I am just wondering what does and does not do it for everyone when it comes to gameplay. For example, do you like/dislike doing quests, do you like/dislike grinding on monsters over and over, do you love finding new items while out hunting, is character building including stat and skill distribution a big part of the game for you etc. etc. Feel free to mention any other things that make or break gameplay for you. Also, let me clarify that I am not talking about a game in general, so don't talk about how its all about storyline or graphics, this is strictly to discuss one's taste for RPG gameplay.

Well with any MMORPG there are going to be bouts of tedium and redundancy involved when trying to work a skill; whether it is a trade skill or fighting skill. One thing I will mention I liked was with Fiesta. I like how you can click the bar to mine or get herbs quicker. It is better than sitting there watching a 7 second animation of my character mining over and over again.

However, when it comes to grinding I like to have variety in what I grind on. I like being able to fight different monsters with unique apperances and skills. How many games are there were you kill wolves or bats? Or how many games do you see monster skins recycled but just in a different color? If I'm going to spend an hour or 2 straight grinding I like to see a little variety. I also like to have to plan attacks and use strategy. Just auto attacking for 30 seconds is kind of boring. I'm into planning my skills and trying to figure out what works best against a certain type of enemy.

Stat building is an interesting aspect as well because it adds some replay value for me. I like being able to create a unique character. If I want to play a mage and put into strength and make him melee sometimes, then I like to be able too. I might not get partied much because people like pure everything, but having fun is most important for me. Customization is what makes a game great for people because it allows you to create a truly unique character. I mean it might be simple to give everyone generic boosts at levels, but then that makes players rely soley on their equipment.

This might seem picky but it really doesn't take much to hold my attention. I can find something to appreciate about any game. These are just some key things I think that seperate average games from great games.

Shouldn't this forum be used for feedback about SoS? Not games in general?

Very cool. I agree with you on the monster skins. Thats why I think that this game has potential with its graphics style.

Well yes, when I first made the post I was looking for people to talk about gameplay they liked and speculation about what SoS may be like, hence making it feedback-ish.

Well, we know that there will be stat distribution, isn't that good enough? I am guessing it will be similar to RO or this other game people keep talking about in Japan.

meh as long as it has PvP and etc. that will keep me interested then sure. As long as I dont have to grind a month just to reach lvl 20... lol imagine if they decided to do the horrible leveling rate going around most P2P mmorpgs just to leech yoh moneh *shudder*

I agree that if I'm grinding I want variety so not to be bored.
And how stat building is a wonderful way to make your character uniqe.
But one thing I really like is how realistic it is. take for example SoS's weight limitation.
I the kind over person who over stocks on every thing and picks up just about whatever I find. but if you think about it if I was really in that situation I would be able to fight let alone move with the amout of stuff I was carrying. I believe little things like that get you into the feel over the game more.

I like the games that have good graphics or cute graphics maybe. I hate fighting the monsters over and over. I like to fight similar monsters that is the similar lvl.
I mostly play the game if the game has fast fighting and killing the monsters quickly.

would be nice in that stat window a breif descrip tooltip when hovering over them , like in fiesta, really helps my decision on what to put my newly acquried stat points.
