Hey all, this thread is simply a proposition of ideas to ease, if not solve the current prices of Xen stones in our market..I also put forward an idea of alternative ways of trading, which may be more efficient. This was a quick thought that I came up with, so I would appreciate some feedback. Constructive criticism, no flaming please.;) Price cap of the most valued traded items. What this means, is that valued items (like Xen stones and AP gears.) are capped at a max price. You may be wondering why its not a min to max price range. The reason for this is being, you will be unable to give gifts to friends, or loan items if this was in place..which will pose as a problem and hassle for some. Also it still allows for market fluctuation, without it developing to an excalating problem. This may not solve the problem of the excess kron on the market, but in any game certain groups of players always hold vast amounts of money compared to the wider majority or collective, if you like. Most of you who read this far, will be thinking. I'm drop dependent, my reply to that is. A stable economy is better in the long run then merchanting a few items for some extra kron. Also, Xens at affordable prices does everyone a favour. I'd also expect in the process of the price capping (not for all items mind you) for player feedback to play a major role. So items don't drop to a ridiculously low amount. So all you players out there don't go broke!! :DD In terms of trade, many of you are probably sick of hunting around for items, or lurking endlessy on the forums for certain items, or pets. How about a trading post? Look under the catogorised lists of items available(in game obviously)..and if a item within your price range is available, you will be able to instantanly buy. The items being sold on the trading post will be catogorised under gears, quest items, pets, potions etc etc. so more user friendly interfaces. ^_^ I'll explain the process if you are selling goods. Highlight the item of your choice in your inventory. State your price(In krons) and leave the offer in the trading the post. What this means, it does away with player owned shops/stalls, and lets you become more efficient.. so you as the player can get back to grinding/questing.. or whatever you were doing before. ^^ As a side note, this is an optional way of trading..so it still keeps the game elements players have come to know and be comfortable with. (Edit) sorry its bunched together, wasn't sure how to do this properly. :(

So basically you want to disable all trades except shops and put a price cap on things. So what would stop me from sell (just an example) say 6 xen for 1 kron provided that person sold me a +5 6ap helm for 1 kron? Price capping doesn't fix things, it just encourages people to barter rather than sell. And there is always a way around things. Also disabling trading will upset a lot of people. You couldn't loan or give gifts. If I needed something out of guild storage and didn't have access someone would have to get it out and vend it to me. If you are on a map and someone needs a tracker or scroll you would have to vend it, or maybe just drop it. The developer has expressed an interest in xen prices, so maybe they are looking into ways to fix it. I was originally against the idea, but I have about decided that an npc shop selling xens might be the way to go. That would fix the prices and flood the market with them. And it would do it in a way that would let everyone have access. Also, I believe an ingame auction system is one of the updates we have been told is coming.

Thanks for your constructive advice, thought of it randomly on the spot. So decided to throw it out there (as flawed as it may be :P ) to hopefully start a decent topic/debate, in which good solid ideas may be thought of.
