I've played a few games with "summoners" and they don't get to summon at all.

summoners are meh, you dont really get new looking skills, only faeries that boosts ur elemental damage... but they are good for 1vs1, with combos, for example, you uses freeze, then right after that you throws a water type fairy to freeze again....up to 3 fairies, then fireball and for sure you killed your opponent... elementalists are more for 1vsX (firewall is a really pain...).

Aren't Summoners good for boss hunting or something? Since if you level up pretty high and your little faeries are pretty strong, you can pretty much solo a boss or something. I'm not so sure about that.

Bosses arent tough or hard to kill... anyone can beat them easyly, even if your lvl is a bit low... they are like normal monsters with a bit more hp and hits a bit harder... this game is cool but needs lots of tinny improvments ;)

i agree i played this back with gng and the bosses werent much tougher (use my chart for the hp http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Wind_Slayer/Monsters)

Yeah. I wish there were some challenging bosses though so we would have to party up to beat or something.

HAHAAHAHA, i laugh at ur x4 combo.... simply BLOCK the first time you gets frozen and bye bye combo, you only gets 120 damage cause the blocked fairy.
Anyways i hope we can PvP sometime...ill show you what a Ele can do :rolleyes:

Elementalists are honestly a lot better than Summoners in terms of damage. While you can stack faeries 4x for extra damage, the damage of a single fairy is still a lot lower than the damage of your first job Mage skills (at least in the G&G version). The buff % increases don't stack either.

Elementalists get wider skills that are easier to hit things with (plus getting basically the same skill 4 times in a row isn't exactly motivating).

Meteor might be good though so who knows. Nobody ended up getting it in the last version. The upside is that you can combo skills a lot better, and you use less MP than an Elementalist.

Well here's my two cents: Both classes are as strong as the person using them. It doesn't matter how much "better" an elementalist might be, but a summoner with skill can still beat them. For example, I, as a novice (-.-"), can beat novices that are many levels higher or have higher skill levels of pvp by using strategies and planning my moves. The thing that I really like about this game is that you win in pvp, not because youra high level, but because you've got skill (unlike Secret of the Solstice).

If you want to summon animals, go for beastmaster (Archer 2nd Job)

Sorta true, thats only in standard, in unlimited a higher level will usually win, though skill does play a huge role and a lower level can beat a higher level, its just that much harder

ill say that both classes are quite balanced on their way of fighting and both are quite powerful

summoners can get quite a lot of extra power from the fairies but apparently that will only happen until you have all 4 fairies i have wind and water and mixing a shot of 2 wind and 2 water provides an extra 30 points of dmg compared to 4 of the same element so i guess mixing all 4 fairies in one attack would be devastating

also the elemental dmg bonus only stacks if you have dif element faires out

so if you have all 4 at lvl 1 you will get extra 40% elemental attack and defence

as far as meter goes id like to see it in action but i dont think ill get that far in cb so ill have to wait for ob to check that one out

so as far as i see it elementalist develop skills faster than summoner but both are well balanced and deal massive dmg to both monsters and players alike

btw if anyone wants some asurance as to what i say im lvl 33 summoner

Yea, exactly. Even if, stat wise, an elementalist was better than a summoner, a summoner with skill could still win, it would just be much harder.

well i am definitely going summoner i hope to be able to get there pretty quickly
