there is exp lost for dieing above level 10
and the amount you lose really sucks i think it was 10% of the exp needed to level or something... or atleast from my experance it was because i needed 50k to level and i lost 5k and for 100k to level i lost 10k etc... so thats my guess on it... but its easy to stay alive so i wouldnt worry

Hmm, I'm sure every mmorpg at least has some type of minus exp when your dying. You lose exp in some way or another.

10%? That's no much, that amount only becomes significant by the time you get to a higher level and get like .01% after killing a monster XD But when you get that high I would hope you are skilled enough to know your limits and when you need to heal and how to keep yourself alive. So once you get to higher lvls when exp is hard to get it shouldn't be to much of an issue, I would hope. But I can see when your a lower lvl and inexperienced and kept losing 10% it could become a issue. But really low lvls shouldn't complain as much as their exp would be easier to gather XD But when you get to a point where it's an hour for ten percent, instead of like 10mins XD, by all means complain your head off. Seriously though when your a low lvl and lose 10% it's annoying but easy to get back as long as your not getting that exp by killing monsters that take you a minute to kill just to get .5%, that's just stupid, if your a smart killer 10% is nothing.

From what I've heard, it sounds like level 10 is pretty much .01% per mob

That's why quests are so important, I was so desperate for quests at level 10, I was doing quests for NPCs that weren't even related to archers, I was doing Priest quests... Monk quests... I basically sold myself for EXP.

Are we playing the same game?
1. Quest give ALMOST NO EXP in Wind Slayer. A single mob of your level usually gives more.
2. At level 10 a mob of your level gives around 0.5% exp, but that's already pretty little considering the battles are very slow paced and you need like one minute per kill.

Like I said even if you get .1% per kill and take 10 seconds to kill one monster it won't take that long to lvl. Fight smarter not harder. It doesn't matter if you kill at your lvl or just a little below if you get decent exp and kill them quite fast, it's worth it.

You say that's not much?
0.1% exp every 10 second means, that you need 10000 seconds for 100% exp. 10000 seconds are 166 minutes, let's add 14 minutes for shopping and stuff, then it's 3 hours per level. How is that not a lot? 10% means you lose your last 18 minutes playing because you died. 18 minutes of your life wasted!
And those are not really representative numbers. This might be true for level 20-30, but on level 40 it's more like 0.1% exp per minute. That's 1000 minutes. Which is 17 hours per level! If you die 100 minutes (almost two hours!!!) of your life wasted.
Dunno, but I'd consider that as 'much'.

On a sidenote, I'm just a casual player so 17 hours is basically equal to 1 month for me. Playing a whole month for a single level is quite boring.

I think it'd be fair if we did lose exp if we died. If we didn't, it'd be too easy to level.

It wouldn't be too easy to level even then because of the bad grind. Losing exp just should motivate the players to stay alive. It doesn't need to be as much as 10%. 1% or 0.5% is fine already.

I dont know a single person on GnG that died so do't worry about that. You become shortly invicible hen you get hit so you can always get out of nasty situations.

If anyone here has played tibia, this exp loss should be nothing to complain about. Tibia has a deathloss of 10% of ALL of the exp you have ever gained, along with a cut in your skills exp. AND you ALWAYS lose your backpack, AND you have a chance of losing 1 of your eq items. So someone could easily lose a weeks work with one death. I know people who died at level 100 (hard to get) and downgraded to level 98. And those levels really are not easy to get.

10% exp loss is nothing if you are dilligent, just remember the old mmorpg saying "exp per hour, not by per kill!" (from the WoW strategy guide page um.. 34 i believe.)
