Hi,
I went to American Presidential History Quiz on Teva,I was able to participate.I answered to maybe 9 questions correctly and then Silkypico came with the idea that the quiz on Obama was too easy so he/she came with "random" questions like this one:
http://i43.tinypic.com/1z22c7n.jpg
Do you think it is fair?
The quiz must be on Obama or any other American Presidents
Thanks

Silky is a man. And true, it is a yes or no answer but the point is that the event is suppose to based solely on Presidents. It's sort of like going into take a yes/no test on Biology and after going through 10 questions the rest of them turn out to be questions on Quantum Physics.
Point being - Hold the event as it is in the description
Lol I dont think you have to make big deal from this xD don't you think?
I think it's a big deal lol, I'm sure the majority of people went there to win and was thinking the questions were on presidents. If they lose because the questions changed, then it is wasting their time.

People will complain about anything. -roll eyes-
4srsly, it's an event - be glad they host them at all. They are having fun, why does this have to be such a downer? Can't you have fun at all? I realize you want to win, but my god, you are over-reacting to such a trivial thing. @-@
Plus, events are subject to change whenever GM's want. Shown in the past, expect it.

Lol,
well I am thinking that the GM's are assessing that the participants of the quizz are very prepared and the time was maybe ticking down so they had to decide on a winner quick. So they decided to get creative with the questions.
It's unexpected to be asked a question you are not prepared for but some teachers do put in test questions that is not answered directly by the materials provided by a school's textbook and required some problem solving based on the materials you learned as opposed to just memorization. But worst case scenario since the answer is true or false format it's 50% you get a right or wrong. Trust me you had a lot fairer chance to win than those of us who participated in voter decided contests, where Outspark does not enforce poll accuracy as much as they should have.
Off topic note GM SnakeEyes favorite food is fried chicken and there is a good chance he would have it for lunch or not, but I doubt even if you knew that fact the answer would be true because... even I would get tired of eating my favorite food every day ^^.

I have read all your posts, thank you for replying.
Silky,it is true everyone was getting good answers, next you could have asked some harder questions, because it says on the event calendar that it will be about American Presidential History,so you could have asked some things about George Washington and any other presidents than just about Obama.
I know we have 50/50 chance of answering,I participated in the War Quiz and i was guessing when i didn't knew, but the questions were still on war,not on any personnal informations about the Outspark Staff.
There may also be another problem helping everyone to win,it's everyone who didn't participate giving out answers.Maybe you could teleport the players that joined on another map, this would be good because the other players won't give answers.

Oh man, that's crazy. Why in the world would somebody ask a random question like that in an event for a video game in which dozens of people are getting every answer right?
I'm sure while running an event on Fiesta, having to keep track of everybody answering, while getting whispered with requests for money, items, and levels...Silky has all the time in the world to go to Wikipedia and look up some little known factoid about a president when the established question are too easy.
Or, so that a winner could be determined, Silky could just think up an off-the-wall question.
Either way, how much does it affect your life that you win or lose an event in a video game? There's so much more to worry about and raise a stink over:
-the economy
-school
-getting a job
-genocide in Sudan
-oil drilling in animal sanctuaries

The issue with presidential based quizz questions you can find off search engines in the internet is that, well if even given a few seconds a player little knowledge on US presidents will find the answer also using window mode.
Or mimic answers of the people you know are very well versed in US history. If I recall on all GM sponsored events where the time is running out and you have multiple remaining contestants then its time for sudden death! I recall a GM popping multiple KQ bosses on the PVP event going on in the summer olympics because after nearly one hour the majority of the teams are still alive due to use of cash shop pots. So yea it's with these contests its easy at the beginning until the end then it gets really hard cause you can not prepared for their GM randomness since their bosses probably scheduled GMs to do out of game work once their time is up in game.

Yes it's true other players may have time to go on Wikipedia or Google, but maybe GMs could find the questions before starting the event, and so it will go maybe faster and less players will be answering correctly

I think it ought to be random questions on random topics that aren't announced before the event. That would be fair so that no one would go in "prepared" by digging around google or wikipedia or wherever. Perhaps a time limit should be set, like 15 seconds, so that only people that KNOW the answer can actually pass through.

Lesson 1, reasonable questions/comments are seen as criticism in the world of Fiesta, and especially its forums.
Lesson 2, Outspark is never wrong.

Ok,i looked a little bit on the event calendar, and it is always written in red that the location and time can subject to changes,so if they could also write something like "Any questions can be asked when all other questions have been asked to decide who will win when there are too much players left in the field."
I think it would be better for everyone.

He doesn't have to keep track of everyone's answers at all, those who move into the wrong zone get warped out for picking the incorrect answer. Besides, this event has rules and descriptions of what to expect at the event, as a staff, they should have more consideration for the player and actually abide by the rules and descriptions of their own event.
This just reminds me of the Ask a Ninja event, where all of the participants of the event were stuck on one side and could not go to the other side. Everyone shouted that they were stuck on one side but silky didn't seem to care lol, and the time ran out and everyone loss. How fair is that?
And too be honest, it doesn't affect my life or anyone else's life a great deal, but the main point here is that it is wasting our personal time. We could have gone and done something else like grind or do something more interesting than coming to get screwed over.
Don't get me wrong, I personally don't care about these events and sometimes how we get screwed, that's life, I'm simply just trying to point out the other side of the story.

Just as the players are prepared for these events so the GM's should be. To claim they dont have time mid game to search for more questions shows they were ill prepared in the first place. However in the GM's defense I will also say it would be very difficult to choose questions that would be reasonably fair to such a wide age group.

reminder to fiesta community: you did not pay anything to go to the event, or were garenteed a prize.
besides that there is a 15 second limit, and i have managed to google stuff that fast.
also GMs: ya might be a good idea to come with some questions prepared.
players: you guys just basically turned a sepose to be funny moment, into something to be regreted >.<, i for once think it's a good question what did he eat for lunch?

Sorry that you feel that my "random" question didn't fit your needs.
The OX Quiz Field is fairly straight forward, you only have a 50/50 Chance of answering the question correctly.
Questions come to narrow down anywhere from 0-3 players left on the field.
After that, prize is distributed.
You're lucky you even got a chance to participate. Out of 173 people in the OX Field, only 75 people got a chance to even play.
Out of those 75 people, 3 people won.
I restarted the round and you are FREE to enter the next round and answer the questions correctly.
Fact is, you cannot get upset that you answered a question incorrectly. That was that 5th question or so out of 12.
If you got that question correct, this thread wouldn't exist.
Everyone played fairly. I even asked "How about a RANDOM QUESTION", 50 people said Yes, 25 people said No.
Majority ruled, and I threw out a random "Chicken" question to eliminate players because after 5 rounds (which 0 people were eliminated).
I cannot give out 75 Tiger Raccoons (15 Days).

IMO should have come up with harder questions. Though since the group said random question was fine, nothing I can say about that. Though asking something only you would know is a little unfair, but everyone agreed so it's their fault =/.

But you're right. I got the answers from the internet. Anyone using the internet could have easily gotten every answer correct.
In other quizzes (Apoline, best cooperative server) I ran out of Obama questions and went into Joe Biden, John McCain, and Sarah Palin.
The less time it takes to conduct 1 round of Quizzes, the more we can fit into a 60 min time span.
Some servers had 1, some 2, and some 3.

Hyperbole is a forte, along with drama, here.
Within the course of twenty months, I have seen hundreds of threads complaining about every mishap, about overpricing, about imbalances, about lack of content, or whatever. Then you have the hate threads.
That is why I suggest uninstallation. Because, like I said, 90% of the complainers who think the game is "horrible" end up logging on the next day anyways. The cycle continues.

Unless the forums are used not at all for the consumers to be heard by the provider, then there is no problem.
People complain all the time, it can evoke change or provide venting. There may always be complaints, but hopefully something occurs as a result of it.
I've seen many threads as well where reasonable requests/questions get instantly slammed by the forum legends, trollers, and off topic police.
I made two remarks, one about the community of fiesta, especially the forum, and the second about Outspark being infallible. Neither of these two impact my game play to the extent where I would uninstall it.
Hyperbole's are easy fails on forums.
---
After reading Silky's posts about majority ruling infavor of the question. I don't think the question was unreasonable. However, I do think in the future, if an event is planned, ithat time willing - devote more time to exigent circumstances.
