Q: What makes online games fun for you?
A: There are really many factors that make a game interesting and worthwhile. Main things are economy, PvP, dungeon / castle ownership and nice community.
Make sure economy isnt spoiled by too high inflation or trading cash shop items. There are few games in which you can trade cash shop items, this spoils economy a lot, because rich people just buy things for real money and sell them in-game which makes other people leave the game because they feel this game is unfair (Cash shop isn't a bad thing, just don't make it too much.).
PvP should be a nice addon when you have enough of grinding and other boring things you "must" do to be strong in the game. There should be an arena for dueling (PvP). An option to turn on PK and kill people and a system to prevent people from killing all the time. Big battles are important to keep people entertained, for example 16 vs 16 players fighting about owning a dungeon / castle which gives them tax or other stuff.
Nice community... we all know, when you come to the game as a newbie and no one answers your question you simply leave after 15min. Maybe a tutorial island.
