Ok, another stupid question. How do I chat?

I can't seem to figure out how I actually type into the chat thing. Someone just told me how I use my magic attacks and I can't even say thanks! :(

Hit Enter. It will open your chat. To get out of chat, when there is nothing in the chat bar, hit Enter again, or just hit Esc.
