View Full Version : About the complaints of SC and SC users...

I've been seeing a lot of complaints lately about how OS has raised prices for many of its SC items, and complaints have always been around that fighting SC users in PVP is unfair and SC users get trolevel faster (etc); so I figured I'd make this poll to nswer a question that came up while I was thinking about this:
If OS charged you $5 per month (per game, not for access to all games) lowered prices on their expensive SC items, made a few of the SC items normal in-game items as well as gifting you a relatively small amount of SC every month you played (like 300 or so), would you do it, or would you find another free game?

I'd do it. The site spammers wouldn't be in the $5 a month server.

*whispering*: (you're supposed to vote when you agree with one of the terms in the poll)
But yeah...no spammers was a definite plus and main reason I said option 1...I'd pay $5 a month to get rid of them

I voted by option nr 1 BUT i doubt this will ever happend.
It is lot more easier to lauch 1000 new games covered by CS as changed game status from F2P to P2P.
Beside there is one more step in this situation witch might be very troubling for OS and i mean changing status requires reegsamination of Game rating and OS might loose because of this current rating for Fiesta.
And do you seriously believe that OS will set fee at 5$ per month?, somehow i doubt in this<rather i will expect 15$ or more>.

I never said I expect them to do it, this is only a poll, not a petition. Also, if they made this a P2P game, the price would have to only be $5-10 per month, WoW is like $15 or 20, so much more than $10 and most people would just switch over to that (also a low cost like $5 per month would allow people with low budgets to stay on if they wanted, while still allowing a cash shop for the permanent and longer-duration/greater stat increase items to make additional money.

I voted for option 3.
I like the way that it's optional to pay or not.
Not everyone is a SC.Meaning, for the people that don't use SC, they either can't or don't want to. It seems a bit unfair to do this to the people who really can't. And for the people that just don't want to, th might feel annoyed that they actually have to start paying or they don't get to play; I would be. xD

Then the people who can't buy sc will not be able to play.
If they can't buy sc I doubt they can pay to play either.
So I voted no. :p
And, buying sc + paying 5$ a month would be even bigger sum of $ than just buying sc.

I'd do it if they made the holiday sets perm when they came around in their cycle.
Otherwise it'd be off to a new MMO.

I'd do it. The site spammers wouldn't be in the $5 a month server.
Is my nose stopped up causing me to miss the faint scent of sarcasm, or are you seriously suggesting that a required $5 a month will deter spammers whose sites are selling gold/silver/whatever for (as of last one I had to block last night) around $12 per transaction?
Or is there some other rationale I've not accounted for- increased regular cash flow = increased anti-spammer efforts or some such? Because at the moment, I'll admit I can't see that statement being much more than another version of the pie-in-sky "if we had one new server, the choirs would sing, the doves would fly, and there'd be no more lag, forever and forever amen" sort of claim. Nice on the face of it, but not much behind it.
And I'm not saying "No, it absolutely won't work that way"- but I am saying I don't see how/why it would either, so throw me a bone here.
As for the poll, I went option 4. The issue of "how much" is irrelevant to me, it's whether I have to pay or not. I don't mind the current system, I pay for the "toys" I like and if I don't mind going without toys for a while, I play free. The moment I have to pay to play at all, the door won't be able to close quickly enough to hit me on the way out.
No offense, I like the game or I wouldn't be here- but in the shape it's in now, it ain't worth a required monthly fee from where I sit. As always, Your Mileage May Vary, but that's my take at the moment.

Consider that spammers are jailed and banned, meaning they have to remake their accounts, and pay another $5 to make their characters to spam with.
Right now the spammers don't care because when they are banned, they just make a new yahoo email ID out of random letters and number, a new account with another random name, and a new character with a random name and they're back to business. This way the spammers would actually be losing money each time their accounts were terminated (they have to pay $5 to make a new one), their profit margin would go way down -to the point where most would probably just find another game to do it in.

True. This would most likely mean the SC users leave, or they stop buying. If they stop buying....then OS lose the profit.

Alright, I see where you're going with this then. And yeah, that would likely starve most of them out to be sure. If nothing else, you might be left with the token from a site that's hanging on by doing "business" in multiple games, but nothing resembling the infestation we sometimes have now.

If it would mean that SC buyers will no longer have a hugenormous advantage over non-sc users then yes, i would pay. I never bought SC because you simply dont get your money's worth. Its way to expensive. Definitaly in comparison to p2p games. But $5 i can miss. If they would make it $10 i would consider it. $10+ is a big NUU.

I wonder how many people have chosen the first option, hopefully it's more non-sc users then sc users.

I voted leave as is, the moment I HAVE to pay, is the moment I move on....And as for the comment about SC being expensive...are you aware that 25$ get you 17,500 SC??? Thats a WHOLE FREAKIN LOT of SC...leaving it as is is the best way, the spammers can be blocked and quite frankly I use Guild chat and pty chat more than anything. The spammers cant infiltrate that.. And for those who say SC isnt able to be gotten...its coming to Wal-Mart...it will be more readily accessable than ever now...isn't Wal-Mart's evilness just about everywhere now?
