The abyss
What is abyss?
Abyss is a dungeon where you can get good drops like stone materials and green armors while getting more exp than the usual. However, to balance the abyss, it is a PvP map, so you can fight for mobs, rooms and exp, and fight another players.
Where is that so called, abyss?
To get in the abyss, you need to go Elderine (10-66) or Uruga (10-89), since I'll only talk about the 10-36 abyss, I will just identify that ones location. Okay first, after getting in Elderine, talk to the Guard under Item Merchant Nina's shop.
http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l446/okie_013/abyssguide1.jpg
After that, talk to the first guard of the right.
http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l446/okie_013/abyssguide2.jpg
Before entering abyss, you will see that window to confirm if you want to get in or not, and IF you press yes, you agree that you can PK and that you CAN be PK'd. You also agree that you won't create a thread on the forums complaining about getting killed. >.<

*Presses Yes*

Okay so now, you are in abyss right? I wouldn't recommending going here before you are level 20, because of the threats in the abyss that should be feared
Phino of abyss
http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l446/okie_013/abyssguide4.jpg
Phinos don't hit much, they will do 1's on pure END fighters with a +9 shield and when they are demoralized. They are the mobs that give the most exp in abyss though. They mostly drop scroll and stone mats.
Phinoflies of abyss
http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l446/okie_013/abyssguide5.jpg
They, like the phinos, do low damage, but even lower. I tested and they do damage, not magic damage, even though they are the only ranged monsters in this abyss. They also have lower def and hp, so to balance, they give lower exp. They drop mostly potion mats and learning scrolls including the rare t2 scrolls.
Best room
The room with the best experience and most mobs is the one around F8. (check the image under)
http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l446/okie_013/abyssguide13.jpg
Here you can also see the abyss rooms, (lightest = less exp, darkest = more exp)

From lightest to darkest:

Risks of being in abyss:
- You lose EXP when you get killed by a player
- You lose EXP when you get killed by mob, like on the other maps
- You lose scrolls when you die if you had any
- You will be warped to the Red Zone when you die
Where do I exactly get warped?
You get warped near the battle field guard when you die like on the picture.
http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l446/okie_013/abyssguide11.jpg
Is there anything that prevents me from getting killed over and over?
Yes, there is the idle state. Whenever you die and you move, there is a ''buff'' that prevents you from attacking and get attacked, it only lasts for 10 seconds, and it starts counting when you press move and are warped to the spawn point.
The idle state looks like this:
http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l446/okie_013/abyssguide12.jpg
Now I will review the advantages and disadvantages of being in the abyss:
Advantages:
- Awesome EXP, you level alot faster than grinding with normal mobs
- Awesome drops, ever since the 10/28 patch, every abysses except the 10-36 abyss have drop rate cut in half, and you can get things like, the rare T2 Production Scrolls
- You can get Kill Points by killing other players and maybe get in the leaderboards
Disadvantages
- You can get killed, and if you get spawn killed, the grinding that took you ages will be wasted
Now..in abyss, you are either a PKer/PvPer or a PvEr.
PK:
Advantages:
- You can get Kill Points, etc, and maybe get in the leaderboards..
- You can make friends with another PKers, and compare your strenghts with them
- Most PKers are strong, else they would just dump that live for PvE
- You will be able to know how to fight back in guild wars and in FBZs, and maybe even in abyss
- Some PKers have ''alliances'', it's the, ''I won't kill you if you don't kill me''
Disadvantages..
- You can get a bad reputation for killing players in abyss, because some consider it harassment
- Someone can be in a big guild and get them all to hate you and kill you whenever they see or even maybe war you
- You will get cussed at alot. I myself got 100 report screenshots on a day of PKing, before the KPs, leaderboards and exp loss after dying by a player.
- You will never level
- A Pker will always die, at least once, so you will lose exp. When I was level 36 at 99%, on my last PKing day, I lost 39% and took 1+ hour to get it back >.<
- You are wasting money. I wasted like 500s on PKing because of the stones and I regret it. I also wasted almost 500 T1 HP pots. A PvEr would only make profit because, yes they are wasting stones, but they make it up with the mats they get from the mobs.
- You will have no time to join KQs and you will never get your quests done
PvE
Advantages:
- You will get awesome exp and level fast
- You will get drops and gradually become richer than before
- You will keep your reputation
- You will get yourself guild buffs and guild rewards everytime you level if you are in an academy
- You can make friends in abyss by grinding with them and partying them, I made most of my friends while grinding
Disadvantages:
- You won't be as much experienced in guild wars, FBZs, and it may be hard for you to know how to fight back
- If you only grind in abyss, you won't be able to complete your quests and join the Kingdom quests
- You will have no alliances with the PKers unless you know them and they are your friends/guildies, etc
Well, I did have fun PKing, but being stuck at the same level and watching your friends getting to really high levels saddens me :/
I was 36 a month and a week ago, now I am the reverse.
Bad thing is that, sometimes I still get hate whispers, but I also get congratulation whispers..
Okay so, earlier I mentioned the red zone, and by red zone I meant this.
From red to yellow, most dangerous area to less dangerous area.
http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l446/okie_013/abyssguide6.jpg
The red zone is where the most PKing occurs, because some people farm kill points at the entrance...
The orange zone still has a bit of PKing, because it is near the red zone.
The yellow zone doesn't have as much as PKers as the other zone, maybe because it is a bit further.
How many EXP do I lost when I die?
Well, I thought of writting down how many exp you lose each level, so far I got only level 33 xD, hope any of you can tell me how many exp do you lose and at which level, also how many % is that exp.
Update: You don't lose exp under level 20.

Recommended items before going in abyss:
PvE:
Items you really need:
- T1 Aim scroll : Fighters, mages and clerics miss alot, especially axe fighters. Axe fighters would need t2 aim so they don't miss T.T
Not so needed but it doesn't hurt bringing:
- T1 Vit scroll
- T1 Def scrol
- T1 Eva scroll if you are an archer, then the PKers will miss more often
- T1 Speed scroll if you are an archer or a mage, so you can kite the PKers, until they eventually leave you alone
- An endure buff always helps.
PK:
Items you really need:
- T1 Vit, T1 Def scrolls and MAYBE T1 Eva scrolls for survival
- T1 Speed to get people that kite/run, etc
Not so needed but it doesn't hurt bringing:
- A buff
- T1 Aim scroll
What is not allowed in abyss?
Well, besides spamming gold sites (even though I never saw a bot there), KSing and Swearing in abyss is NOT allowed. There is no such thing as harassment in abyss, unless they are annoying you on normal chat, whisper, etc. So, even if you get killed 100 times, on shop or shroom and while a mob is attacking you, you can not report who PK'd you.
What can I do to stop getting spawn killed?
You can either:
- Ask the PKer nicely to let you go
- If he won't let you go, then you should leave abyss and contact a PKKer.
NOTE:If you swear or harass who killed you, you not only can get banned for swearing, but you will also make the PKers want to kill you more and more, and the PKKers won't help you on that case.
Where can I find a PKKer?
Well, borednl had the brilliant idea of creating a thread to gather people that can help players that get killed over and over.
