Hmm... forward information to CSRs and let them interpret what is said as a serious enough offense, I definitely understood what was being said in Spanish, although you may need to request a multi lingual staff member to confirm what is said in spanish ie GM Snakeeyes habla espanol (Snakey speaks Spanish). Good luck.

Oh, he said, I have a .45 (a gun) do you want me to put it on your mouth?
I guess I'll just report anyway..

I never stop wondering why people take so serious everything what is spoken via Internet.
No matter if this are regular chats or MMOs.
If we will treat everything (even this situation) as true threat then soon or later we will become nothing more as paranoical beings...

I do not think it is a matter of 'threat' as rather a matter of respect.
If one cannot play the game as a game and it frustrates them to the level of saying such things, maybe another game would be better for them.

I think that verbal abuse is a serious thing. Be it person to person, by phone, or by internet. In my opinion it is harassment and a threat should never be taken too lightly. A woman was charged with murder of an mmorpg character...you'd be surprised how the law views internet harassment and things like it.

100% true.
Please dont get me wrong because i am not condone (and never will) such acting, but since i start using internet chats around beggining of 2000 i saw things posted by people witch this made such let us be honests empty threats just silly.
I hope that "Preventive Talk" whit GLs or GMs will do that person good and help him realize that there are borders witch should never been crossed and if you cross that line anyway expect to face consequences.
EDIT:mrs.angrnasungaaq i known this story and i must say that she was fine example of addiction till last pixel (so to speak) but even this case show that for many people border between digital world and real world simply disapear.
But this thread is no place for such discusion unless OP will let us carry on :).

Its not that he's taking it as a serious threat on his life but thats not something that you say either. Its a matter of respect as the poster above me said. If you allow a child to continue bad behavior unchecked you are giving tacit approval for the behavior, even if you don't like it by not doing anything about it you're saying its okay.
I know that not one person in my town would dare to speak to me in such a manner, the anonimity of the internet allows people to act in manners and in ways that they know are not acceptable because they 'won't get caught'. The ability to report on here is a small assurance that even online there are consequences for your actions.

Very true but like i say early i too dont aprove such behavior (and special hiding behind other as english language to cursing in hoope that attacked person will not take a hint what is going on) and DF should report him right after entire situation occured.
You are correct that many people think "OK now i will let the dogs of hate on the rampage because nobody will learn my true identity"..., and day later he is surprised when law authorites knocking to dor of his home a 6.00 am .
There is nothing less illusional thing as internet anonimity, this might be true between 1998/2000 but now authorites are able to track almost anybody who use internet.

While most threats via the internet are empty, we still must take them seriously.
There is always a chance of getting that one psycho who will try to track someone down and do physical harm. It's unlikely, but possible. So we take any threats made towards someone that could potentially do them harm very seriously.
But in regards to the initial post. Threats made towards someone's life, in any language, is reportable. I'm glad that you took the time to report this individual, and hopefully some attention by a CSR will put a stop to this behavior.

1) Report him for threatening to harm you irl
2) Report him for cursing in another language "Maldito Idiota"
They think no one else knows spanish -rolls eyes- tch. I had a guy pm me on the forums calling me that, and the GM I reported it too either knew what it was, or recognized it. It doesnt take a spanish major to know what that means, but I would guess most of them either have some licking in spanish or can recognize it, after all, their state IS connected to Mexico.
Report him!!!!!!! (or her), -.- Its one thing to call another person names, but to hide behind another language-- thats one thing that ticks me off REALLY BAD.

If i catch somebody that he/she will curse in my native language (no matter if i will be reason of such "attack" or someone else) i will report him without hesitation.
However i am not sure if i can report (never did by the way) somebody for inapropriet name created also in my language (right now this is only theoreticas speaking).
So i will be gratefull for any hint regard this matter for the future refference.

To quote you *things got worse and there was a trade of insults* the screenshot doesnt show this it merely picks one very small part of the conversation to show the other person at fault. I dont know how much data or which data Fiesta *backup* each day but somehow I think chat logs would be a very low priority. Assuming this at some stage all chat would be overwritten and lost.
It is a very simple process to have an arguement with someone, rile them up to boiling point with insults, then clean up your own chat and ss a small part of the conversation making someone else look bad.
From what I see this could well become the latest trend in how to get people you dislike banned.

I mostly told him to shut up and that I was informing the guild master. He's the one who swore and threatned me.
I didn't post a screenie with the rest of the convo because I knew it was reportable. On this case, I thought so, but I wasn't sure, so I created a thread about it..

Either way, he threatens your irl life. Regardless of who cursed at who (Im meaning, if you curse and he curse, then those cancel eachother out kinda). He is th eone threatening to come get you irl and do you harm.

DF, while he's probably not serious, I'd report it just to make sure he learns that that kind of language and behavior isn't tolerated here, or on the internet in general.

Yeah, we actually just learned about this in psych the other day, it's called positive reinforcement. (If he does this, he will receive a positive result [not getting in trouble, in this case.])
Definitely report this, and if you can, try and avoid all contact with him in the meantime, it can really only escalate :/

Hehe, I know, I am happy that he will get a surprise, he was saying, ''lol he's not going to report me'' or ''report me, i don't care'' :D

Mostly people in the guild didn't like him too, he's just in there because he is the guild master's brother I guess :P

The rule of thumb in the past regarding such issues is to simply "Block" the user. Out of sight, out of mind.
Now if this person continues to go around this block by making another character to continue at you with threats, then this will definitely be something to take action against.
However, given this is just the first reported offense from this person towards you, I would take the Block advice until they do say something towards you again.

Not at this time, but you can have them removed from the guild or leave the guild if they refuse to remove the offender in question.

Nei, I know I can just block him, I don't care if he is threatning me or swearing at me, what bothers me most is that he is breaking the ToS.

Though, I don't know if I can leave my friends gold that I took ages to make T.T
