maplestory copy?

i played this game ages ago but a different company had it and it looked so much like maplestory but just worse does anyone else think so?

This is like comparing an FPS to an FPS (Or even CA to Blackshot) Sure they look the same, but they're totally different.

People really should get more background information. Saying Wind Slayer looks like Maple Story is like saying Dragon Quest looks like Final Fantasy or something. Of course there are always multiple games of each genre. Of course it'd be awesome if any game was a completely new innovative genre, but most people just want to earn money and make games of genres that sell good.

Anyways, Maple Story wasn't even the first game of that genre. The first offline game that played like this was probably "Wonder Boy". The first online game of that type was probably Ghost Online. Maple Story is rather a "modern" game in that genre actually, but it's the first one that was successful on the English market. There are at least 7 sidescrolling MMORPGs by the way.

Windslayer has been around for along time and korea took them 3 freaken years to get over here.

Maplestory is japenese.

Not to mention that both games play completely differently:
- in Wind Slayer you can dash, double jump and defend
- in Wind Slayer when a monster is hit it cannot be hit again until a certain time
- in Wind Slayer there is a strong focus on PVP (you need victy points already just to job change)

Well the GNG version is a company and it temporarily hosts games until it finds a buyer it didn't get bought until like september.

Never even CARED to play Maple Story ever! I hope this isn't like that. I heard some negative things about it being PVP and cheap. Hope this has an even playing field and is old school 2D fun. I'm not even saying one is better than the other or these are both same since I played neither yet.

Im just going by what i saw on the video.

alot of those textures look like maplestory textures, just saying, and alot of people say it's copying ms because they have never heard of ws, not that they're trying to rag on it.

Ive checked on avocado site and they go back since 2005 ish for Windslayer.

Windslayer was ment to be an arcady MMORPG because players could be more ready when they play it.
