can we upgrade armor and weapons?

Yes you can.
You can upgrade your weapons, armor (but those are high levels), and shields for warriors.
You need to have your own materials needed for the item you want by simply clicking the "Forgery" in town. Just go down the list and select what you want.
Another way to upgrade in Wind Slayer is by combining your armor and weapon (no accessories) through an item called elementirium.
You can get elementirium by mining.
There are more than one type of elementirium. Higher level elementirium will give you more bonus than a lower level. If your equipment's or weapon's level is lower than the higher level elementirium, you can't add any. It must be a lower or same level elementirium to work on your weapon and armor.
To upgrade, you need to click "Reinforce" in town.
You are allowed to use up to 5 elementirium on a single equipment.
The stats from the elementirium varies depending on what kind of element you get. One of these elements will give you one of the following stats:
From common to rare
Fire Element - Fire attack/defense bonus or increases maximum HP or increases Strength
Water Element - Water attack/defense bonus or increases maximum MP or increases Intelligence
Wind Element - Wind attack/defense bonus or increases Dexterity
Earth Element - Earth attack/defense bonus or increases Spirit
Weapons will have the element attack bonus and armors will have the element defense bonus.
There are also two more different stats that can be gained from elementirium but these are extremely rare. Their element are neutral and will increase attack damage if it is on a weapon or increase defense if on armor.

Not for upgrading.
Those dews are required in the second job changing quest to become a summoner.

Soo, if a dagger gets + wind damage, and I have no wind skills, is that wind damage useless?

I heard that different elements will cancel each other out, maybe that's the case with your weapon?

Elemental damage isn't used by just elemental skills, every attack will have the elemental damage applied.
And no, my gloves have only fire gems on them, they have 2 +10 str fire gems, and 1 +2 fire def gem.
And the str ones do nothing!

well i noticed that the first type element is the one it will use even if you get others. like my bow for instance http://i422.photobucket.com/albums/pp301/MikescoutZ/20090211092442617.jpg
the wind element was added first so the water has been nulled and is useless. the chances of getting all the same element are extremely low.then as for the other attributes here is a pic of what some of those are.

as you can see earth element adds hp regen and wind adds mp regen. for the other two fire and water well i have other equipment with them and fire adds to strength and water adds to spirit.

Wrong!
It's not the first elemental type that gives your damage.
In order of priority.
1) Most +'s determine your elemental
2) First on your weapon gives your elemental. (if you have 4+ water 4+ win, you get only 4+ water)
Regen/Stat up stones don't cancel, only the damage/defense stones cancel.
All i can think of.
Nice bow too. :P
I've failed 5 sets of forged 25 fists in a row, the first 2 stones i put on EVERY SINGLE ONE cancelled out, so i had no bonus on them all. >.>

If it is "Maximum Strength" then it increases your HP by that amount it increases. Unfortunately this doesn't apply to standard PvP.
The real strength boost comes from "Strength + X number", not to be mistaken with "Maximum Strength" as it is common for people to believe that it does.

when you upgrade a weapon, you might get an elemental attack bonus. when you open up character info, it will tell you the highest boost you got. so, let's say that you have a wind spell that gives you a +8 damage, a fire spell that gives you +12 damage, and a water spell that gives +10 damage. if you enchant a weapon 5 times and get 1 +4 wind gem, 1 +4 ice gem, and 3 +4 fire gems, then the character info screen will tell you that you have only +12 fire damage. it isn't true. Your fire attack will be a +24, ice will be +14, and wind will be +12. hope this helped.
