I don't know the intricacies of the tos, but i know some of you do.
If a guild member/s is say spawn killed in abyss or harrassed somehow by another player, is it against the tos to guild war them?

I read that and it sounds like a silly question, but I was told the guild/player could be banned as it is in "revenge" if we were reported. I was not aware of such a rule. Would just like it cleared up.

Thanks

These are the rules from GM_Dakkon which I believe still apply.

Now the rules of guild warring:

1. Guild wars are never to be used as a means of coercion. What this means is NEVER threaten to guild war a player if they refuse to do something you want. This is a form of harassment and doing so will risk action against the individual, the guild admins, and in severe cases deletion of the guild

2. Guild wars are never to be used as a means of revenge. It doesn’t matter how much a player may have offended you, or how much you may not like them. This is one reason why we have a block feature.

3. Chain warring (continuously warring a guild whenever possible) is prohibited. Unless agreed upon by both guilds. So threatening or actively warring a guild repeatedly is not allowed unless both guilds say it is okay.

4. Guild wars are never to be used to kick a player out of an area, or to ruin a players good time.

The key with most of these rules is intent. If the intent of any war is to break any of these rules, action WILL be taken. Please realize some of these rules may appear to be broken during the course of an average guild war, so take the circumstances into account before reporting it.

Yeah technically it is against the rules, but to be honest I've seen and known many guilds who war because of that reason and nothing is done to them. I think outspark doesn't stick their nose into situations like guild warring someone for revenge unless it becomes a constant harassment and chain wars on that same guild. Most people just threaten to report in-game when you war them for revenge, but the chances of them actually reporting it is like 10% and the chances of Outspark doing something about it is like 1%. xD

Thanks guys. Yeah the 2nd rule does surprise me, I've never seen it in use myself. I totally agree meek, what you said is reality and wouldn't be concerned of ban. It is hard to argue it to someone bound to the tos tho D;

Like they said before me, yes, war for revenge is considered a violation of the Guild War Rules. That said, if your reason for wanting to war is because they were harassing you, or a guildie, in any map...they have violated the ToS themselves.

The Abyss, while it is a PvP map, is still an area in which the ToS applies. Those that resort to harassment in such a map may think they can get away with it but well frankly, they can't. Tell the player to SS the situation (convo) and send it on through the Submit A Ticket link in my siggy. Outsparks been cracking down on the jerks in game lately, I'm sure it won't go unnoticed.

Lol, it's just a suggestion. You don't have to do it, if you don't really like hearing the person you can easily just block them? I guess that's that they mean but I dunno.

I will tell you something..
Those rules are sometimes reasons why people guild war.

Block feature can only block words, not block actions unforunately.

Also isnt it harrasment to spawn kill?

What are you talking about, I've never gotten in a fight with say I don't know, JaneDoe about the rules of guild wars and then followed up with a war. Block shouldn't have to fix actions because that's not what it's there for. No spawn killing isn't harassment.
