 servers out of 8 left online & a group of people have mounted a class action lawsuit against Sony Online Entertainment for Advertisement Fraud basicly Over hyping a unfinished product and lying about what the game does. Even on the box it says like you can do something... you can't its a total lie. Everyone that bought that game felt ripped off and wants the money back.
now who has the worst mmo ever made ?????

I played Runescape, got to "Combat level" 30 or something, It was no fun.
1:Ugly.
2:No one knew how to spell.
3:Too bloody slow paced.
4:Even more repetitive than final fantasy 1.
5:hardly any choice in gear
6:No team play, What I play mmorpg's for is teaming up with friends.
7:Ugly as hell, Oh wait did I say that before?
8:90% of the people talks and plays like an idiot which is only surpassed by
the amount of people that can only say the word "noob" or rather "nub"
9:No matter what you mine or craft it all comes down to clicking a rock tree
or other stuff and waiting 15 minutes for your character to finish.
10:The animations look plain stupid, or does that fit under "Ugly"?
So well. I played it, found it no fun, And I want the (Few) hours I played it back.
In my opinion RuneCrap is not good enough to deserve the name "Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game"
That's why it's not in the list.

2. Hero online( horrible graphics)
3. Space Cowboys online (really fun but no team strategey)

6. Rappelz (GRINDING)
7. Flyffy (GAY)
8. Anarchy (fine)
9. Silk Road online

i voted WoW.
not because it's a bad game or anything, on the contrary, the polar opposite. that game is so good and so addicting that it easily saps the life out of any dedicated gamer. i know first-hand that game can ruin your life pretty much. i know at least three people who were intelligent and good people overall that didn't make it into college just because of WoW. luckily i quit pretty early on (relatively speaking).
that game is so good, it's the worst

i'd say RuneScape very bad even if it got me addicted to lvl 88...even if graphincs are bull...even if it is the easiest scammable game in the world(they didn't even think about having Account name---->password and a character name, i guess that would make too much sense) only thing good about the game is the diversity of the skills.
I already played a game called MapleStory...i quit after 2 mins so i guess this one would be the wrost game IMO.
I also played a game called Goonzu...quit after lvl 20 or something, its cool but graphics are bad and class are unbalanced(IMO) and it is also very long to lvl.
I also played a game called ehh...damn what was it already...Oh yes...Knight Online...very fun in the beggining..but as you get better, you see that it is FULL of hackers using a program called KoxP(it just let your character fight and obtain loots automaticaly) so that's why i stopped playing.
Rappelz..downloaded it but could never get in..kept saying an error message 1386 or somthing..rofl.
Oh and SilkRoad...The experience reward from the quests are too small, makes it very hard to lvl.
I would have more but im bored lol

Worst game->Lineage2.
1) you die--> drop equipment, which you've farmed for a week to a month to get.
2) high lvl player just slap you for fun
3) too many pks in newbie zone. One pk is enough to wipe out 30 newbies. If you get killed by pk, you lose exp alot.
4) too many scammers who trick you to drop your precious equipment.
5)too many fighting between parties..
Best game-> UltimaOnline
One of oldest and most famous online game. so classic.
GMs do care about players[when it was owned by orgin. not EA].
so many crafting skills and items. able to build own house[small/ townhouse/ tower/ castle/ custom made], Fun of pvp.
everything is good, except its very old, 2D graphic, not many char and again its old

I played Runescape. I got to lvl86. Damn it sucked so bad. most boring gsme ever =/

10-19-2007, 06:52 PM
Bah. I loved Runescape. To me, an MMO is great for as long as you can find a group of friends on it among other things. Somehow, I managed to find some intelligence in that cesspool and was completely addicted to it for a year before I became tired of the lack of things to do for f2p players.
I won't get into the graphics and why they're amazing for what they're made on because I'd be reiterating what others have said (I'm happy that I'm not the only one who realizes that it's a JAVA game.)
Also, for as long as it's been out, I still find that its in-game currency hasn't gone through inflation (I was with it since Classic). It's still as hard as ever to make any money without doing some work of your own. (ie: Mining, fishing, smelting, etc)
But what I wanted to get into was MapleStory. I have no idea why people hate it. I wasn't with the game in its beta stages, so I ended up joining the game 3 months after. MapleStory was completely community driven, I found. I had a few (a million) accounts that were completely separate from the rest. No one knew that I was the one behind the screen for all of them. But on all of my accounts, I would always have a different group of friends with which I spent all of my time. My main, for instance, has been stuck at level 50 (and still is) for about two years now just because I could not find a single moment in which I wasn't talking to a group of friends.
That buddy chat thing was ingenious.
MapleStory, as I'm sure every knows, is a 2D platformer (I'm not sure if that's redundant, though.) and excells at being one. I'm not sure what other games are in 2D except those old SNES games, and I'm not a seasoned gamer in any sense of the term, but I find that MS is incredibly daring in making itself such a type of game when most other MMOs in this day and age are in 3D.
It had a bunch of other factors that are not uncommon in other MMOs (quests, grinding, party quests, many maps and lands, an abundance of outfits, cash shop). Hell, why wouldn't it? So what I don't understand is why people wouldn't like it. Unless it's changed from the last time I've been immersed in it (about a year ago [things can change, I guess]), I wouldn't see how it would have deteriorated to the point of it being the worst MMO ever.
Also, for those who have said they've only played suchandsuchagame for about two minutes before uninstalling and saying that it's crap, that's much the same as never playing it and saying it's crap based on some negative review. You can't fully experience any game within two minutes, and though I'm sure that it was probably an hour or something and those two minutes were an exaggeration, you still can't judge a game in its entirety within that timeframe. In my opinion, some people need to learn to be better critiques.
But, honestly, RS and MS are still free games, it's not as if you can expect something awesome and ground-breaking like Ocarina of Time for N64 from them. (Terrible example. It's not even online. Or multiplayer for that matter)
And... yeah. Excuse any grammatical errors. =]

I would have to say MapleStory is worst, followed by RuneScape. The only thing good about RuneScape is that it's time-consuming. Very good for when you're in-between MMOs. I still have a lv. 46 character for when I'm away from a computer that has a good MMO's client/launcher/etc. on it.
I do like the MMORPGs by Acclaim though. 9Dragons is pretty fun and has a pretty good plot, and 2Moons is OK, considering it just got out of closed beta (think 4 months ago).
EVEOnline would be great if not for the monthly fee. I mean, players can make their own quests there! And you don't have to be logged in to learn skills!:eek: (sounds crazy, I know, but it's hard to explain without copying that entire section of their manual)

World of Warcraft is the best MMO, it will be until a drastically amazing game comes out. Everything is explained to you, there's a huge variety of classes/races, since you have to pay 15$ a month it keeps alot of younger people out which makes the communities more mature. (15 a month is extremely easy to scrounge up for anyone with a minimum wage paying j-o-b) PVP? A-mazing, made so any good player can kill any other person. Not to mention raiding, the game is just spectacular hands down thumbs up. Hell, even if you don't like the raiding and pvp at max level you can explore areas that you shouldn't be able to, Exploiting is just one of the 1000's of things that makes this game over the top.
Sadly after playing this game from releasing date and longing for a game that is like .hack for foreverrrrrrrrr( talking about myself ) * I beat all the .hack games, just loved 'em.. and finding this.. I took a hiedus.
Don't agree with me? Don't care, you most likely haven't spent nearly as much time playing this game to think your judgement of it is better than mine.
Still don't agree? Tell that to the 8 million people playing, cheahhh, that's right.. biggest gaming community out there.

To me, the worst MMO up there was Final Fantasy XI. I'm trying my best to be unbiased here, and I was thinking about how many people have been playing the games listed. I've only listed (and said anything about) MMO's that I've played at least 10 hours on, so as to get a feeling for it.
Everquest: Sure it was hard to learn and took dedication to get anywhere, but it had a massive fan base and thus, is a great game. Once you can get passed the learning curve, you can enjoy the game.
World of Warcraft: Quite possibly the best MMO up there, mostly because of the quick and easy to play interface. It only takes three minutes to realize the game is easy to play, which is why there are millions of players.
Guild Wars: Like WoW, this game is easy to pick up and get playing. And thanks to the lack of monthly fee, this game is more accessible to casual gamers and hardcore gamers alike. Just don't read the general chat in major cities.
Final Fantasy: Pretty much a copy of WoW set in the Final Fantasy world. At its peak, there was somewhere around half a million players, which is minuscule considering the couple million in WoW and GW.
Ultima Online: Pretty much the founder of MMO's. It still has a fair fan base playing after close to a decade. That has got to say something about how good it is right there.
People who are saying that World of Warcraft is the worst MMO really don't know much about the MMO market. Its not about pleasing one person, its about making sure you can get millions of people to come back, month after month. It may have a monthly fee, but considering the huge world and the hundreds of hours of gameplay, its a damn fine MMO.

A: That's not a sig. It's a wallpaper. Resize it or get rid of it.
B: I can't believe you just called the WoW community mature... I honestly don't even know where to start on that... For once i'm speechless....
C: The subscription numbers mean nothing. If history has taught us anything it's that humans are generally stupid and the majority is always wrong. Remember when everyone thought the earth was flat and you could fall off if you sailed too far? I rest my case. I'm not saying fiesta is better, just that WoW is far from being the best game.
To me, the worst MMO up there was Final Fantasy XI. I'm trying my best to be unbiased here, and I was thinking about how many people have been playing the games listed. I've only listed (and said anything about) MMO's that I've played at least 10 hours on, so as to get a feeling for it.
10 Hours is nothing in an MMO. Many games change drastically at higher levels in both balance and gameplay. After 10 hours you've pretty much only experienced the newbie content, if that.
Everquest: Sure it was hard to learn and took dedication to get anywhere, but it had a massive fan base and thus, is a great game. Once you can get passed the learning curve, you can enjoy the game.
Not really. In the grand scheme of things it's easy. There are games which pretty much require having 5 spreadsheets open to play decently. *Cough* Eve Online *Cough*
World of Warcraft: Quite possibly the best MMO up there, mostly because of the quick and easy to play interface. It only takes three minutes to realize the game is easy to play, which is why there are millions of players.
WoW Is MMORPG's on training wheels. The main reason for it's popularity is that it brings in a lot of non-MMORPG gamers and nongamers in general. Anyone who plays a lot of MMORPG's will be bored with it in minutes. It's overly simplistic and dumbed down. Popularity does not make a game good. Saturn is much more popular than ferrari. Way more people have a saturn. Does that mean a saturn is a better car than a ferrari? Of course not.
Why do you people think everything is a copy of WoW?! The Final fantasy MMORPG was released 2 years before WoW. The first final fantasy game was released 7 years before the first warcraft game. Get your facts straight or STFU.
Ultima Online: Pretty much the founder of MMO's. It still has a fair fan base playing after close to a decade. That has got to say something about how good it is right there.
Meridian59 was the first MMORPG. Again, get your facts straight or STFU.
People who are saying that World of Warcraft is the worst MMO really don't know much about the MMO market. Its not about pleasing one person, its about making sure you can get millions of people to come back, month after month. the reason there are 10 million people or more on runescape is because their friend tells them: "YOU JUST GOTTA TRY IT! IT IS SO COOL! BLAH BLAH BLAH!" When they either play it for half a minute or for just a week, they find out that the graphics are retarded, and the gaming is retarded. Dangit, the whole game looks retarded! They are just making/forcing them to play it constantly! That answers all your questions!:confused:

It doesn't matter what the game was built on. If I don't like the graphics, I'll belittle them and dislike the game if I please. I am not an idiot because of this. Just ignorant.
Why does it have have a large 10+ million players?
Well consider... adding ever account ever made in all the years equal 10+ million. Everyone I know has tried this game at least once. I for one think it has good enough gameplay, but the community sucks, and ALL need to learn how to type.( the wild is another story... That place is not governed in anyway...)
How many Members ARE there currently? Can you give me a number? note, I say, ARE, not were, and not combined in the years.
and also, the game was publicized the same way WoW was.

I keep seeing WoW=millions of players and Runescape has 10mil+...have any of u seen the numbers on games in korea O.o they have like (makes up a number) gigagillionz of players. Also the total count comes from accounts that are made so ask yourself how many runescape accounts are actually being played...i mean if 10mil + players were on one game at any given the server would ****ing crash and thats real talk ^^. Same goes for WoW ive played both and i see players but not the numbers that you all mention lol. Fieste could say yea we have 5k players playing our game...but with all the people that left and counting the ones that come in id put the actual player number around 2-3k see the difference. Oh well jus my opinion.

I still don't understand why people hate WoW so much, especially those who have never played it. If a person have never played a game to a majority, then they have no right to bash on it or say it sucks. What I mean by "to a majority," is that some people only play for an hour and say it sucks. People should just stick to explaining why they didn't like a game instead of bashing on it all the time.
Some games you need to play for a while before getting anywhere and get a real feel for the game. If a person played WoW up to about like level 30 and said they didn't like it, that's understandable. If a person played WoW to level 70 and said they didn't like it, it's like, why'd you play it that far then?
Well, I'm done ranting now, but people need to learn to think about what they're going to say before they say it.

Why does everyone say that Rune Scape sucks? Gamplay wise, You'd have to admit, Concept wise, It's one of the best. It always has something for you to do. I personally don't like the game because of the awful community it has. The people who play that game, really need to see the true world of MMORPGs. Runescape is a great way to start off (I.E: Making money: The mining/farming they have in that game can teach you how to become rich in the MMORPGs to come. Grinding: Rune Scape has a ton of grinding. Just like any old MMORPG. Tutorial: Runescape probably has the best tutorial for MMORPGS out right now. When I played Ragnarok Online, I died in the tutorial area way too many times because somethings I didn't understand.)
The biggest flaw in Rune Scape is the PvP community. They suck, and they KNOW they suck, so they bully all the other characters and lure them into team fights. when they ask for a decent 1v1.
Oh, and I don't suck at Ragnarok. I'm pretty decent. I just suck a PvP. :P

I'm sorry to say this but Runescape isn't interesting! The first thing I saw was badly pixelated people and the PK was horrible. In my area, alotta kids around 12 played it so it gets quite annoying after a while.
I wanted to play Matrix! But my computer sucked last time. WoW is cool too, alotta publicity and I didn't know there was a game called heroes/villains...
Fiesta is the best by far! Great people, great parties, great events. If only Fiesta has more room for individuality...

I don't like it because it's extremely over rated. Level cap can be reached too fast, and there's no point in really paying for it. And I also heard it's only fun when you play with friends. I don't have those. Atleast.. One's that are willing to play an MMORPG with me.

Meh, you forgot LotRO in your voting list. That's where my vote goes because it's the most grind heavy MMO I've had the misfortune of playing thus far. It makes me sad since Turbine has such fantastic customer service, but then you have the dud DDO which is pretty much instance run grinding and LotRO which is another grind fest.
Especially when compared to the phenominally poor cs offered by Vanguard for the first 6 months it was out. I don't know if it's still a 3+ day wait on a ticket there just to get told to reroll or not since I finally gave up after losing over a level of xp from bug deaths. So those three I think head my list for worst MMOs; DDO, LotRO, and Vanguard.

Hearing something and experiencing something are two completely different things, and as for the level cap thing, I've had my gnome mage for 2 years and he's only level 65. That's not saying that it takes forever either, I just play at my own pace. And I agree with you on the friend part, because that's the only time I play is when I go over to my friend's house so I can play when he's around. Makes the game a lot funner sitting next to him and chatting with him about WoW stuffs. Other then that, can you explain in more detail why you think it's overrated?

the end
And NEVER judge a game by its graphics!!!!!
Look at The Legend of Dragoon. Graphics are horrible and i never played it for more than five mintues before saying it sucked. Seriously... I was wrong. Kicks ***. So just because you dont like how big its pixels are doesnt mean you wont like the game in itself

As much attention as this thread have, it is really unecessary. To me, it is very plain and simple. The worse MMORPG is the one with the least amount of people playing it. Although, you need to split this into 2 categories; one for games that you have to pay and the other is one that you dont have to pay.

WoW...why?
well couse you have to pay, the community is made of idiots, the characters look lame, hate the pvp/pk system... etc and it is way over-rated

i played on lineage2, nice graphics, kinda great community. but my friend came to fiesta some time ago, i joined too although graphic is not as good compared to lineage2 but still i kinda love the gameplay, and the community is much bigger which makes it all more fun. :)
still, runescape is da worst !

I just got into Fly For Fun and it gets fun once you hit 60 then you get more skills. I'm a psy level 66 and I can fight a monster 100 levels higher then me because I have satanology which freezes the monster in place for 20 seconds. It'll take hours to kill, but I can take on giants by myself if I have enough mp potions. You aren't even at the worst part. I get .05 percent per kill, and .15 in a party and .22 with a leech. Level 80+ get .003 exp divide that by 100 and see how many they have to kill to level up.
The game is getting a lot better now, but they made it harder to level, looting is only 3-7 seconds long and your pets die if you die. Oh, and now you lose .5 exp per every death and you can dlvl. It's still a great game, but would be alot better if they fixed a few things.
Runescape was a good game, but a lot of people did some stupid stuff and lost everything like going into the wilderness and ended up losing everything so they quit and hated the game. Or were stupid enough to get scammed.
So far, I haven't found any bad mmos out there or rpgs I'm trying WOW right now and it's great how there are a lot of quests because I like the RPG style it gives.
Haven't tried this game, but if the story and the quest are lacking I probably won't play because those ugly paper mario graphics aren't my style.

to be honest, if you think about it, games that have a monthly charge of a tenner or more, are not worth playing in my book, even if they are updated once every few days like WoW, the charg is too high per month, and Final fantasy 11 online is wrong, end of story.
As for runescape, the graphics may not be the greatest, but seriously, at lest you can do more them fighting in it, magic is more than just combat, and considering that all players are EQUAL, its a fair game.
thats why i hate flyff, people could buy their way to high levels -.-
fiesta is a passable game, I'm waiting for the SoS to come into open beta, as my PC will handle it much better then it does fiesta

RuneScape isn't on the list, but it's not the worst by far.
The absolute worst is Guild Wars, no non-combat stuff what so ever.

Ugh, yes, I forgot the horror that is FFXI... Most MMOs that I pay to play, I get solely to be able to play with my fiance as something we can spend time together doing. So imagine my disgust and thoroughly righteous anger when we bought two copies of FFXI only to find out that they dump you on a random server. Not only that, but if you want to join your friend on a different server it costs a LOT of ingame money... Totally bogus and fully irritating. We cancelled right away. You lose FFXI!

Only played WOW (free server) n Fiesta from v list, and compared to WOW, Fiesta has a LOT to do...
I'll simply state what I don't like in Fiesta compared to WOW
Money system! (NPC suck, higher lvl items rip u apart!)
Chat system (No permanent control of spamming bots yet! Even bots on MAP! damn that sucks!)
Events system... (mostly unfair events)
Exp losing system (hell that's v worst of all, u can LvL DOWN!!! DOWN!! LoL... v difficulty is not v main pblm, its that I get so pissed of when I die bcoz of lag! n i did lag in WOW but not such a big deal to run to ur coarpse when u die to revive freely or pay a 5min lowering skills buff n small reduction in armor life near a town)
Quest system (becomes monotonous over time...)
Selling system (ha! i have a frd that even doesnt open a store since its so crappy... 5slots man, n u cant log out! Auction house n Mailing system pawns that Fiesta a lot!!! Leave apart Auction house, the simple Global Chat system n Global Mailing system helps u sell stuff quickly)
Creatures (no big variations...way to go...)
Guild wars/ PvP system (whats' v aim... become known! get insults? get harassing bit**es???, for what in v end?? "ur guild has draw/won/lost war" THATS ALL!!) lol so useless... go c 2 relatively same lvl cleric fight... (if ever it finishes!)
Gears (so pawned by WOW on that lvl!)
Enhancement system (lol, no comments)
and last but not least...
No story to follow!! Each class should have a mini storyline or smthing...
What I c better in Fiesta is the number of ppl, activitiy lvl, friendliness lvl of players, first 2 ACCESSIBLE KQ (only!), effects like "BOOM" on Critical (main thing holding me ^_^), nice maps, less unresolved bugs (ya main pblm with WOW free servers!) ... can't remember more...
I hope I dnt get flamed by idiotic, one sided fans' comments... thx 4 reading...

Yea just got into WOW three nights... ago now. It's an amazing game. I feel like I have to be prepared mentally to play it. I can't just play it lol. The game is humongous and has a great story line and takes place in a medieval era, but the technology is thriving. A Tram station? GENIUS! There are so many NPCs and quest to do. I love it. I'm lost again in some Dwarven city. I don't care about the graphics if the game has everything above. Everyone says graphics suck and they do, but the idea and the potential that game has is amazing. One thing I hate on games is having agros. I think you should be able to fight when you want. But yea... so far wow and Fly For Fun are my favorites. Maplestory was fun for some time, but some of these games have me lose interest when they lose stuff to do, but to just level up. Having a lot of quest makes me want to keep playing to do them all.

Heh, Everquest wasn't the first, Meridian 59 was the first. UO came next, then EQ. And predeceasing those, was MUDs
Actually Neverwinter Nights on AOL was the first MMORPG...
Out of the games listed, Matrix Online. The game engine was incredibly laggy.

I think, the worst MMORPG is Ragnarok Online 2 (not 1). But there isn't this option. :)

It is only run on a java server, what more did you expect? Runescape isn't all that bad though. It is only put down by the graphics and the community. Yes I admit the community sucks and so do the graphics. But let's back up here, I said it was run on a java server. The graphics are pretty complex for a java server. That is about as good as 3d graphics get on java. You come to fiesta and think back and think that the graphics sucked, but you know it depends on the server. Runescape isn't all that bad really. It is pretty good actually. I still stand by Maid Marion as the worst.

Ok I HATED that when you died in Final Fantasy you would lose experience.
The higher level you were the more experience you lost, also it was even harder to get experience and after every level you'd need a ridiculous amount more than you did the last level.
I stopped playing when at level 30 I died and lost 3,000 experience that took me a verrrry long time to get.

lol how can people say the world of warcraft is the worst game? lol ive heard it was the best mmo game out there but the worst ive played is actually runescape... not that it was horrible it just had bad graphics and that was basically it.

I'll say none of them is the worst MMORPG. A lot of people hate Runescape, but there still are fan of that game. The only games that could be the worst would be those that has been a total failure straight at the opening, and closed soon after. If a game is still living, then it isn't a bad MMORPG.

MxO is definitely NOT the worst MMORPG! I would have to say that on the list it's Guild Wars. Poor Game play, ridiculously long quests, but still not terrible.
