Okay, I know this isn't really an issue at all, but I noticed that most of the threads, in fact almost all of them, take place inside the game-specific forums. There should be like a 'melting pot' forum or something for general talking. This would extend the community contact and would also result in more people trying out different games. Project Powder per example, is a great game but is apparently dying because not enough play it. If there was a general forum for everyone to talk in about anything, Outspark-related or not, would make several games more popular, make the community more divers and less segregated between games, and would make it easier to talk about anything outside of Outspark (given it's appropriate of course.) And yes I know I may be quite new to Outspark, but I have learned much about online communities like this.

You're new here, so you never heard of our off-topic section. It used to be so filled with spam, OS decided to take it down and post a separate off-topic section in every game-specific forum.

Anyways, I highly doubt that it would be simple to mine out new players from OutSpark's current population. The only way to really increase new player entry is via advertizements on google and other popular sites.

I understand what your saying. What if you didn't want to talk about one of the games here and wanted to talk about anime for a change. All the forums here are game only stuff and just because each game has its own Off-topic board doesn't mean everyone who plays that game will happen to like talking about anime.

I think it would make a great addition because I know some people who never use the official boards for a game because they all deal around the game only and not much more. It sure would bring in new posters if anything.

The problem with the seperate off-topic forums is that only people who actually play that game would look in it. I want it so that people who play different games look at my threads. Besides, if people in one game talk to people in another, they're more likely to try the other game out. True, this forum isn't needed and has proven to be flawed in the past, but if it is moderated and unneccesary threads are deleted every so often, this could be avoided. It would also help if people made multi-game clans like my clan that plays several different games across the web. (We use Xfire and TeamSpeak to talk to each other.)

I hear what you guys are saying, maybe push toward a "General Off-topic section" and in it an off-topic section for each game. That might encourage players to interact with users from other games. Good idea.

Not exactly what I was thinking of, but that works too. Good interpretation. :P

It takes a serious bunch'a CLs to control all that spam though...

Well, doesn't take THAT many. But a good forum policy can help, and maybe some moderators with minor powers that look over the forum every now and then. I mean like, select Outspark users that seem pretty trustworthy. But yeah, just really a sugguestion.

A good forum policy is never followed unless enforced. You need to understand that. Secondly there was a general Off-Topic section for all gaming and anything disrelated to outspark basically it was for all of the games published by outspark, however it has been taken down and replaced with an off topic section for every individual game.

I do however agree with what you are saying, despite this I garentee what you're suggesting won't be done.

Edit:

I just realized something, There's an unofficial Outspark IRC channel that people from any published game are encouraged to use. Although it is only made up of about 20 or so users, and isn't quite a forum, people from any game are still welcome to come there and chat about anything, often times it's completely off topic and disrelated to outspark.

But you do have that option.
