What's with the Secrecy about Maintenance?

Anybody know why we never get a heads up about what they fix/add before the close the servers for maintenance?

because for 1 to stop exploits, for 2 to fix bugs that people dont even kow about them, for 3 because they do tell us the major fixes and thats all they should tell us

In another game the GM says that they'll post patch notes when they receive it. So it's possible that they don't know what's in the patch yet either. -shrug- But this week's maintenance is an hour (unless it was a typo) so... don't expect anything new.

Didn't just start today, just get used to it. I gave up trying to ask.

I think he just wants to know why general info isn't posted about maintenance till after its closed, can't blame him for askin. Most games I've played give you a lil 411 before, just seems odd they wait till its started is all.

Because as we've seen in the past, things don't always end up fixed when they say they're getting fixed. Things go wrong, sometimes problems end up worse even. And you really don't want to give people ideas when it comes to exploits.

if they only told us what was done 2 minutes before the server came back online, it would still be before any of it is of any use, so it doesn't really matter.

personally - i'd rather they work on things, than take the time to put together pretty posts about what they plan on doing each day.

Sometimes...most of the times actually...maintainences are longer than they tell us. I wonder if they can tell us 2 hours, when they actually really think it's only going to be 1 hour. This way, we'll be like Woo~ That wasn't so bad~

Umm for me, I've had a person just randomly there...like I wasn't even in a party and then *poof* someones there. Or when someone asked me to pt them, but I was asking someone else...then the person I asked gets with the people that asked me...I hope that made sense xD

Well, a wise shopper would have bought a ton of 30 day mounts if we had known in advance they were going to remove them. That would be exploiting in a sense. :)

they announced the change, but then silky didn't change the page until 2 hours into the maint, so we had a chance to stock up

The 30/7 day mounts were removed, yes. Along with the permanent costumes, ears, etc., that was also there. (Most of it)

Now I don't relaly care about the permanent costumes, in my opinion, they're a waste. But if you want a 30 day mount, just be patient. Think about it. They're just putting permanent mounts, literally forcing you to get a perm. mount even if you wanted a 30 day one. Not only that, you have to feed it.



I think they'll bring back the 30 day mounts. I mean if they don't, I'm pretty sure they know quite well they will get many complaints v.v

All mounts will return... whit small addition of word "permanent" before name of mover.
Since Rhino and Dragon movers are back whit this add i can more as sure say that rest will follow in this same pattern.

did it really matter that we didn't get a heads up on that?
not like it was a super important piece of information that changed lives for the starving millions of the world - it was just a fancy graphic added for crits, which took about 8 seconds to find out about when you attacked a monster.

Hardly anyone reads the patch notes anyway, even in the threads that have the patch notes as the first post, people STILL ask what's happening and how long maintenance is and "on my god, is it maintenance tonight, cause i like never noticed it's at the EXACT same time EVERY week for the last year i've been playing".

They give you as much information as you need, and we should be happy we get any patch notes at all, cause really, they don't have to tell us anything.

Silly little changes, or attempts at bug fixes where they aren't sure how they work or affect other things aren't really all that important, what is everyone's problem with it?

But, i'm sure if they post ALL the patch notes, you'd all find something to complain about about that anyway, cause that's all people do here, complain - see,i'm comlaining right now!
