View Full Version : Vendor Killing...

This is a HUGE problem in Uruga. Practically every time I sell scrolls in Uruga I get killed by morons who pull monsters into Uruga up the stairs and the die or lose aggro so people like me get killed while vendoring. This is why I vendor in Uruga with a lvl 7 fighter instead of my main mage so I won't lose exp. It still makes me very angry when people do this and I wind up not selling as much as I wanted. There needs to be an invisible wall at the bases of all stairs going into Uruga that makes it so monsters can't cross and come in (or at least the guard NPCs could do their jobs and not let them in). If I had a gold for every time I've been killed while vendoring I wouldn't be in the scroll business...

Yes this is a problem. However, Outspark probably won't address it for months. The best thing to do for now is to set up your shop farther away from the stairs.

Well, I would either just move or not sell at all. Though, I've noticed that people who usually see monsters come to Uruga have an instant reaction to kill them.

Or make the Guards actually do something. What are they guarding anyways? The air? Certainly not the city.

i really dubt they'll ever do Anything at all about it, other then telling us to buy BoT, like they did in the last event happening in urga with tons of high lvl mobs running around killing Everyone. thank god there was tons of AOEing people who found the spawn point at skill master and AOEd all the mobs constantly untill event was over. good exp for them while saving everyone else, so a win for all. but, um, well yeah, back on topic, lol... if you don't want to get killed so easily, go a bit futher up in the stairs, or or somewhere in the middle of the shops. it's less likely to get killed then.
anotehr thing i vote for, is that when vending, you should also recover HP/SP like when resting. it would help a lot, for may, in many cases, not just in urga.

I guess the guards were picked for decoration by the city. They don't really protect the city, but only LOOK like they're there to protect the city. The Eldy guards have the easiest job out of all of the guards, though. In Sand Hill, Uruga and Roumen you can bring monsters into the town. I remember in Roumen someone was trying to bring a slime to the port. I'm not sure why, but I found it hilarious when someone still killed the slime after the person pleaded to spare the slime's life.

Totally agreed. Honestly, I think when you have a shop set up you shouldn't take damage at all. That way you could go afk and not worry about getting killed by random event mobs or guild wars or anything.

Not taking damage while in vendor would also work. ^^ I am usually at the top of the stairs or a little bit away from them; I always make sure there is another shop further down on the stairs than I am by a considerable amount.

Not being able to be attacked in vendor mode... I would just kill or attack then go into vendor mode until left alone. Rinse and repeat, if that were the case.
As for being a vendor in Uruga, just dont be one. Its an "outpost" town meaning you don't have the same luxuries that Roumen and Elderine provide from such. Vending means taking the risk of dying.

lol i don't usually vendor but, can u rest while vendoring? like does it auto restore hp? If it does, the orcs shouldn't beable to kill too many people, cuz after a while they'll give up and walk away

As far i can remember trains in Uruga are really old issue and Outspark do practicly nothing to change this situation.
Its true that now some monsters are relocated but still there are couple Orcs spawn zones near stairs and many players tend to cut "drive" direct in the middle of those areas and of course drag "customers" to city.
Since last unanounced event in Uruga i read critical comments about vendoring there and comments in style like Sam_Tyler post make me very hostile because i see flashing in red light hint behind those words "BUY BoT from our store to prevent loosing XP".
And that is pathetic...

Err...I wouldn't see the point in attacking something then sitting in vendor, so having a no-dmg thing while in vendor doesn't seem to be abusable. There needs to be something done, though.

yeah they should tax u 1g for entering the town and an other 1g for leaving
[/sarcarsm]
well im for the restore HP during vendoring..it would help a lot of ppl
but against being invincible because its too much abusable...u should accept the risk for being afk

for sure, cuz if they made the invisible wall, an archer or mage could possibly just attack through the wall and kill the mobs without getting a scratch on em. That method would be super godly for aoeing by ur self...
