I would first like to let you all know that this is my own personal fan-fic, not a part Isya's actual history (unless, of course, Outspark decides to make it so :D).

When Bijou was conquered and destroyed, he fragmented into crystals that were scattered across all of Isya. The gods watched as the crystals continued to create and build Isya, and they were filled with malice and anger. They decided to gather the crystals and created monsters of great destructive power. However, they failed to realize that the vast majority of Bijou's crystals were not to be found in the land, but rather in its people, the elves and the humans. The people, having unknowingly received the crystals, were imbued with great creativity and imagination, as well as enhancing the most prominent attributes in them.

In humans, the crystals enhanced physical attributes and abilities, as well as providing creativity. Humans, being the more physical of the two races, devised new skills, weapons, and armor which enhanced their own physical attributes on top of the crystals‘ power. These new devices enabled them to grow even stronger and more durable, and they became able to endure harsh physical strain from the monsters the gods had newly created.

The elves, however, were not as physical as the humans, preferring mental prowess to brawn and strength. The crystals enhanced this feature in them, and they created spells and poisons to weaken their enemies before the enemies were given a chance to strike.

The two superior races now had everything that they needed to fight the destructive gods and their forces. The gods realized that if the races continued to grow at their current rate, then the races would quickly become too powerful for them to destroy. The gods who were against Teva worked together and came up with a plan. They decided to use the Bijou crystals to create a place which would balk the growing races. Thus, the Shadow-Dungeon was created.

Using the crystals that the gods possessed, they created a place that would create a copy of any person that entered into it. Once the dungeon was formed, each god did their part. Anis infused his power with the dungeon, causing the clone to have enhanced power. Nik and Markis also infused their powers, which made any clone dark and evil, with the intent of destroying it’s original. Apoline used her power of desire to entice the people to enter the newly created dungeon. Pagel promised a rich reward for any that could defeat the enemy inside. Then, they all formed a barrier which separated each individual from his or her comrades upon entering.

When each of the enemy gods infused their powers with the Bijou crystals, the crystals inside the people were affected though the connection between each crystal to the others. The crystals inside the people were greatly weakened by the combined efforts of the enemy gods. The people, over-confident in their new abilities and enticed by Apoline and Pagel, decided that they would storm the new area. Little did they know what was inside.

As everyone entered, the first thing that each noticed was that they were alone. The second thing they noticed was a dark replica of themselves being formed. Each person felt confident that he or she could fight alone, so they began the battle with the replica. It was the last thing that many of them ever fought.

The ones who were lucky enough to escape knew that the foe inside was to great to fight alone, but also knew that no one else would be with them if they returned. They decided to seal the dungeon with a gate that could only be open by a special key which they dubbed the “Shadow Key,” named after the shadow which they had fought. What the people did not know was that, by sealing the dungeon, they would not continue to grow in their new abilities, because they had been stunted by the enemy gods.

When the Gods saw the effect of their newest creation, they leapt at the chance to destroy the people. Each and every one went to work. Apoline, with her powers of desire, caused the people to want to become the highest ranking person among the races. Pagel caused each one to have dreams of the fame and glory that they would have if the reached the top. Markis destroyed the relationship between the humans and the elves. Nik darkened the hearts of the races and moved them to war.

While the gods affected the people, the people prepared for the upcoming battle for racial supremacy. They used the remaining creativity within themselves to create various items of enhancement. Potions were formed to keep themselves alive during the war. Scrolls enhanced the attributes of the warriors. Stones were formed from dust, and were used to enhance the weaponry and armor for both races. It seemed as though the gods had won when they convinced the people that the other race wanted to conquer them. By the time Teva realized what was happening, she only had enough time to protect two people.

Teva prevented the corruption of the enemy gods form reaching a man named Roumen, and an elf named Elderine. Roumen, a young warrior human, knew that if the humans fought the elves, both sides would destroy each other, and no one would be left alive. He searched for someone else that knew this dark truth. Elderine, an elf woman trained for archery, also knew that both sides would lose the battle. When Roumen and Elderine came into contact, they began to form a plan which, they hoped, would prevent the war.

The plan was this: defeat the Shadow-Dungeon. Elderine realized that every new item created for war could be used against the replica inside the dungeon. So Roumen and Elderine collected potions and scrolls and enhanced their equipment with the stones. They then set out to defeat their dark clones. They knew that if the clone was an exact copy, however, then it too would be enhanced again by the items, but, to save their people, decided to brave the dark arena.

Upon entering, both were alone. When the replicas started to form, they both used the enhancement scrolls and were more powerful. As the shadows finish completion, so did the two brave warriors. The battle between copy and original had begun.

Roumen crossed his enhanced blade with the blade of his foe…which was not enhanced! He also noticed that while he was using potions to keep himself alive, his shadow did not carry them. With renewed effort, he began to slowly conquer his enemy. Elderine, with her skills as an archer, fired the first shot and struck with her enhanced arrows. When she was fired upon, however, the arrows were not any stronger than ordinary arrows. She conquered her shadow, just as Roumen did: slowly, but surely. The enemy self was no longer too great for a person to defeat.

Once they returned victorious from the dungeon, they discovered a newfound strength and greater creativity. The immediately returned to their towns and told of their journey through the dungeon. They told of how they used the items created for war, and the result of their victory. The people were astonished at the stories. One by one they went to the Shadow-Dungeon, and one by one, they returned with the same result: victory against their darkness enhanced foes.

The people rejoiced and praised Teva for giving them hope though Roumen and Elderine. Once each had conquered the Shadow-Dungeon, they used their restored imagination to construct new weapons and armor, devise new skills, and create more powerful potions, scrolls, and enhancement stones in order to fight off the threat of the enemy gods and their minions.

Today, the Shadow-Dungeon is seen as a right of passage for young humans and elves. When they reach the point where they are stunted, they brave the dungeon and, once they emerge victorious, join the many before them who have fought, conquered, and emerged stronger than ever before.

It's an interesting thing to think about, even if it is strange. I'm just putting in my two cents for how Isya might have been created.
