I apologize for the post in the gameplay section. I didn't see the general section or i would've just posted here to start with.
Hello I'm agito from the original windslayer closed beta :D.
I know windslayer didn't die just because the gms stopped updating. It died because the gameplay got boring because of two main problems.
no.1 ridiculously hard grind fest
Seriosuly. You do your missions and after awhile you run out or you have to do the same mission 3 times in a row cause its the only one left. Then what do you do for the rest of that level? You fight some more and more and more until you reach the next level. Then you get like 2 or 3 quest. Finish them and grind all the way to the next level. (I guess pvp stops you from getting bored inbetween though. :D) In most mmos the exp you get from monsters stays the same but your required exp to level up to the next level rises. In WINDSLAYER the exp you get from monsters lowers AND your exp requirements higher. So the grind is extra hard. I know the level cap is only 99 and you gotta make people work for it, but this is ridiculous
no.2 The battle system is outta wack.
The battle system is the complete opposite of maplestory's which in the end gives the monster[B] the advantage. You hit it and you have to give it a fair chance to recover and hit you back. While on the other hand it is capable of spam attacking you with no invulnerable time what-so-ever.
There is one other problem but its not really that big. But in party mode it just splits the exp instead of giving some party bonus exp, so is this version going to have an [B]effective party system or not?
I just want to know if these are fixed or if it's the same as the original.
(Even with these 2 major problems the game's pvp is a nice touch and almost makes up for both of these problems cause strangely enough you get the invulnerable time you deserve only in pvp.)

1. I agree that the grind is ridiculous at least at levels above 20 (before it it's still okay).
2. Yes, right now partying is useless in Wind Slayer because of the "hit immunity" and the fact that there is no party exp bonus at all. However I kind of liked the "hit immunity" because it makes this game special compared to other sidescrolling MMORPGs. You actually need to time your attacks right, it needs some rhythm skill and so on. My suggestion would be to keep the "hit immunity" when playing solo, but adding the additional system that the "hit immunity" does not apply to party members. This would encourage partying a lot.

It's not a matter if someone's played the game or not, it's now a matter of how we can make the game better.

You like it? Wow I just find it annoying. You hit the monster, you wait for his invulnerable time to go you hit him again. I just find it annoying and makes the grind takes even longer. Then sometimes the invulnerable times switch up so its hard to keep with the rhythm. You're suggestion is really nice though.
No one gets invulnerable time?
It becomes a spam attack fest.
Example Latale
Monsters get invulnerable time and we don't?
Then we gotta hit them move back and wait for them to get ready. Then hit em again.
Example Windslayer
We get long invulnerable times and they don't?
Killing is easier, Thus making up for the bad grinds.
Example Maplestory, Ghost Online,
I know they probably can't change this stuff since they don't own the game their just hosting it. But if windslayer takes an epic plunge down into the abyss and only has like 20 active players again I'm hoping they might change it then, If it thrives and keeps a good amount of players they won't need to change it. We'll just have to wait for the games full release again.
Hey it just came to me you were like the first person I ever partied with on windslayer. Wassup ryo
well I probably won't be on these forums at all until the seventh. So don't expect any quick responses.

Because this games ending is soon to come without more exp..

I like the mob immunity simply because it needs some skill.
In Maple Story I usually just had to keep pressed "Space" (I put my main attack on Space there) and slowly walk to kill the monsters. I didn't need any skill, I just bashed everything to dead like crazy and got a 'great' 0.001% exp per each kill. While there's some action with this it somewhat gets really boring. Honestly the only thing that required skill in Maple Story where those hella annoying Jump Quests. Everything else just required a lot patience.
And even although it has this 'awesome' mass killing system and a party bonus, partying an Maple Story still wasn't worth it. Why? Because the best exp mobs where always those you could kill with 1-2 hits and you apparently don't need a party to kill those.
In Wind Slayer it's the opposite. I need to be very careful when just killing a single monster. I need to attack in the correct rhythm. Killing a single mob can take some minutes. But instead of 0.001% it gives 0.2% exp (effectively the grind in WS and MS is about the same). You can even do neet stuff like hitting a monster once and the dashing through it without being hit. And it's very possible to evade all the monsters too.
But as I said, I still agree that grinding is just too awful that it could be fun and partying is also useless (both are similar bad in MS).

I odn't like the mob immunity D: What the hell is the use of being an assassin that can attack very quickly if you can't damage them?! If this is not changed then I more than likely won't play.....I mean it looks good, but if being able to hit faster doesn't matter, then why bother?

Yea Im with you on this one. Those skills that do double stuff like the double hit just ruin things. You go and use that skill and the first attack hits the monster but the 2nd attack hits it too but the monster has already walked into you by the time the 2nd attack hits so you take damage if you were a warrior or monk who has to be close while fighting.
That is the main reason I quit the first one because since when do you want to time your attacks to kill a monster...If it was a real monster coming at you your not going to say "ok let me hit the monster and wait a couple of seconds before I hit it again" no your going to want to take it down as fast as possible.
If they don't change it to something better im quitting just like I did the first one.

Why in the world are you gonna be like....hmm ok hit.......errrr.......hit.......crap didn't hurt it....hit.......yay.........IRL. You're not. (Although IRL you would just say mmkay....stab heart....monster dead on ground...) You are going to kill it quickly. The fair fighting rules only apply to two people. And even the fair fighting rules don't have anything against continually hitting.....

You guys have weird real lifes. 'Normal humans' would consider their next move first when their first attack didn't kill the 'target'. You really should go to... let's say a Kendo course. If you bash like crazy on the opponent there you've lost pretty fast.

i think should take away wait time you already have a timer on skills so you cant realy spam and your mp will go away so all it will do is make the grinding easyer because i did notice monster can spam hit you but you can spam hit them
also they can keep that timer in pvp though 2 make it fair but in 1v1 if you time it right you can keep hitting the person but hey thats just a fighting style kinda

Koreans exp rate did get bumped up to something like 2x?
and apparently we got it.....

Another thing that seriously needs to be fixed are the EXP rates for PvP. People who actually get kills (the last person to hit them before they die) get the most EXP and then again it not much! I don't remember exactly how much EXP you got but after about 10-15 minutes fighting in the arena after its over you get like 200 EXP or so. I don't remember it going into the 1000s ever.
Also the EXP shouldn't be limited to the people who get the final strike. I think if you pretty much didn't kill anyone you would only get like 26 EXP or so. Also its not easy to get a kill because usually someone who was about to die would just start running away all over the map and whoever was able to catch him killed him.

I spoke to SKiNG about this.
We recognize the EXP issue already and we will be monitoring progress during CBT. We'll make necessary changes when OBT arrives.
There, It may not change for CBT but if nobody is happy with it, They will change it for OBT.

Oh that is very good to know they are taking action and giving the players what they want! Finally a company who understands supply and demand! I bet its the reason the old game company didn't want the game because they didn't make changes and too many people quit.

Always make the game the way most people would like it, That way more people will play it.
