Yes, there is crafting. Certain materials earned from MINING can be used to strengthen your armor and weapons.

Herb Gathering can make you HP and MP potions, which can save you a lot of money.

You can also just directly use herbs as health gens

by useing some of the junk you get from herb gathering (wood chips)
and some of the stuff you get from mining (everything but eledust, elestones, and shovels)
you can make equips
by useing some of the stuff you get from herb gathering (most of what you get from herb gathering)
you can make potions
by useing some of the stuff that you get from mining (anything that starts with ele)
you can make elementainum (<- spell check) which can upgrade your armor

i think at first its so hard coz the probability rate is only upto 10% at lvl 3 i think, "am lvl 12 btw and bought all the upgrades of both upto the max level that i can" tried it 5 times phail >,< lols, glad it was just closed beta @_@ if it was open beta it would be a bummer >,< but then again got 1 diamond dew and 2 fire dews from herbing >,<
