so now that the game is well on its way and invites should be sent either today or in the next few days .... when you get in to CB besides from just playing around what is the point. is it just fan feed back or are people supposed to report bugs and stuff?

A small quote from one of our beloved GMs:
A beta test offers a small group of people outside a company a chance to use a piece of software before it becomes available to everyone. Beta software usually includes all features but may also include known issues and bugs. Companies typically run beta tests for larger scale evaluation and real-world testing of their products.
During a closed beta test, software is released to a group of users by invite only. When software hits open beta it becomes available to anyone.
So yea, the key word is "evaluation" I'd say.

a short description is put there (pls read stickies before posting :) )
Anyways as stated, the point is an outdoors test, and as such CB is a non professional view on a game. This involves balance, bugs, exploits, language errors, server load.... so an answer to your question is: its both fan feedback and reporting bugs. (Though most of the fan feedback is recieved in open beta)
