yeah it can get quite boring if you try to solo >.> takes forever to kill 60+ mobs as a cleric solo , parties I find quite entertaining still though especially squishy full ones that like to draw agro away from tanks so I have to frantically heal/invinc/and do everything I can to keep them all alive =p

there are alot of high lvl clerics around, i see them all over the place, especially in uruga. the lvl8X clerics are just stuck in br doing repeats...that is all...i don't plan to quit my cleric anytime soon ^^;; still loving it.

Yea i quit my cleric a long time ago i decided to do it after i bought myself a +9 lvl 60 hammer and went to DoA thinking i could kill pretty well. Took me 7 minutes fighting 3 npc clerics at the same time before i said screw it left abyss and sold my hammer and started a fighter and a mage

I quit my Cleric as soon as I hit 60 as well; got my +9 shield, mace and scuttled off to the new Abyss and BAM!, boredom hit like a truck. I had *fun* levelling up to 60, mostly... but after that it wasn't worth it to me anymore.

So I rerolled an Archer. =P

Yup got my cleric to 67 I have to grind the nxt 2.6 million points. So instead of playing im just avoid playing with him. I agree parties are fun but soloing is slooooooow so i made other characters and started wit em XD. Hell get to 68 one day just not today =P.

Well if you see people you help as newbie in other class actually pass you and now in level above you and capped. Yes it is very boring and really want to quit.

You already seeing average other class vs cleric as 2:1 ratio around uruga. Well if we up cap again soon will be 4:1 ratio.

I should have made my alt in my other account, I have a feeling my mage will pass my cleric at some point, probably next cap. If not in the same account I should be able to just level myslef.

Well, I'm still having fun, but I'm pure str so can kill pretty reasonably.

I have a 76 Paladin on Teva, a 33 cleric on Teva (alt account) and I just started a new cleric on Apoline.

Every once in a while, no matter what class I'm playing, I get bored. A quick jump for a few days to another class or a lower character makes me miss my cleric...so I end up going back. Boredom's gonna strike high levels no matter what...

I beleive there is one class you really love to play on game sites and for me it is cleric. I currently have lvl 89, lvl 87, lvl 75 and lvl 40 clerics on the go. All my alt clerics are built as full STR clerics and they are to fund my main full END cleric Jadestar. Obviously with so many clerics I dont get bored with the class.

Eh. I really don't like my cleric at all, but I continue to play as I've gotten so far. But, yes, I am awfully bored of it at times. I'm a DD cleric, so I can actually smack stuff around, so, that helps me not get so tired of it that I quit; but just sitting there hitting 3,5, 8 (Heal, Restone, Rejuv) kinda gets more then a little boring when you've gotten to where I am. ^^; I won't quit, but let's just say there's times when I'll put someone on follow, and watch everyone's health at the side of my screen while doing something else on the other side. xD Take note of that anyone that asks me to heal for them. :P

I love my Cleric and could never get bored. When I play normal RPG's (non MMO's) I spend days on end just grinding to max out skills. I find it therapeutic. I'm sorry to say and don't mean any disrespect to people who have retired their Cleric but maybe they just weren't cut out to be a Cleric in the first place.

I had a level 50 cleric on Teva, then created a new cleric on Epith when it opened. After playing through the high 60s I quit... for about 5 months. When I came back before xmas I was having fun again. I'm not sure it is the character class as much as the game. The game fundamentals are not that interesting--Quests are go out and kill stuff and come back. The interaction with playes are what adds the zest.
I've known a lot of players--most not clerics who got tired and quit, switched char. type, etc.

lol yea..clerics do get boring at some of the 60+ lvls. I kept getting bored of my cleric in 60 and below and same as 60+. But now there's two motives driving me to lvl my cleric:
1. i want to catch up to my guild mates.
2. i dont want to do those boring quests that ive already done on my alts.

I'm lvl 89 cleric and i still play my cleric everyday, when you are cap, you can do many, like helping ppl, go to farm items, or blue. Only newbie cleric quits their cleric cuz they dont know how to play and how to be a cleric.

I loved the 60s and 70s with my cleric. It was a blast being challenged to keep my insane, overzealous party/duo alive. And I did party with people who didn't care about their limitations. When I hit 80 and BR things got ... less exciting. I joined an amazing guild with wonderful people, but they were all fully +9-ed with maxed End gears. They didn't take any damage in BR! Dx My job was reduced to: hop on follow, cast Invigorate (lvl 79 AoE regen).... cast Invigorate..... cast Invigorate.... restone SP.... cast Invigorate... Pass out at keyboard.

Things were slightly more exciting when I got Awaken at 85 and then fought my party for aggro, but still, it was mind-numbing.

I took a break and got a fighter to 85 and an archer to 61. But now that my cleric has the same quests as my duo partner, I'll pick her back up.

If you're a solo cleric, it's a LOT harder. When you are given a poor base damage and you need to kill 3 trillion mobs to level, it's aggravating.

P.S. Thank goodness for Dragon's Tomb and a challenge for my clericing.

I lost some cleric friends on the way to lvl 8x. From the ones I met when I was begining I am the only one left. However, I know some high lvl clerics and they are around everyday. High lvl clerics are not very found of walking around in crowded places, otherwise beggars will surround him with "buff pls".

As a solo cleric, I am used to do quests alone and stay silent for long hours. However, thanks to my gf, my life as a cleric never gets boring.

I agree with most of the above.

Grinding in TR for most of lvl 75 was mind numbing to solo but fun when other people needed a healer.

Looks like most of level 76 is going to be a grind too so will be offering my services to parties.

I've made 1 of each type on Epith and I do still like my Paladin but nice to have the option of something different as a break.

The things that keep me going
1. Annoying people in PvP when they cant manage to kill me
2. Random KQ's to distract from annoying quests
3. My 86 warrior friend saying I wont make it to 85

Not quitting in the near future...

I can't get use to playing other class without my Heal spell =p

Whenever i tried to play other class and need to replenish HP, i would hit the key for Heal
which obviously is not there...the restone/pots timing is going soooooo slowwwwww...

I am a patient person and i can take it slow to kill the mobs as long as i stays alive with my Heals and of cause, no one ks me in the process of that. ^^

I didn't quit my cleric per say because she still has a pretty big spot in my heart. However these days i am diverting the majority of my attention to my mage. Why? Because from lv1-60 most of the quests are duoable soloing, past lv60 most of the quests require party. The problem is? Healing is boring after an hour or so. Its like a lullaby for me XD So perhaps once my mage hits lv60 i will start training my cleric again, perhaps by then i'll have gotten my healing will back again ^^

I have a lvl 50 cleric and I play her about 1/5 of the time that I play my new mage simply because yes, it is boring. there are so few quests at this lvl. I've finished all the quests for my lvl and I still need 50% more exp to lvl. So yes, I did stop playing her as often.

Find a mage who doesn't know his/her limits. Let him/her tank. Take on a room in the 6x Abyss. That should keep you entertained for a bit. ^^

Though I am slightly absent or not active in fiesta now, but I do not think you will hear me quit my clerics. It's pure fun with being a cleric, solo or party or duo(so long as I do not meet Heal-slave expecters).

Maybe it takes some time to level a cleric at 60-80, and for people who doesnt have the time like myself(prob 1-3hours a day) will not want to party anyone, thus might take a longer time, and eventually get bored, like myself.

Well I cant speak for others, but to me, Ill still call my cleric my main no matter how many other alternate clerics i made or other classes I made. Those alternates are just to pass time, but my main cleric is still the one Ill level whenever I have the time

Mages+Archers = kill opps quickly B4 it reaches them
Fighters = have fun every kill, and do not notice they've levelled
Clerics: Outlast their opponent.

so I guess pretty boring without a party.

Cap raise or not, if a player's quit out of boredom, they've quit. And most players I know that have quit their clerics either didn't get to cap with their cleric or capped and then started another toon, forgetting their cleric, so I'm not sure if the cap raise would affect those who've left their healer.

they quit cause they realize classes are not balanced and the cash shop is all OS cares about.

Well my only complaint is the BK axe that haunts my dreams, i can survive mostly everyone and anything else. my other complaint is how my life armor doesn't give its set bonus.

So something like the BK axe remains untouched while I gain 200hp and suddenly the set is nerfed (which in reality means your endure bonus=gone)

I'm very fond of my cleric, and I'm certainly not quitting, but I've had to resign myself to being one of the slowest levellers on Apoline.

Soloing is actually pretty peaceful -- until I check the exp. gauge and realize how little I've accomplished. I'm a patient guy, but even I have limits. I wouldn't mind a few hours of admittedly monotous grinding if I had something worthwhile to show for it at the end of the day, but I don't. As it stands now, I can only stomach doing a percent or two a day (if I have enough motivation to leave town and grind at all). Obviously, this isn't exactly to get me capped anytime soon.

"Then party," you say. "Join a TR party or someting, you stupid party-based cleric." That's all very well, but parties are hit-or-miss, with an emphasis on "miss": occasionally everyone really knows what they're doing and we have a nice time, but more often than not, I end up feeling like I'm babysitting a bunch of squealing children. (Of course, given their real-life ages, I probably am. ;))

Bonthra
04-20-2009, 10:46 PM
I think the point to clerics being low damage dealers and mages have crud for stones and fighters getting mock and archers having Nature's Protection is because we're meant to fiesta, erm, party to level. Soloing is, I think, a designed suck (that is, meant to be lame to force one to party).

ahtai
04-20-2009, 11:03 PM
"Then party," you say. "Join a TR party or someting, you stupid party-based cleric."

Well actually when party in TR it is a 5 cleric party. :( The mob is high evation but not hard hit so nobody want a cleric. I cough up some money to get exp boost and charm to finally cap mine. I am a patient person in real life but there is limit too.

Im sick of BR repeats... I cant kill anything (2:1 END/SPR with no str on my gear) because when I 'do' hit mobs its only for like... 30 dmg... Im sick of looking for nonexistent parties.
It kinda sucks to be a cleric after 7x, unless you find good parties and enjoy healing others

And here we have the vicious circle: Parties are necessary if you want to advance, but, at least in my experience, finding good parties is hard. I'd rather solo slowly than party with idiots who ride all over the map, pull far more than they can handle, expect me to be some kind of miracle worker (instead of a cleric who also has cool downs), whine for drops, and generally make puerile nuisances of themselves.

I wouldn't be surprised.
While yes, clerics can survive a hit from pretty much anything once we're about level 50...we can't kill anything. But I'm sure most of the 'quitters' just switch classes.

Indeed, though, it's a pain to find any good parties lately. >.>

I’m going to repeat, on purpose, what several other players said:
I am a patient guy, but I have a limit;
Heal, heal, stone, heal, heal, stone (so exciting…);
Soloing: takes forever, and I have a real life to live;
Party: its very difficult to find a good pt (and still is boring, hard to talk while fighting);
Classes are not balanced at high Levels: no one needs cleric; they can do everything fast, solo or pt with other non clerics.

I stayed on game and capped my cleric to 89 mainly because of my Guild (Minerva) and some friends I made on the way, but it was getting more and more boring as time and levels were passing…

The final blow (goodbye Fiesta): some months ago I bought a Helga’s Mace (L91) with amazing specs for an ENOURMOUS HIGH AMOUNT of game money, hopping that finally I was going to be able to solo like everyone else, after cap raise. You all know what happened to Helga’s weapon’s after 22nd April, right? Outspark allowed players to trade those weapons for very high values (but adequate to the specs they had at the time), and now they’re down to almost a normal weapon, don’t even have any stats. Comes to my mind the constant announcements against scammers, from the SCAMoutsparkMERS themselves…

I don’t play any other characters (only have for storage/production purpose)
So, I think this is goodbye…

Bonthra

Comes to my mind the constant announcements against scammers, from the SCAMoutsparkMERS themselves…

First, judging from Silkypico's post, it's possible the base stats will be changed again. That being said, I'll press on.

Allow me to play what some may consider "Devil's Advocate" here and explain why OutSpark may have chosen to nerf the Helgaits.

As an avid forum reader I have seen far, far too many posts of people complaining about the Helgait stats (just the base stats, not the later ones that had added stats, though there were a few threads about that). OutSpark was forced to make a decision regarding the Helgaits. A decision that they felt would benefit the community, as well as appease some of the unhappy customers (players).

The players and guilds that successfully raided Helga and raided frequently received a large amount of "bad press" in the forums and several of the guilds on different servers were reported for several ToS and general game rules violations. In order to keep balance and general player satisfaction up, OutSpark felt they needed to do something about the stats of these weapons.

Since the majority of players will NOT have a Helgait, it's understandable why some are upset they have such high damage/def. It has been said Helgaits would kill PvP from 91+, not to mention the Free Battle Zones. OutSpark understandably had the Helgaits' stats nerfed to keep the majority of their customers happy.

As Abraham Lincoln said, "You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time." This is one of those instances.

hugop
04-22-2009, 04:10 PM
Bonthra, ty for your input, I also (usually) like to be the “Devil’s Advocate”. Like I said, I don’t play other characters; I also don’t come to forum very often; the free time I have is to play (doing quests and doing money to get good equips). If what you say is true, it is not the first time this type of things happen.

So, that brings me to main point of my complaint (sorry I’m getting away from topic, buts its cleric related and have to do with disappointment on game): shouldn’t Outspark be aware of the problem by now? Why do they repeat the same mistakes? I mean, I had no idea it happened before, but if a normal (probably only more experienced then me) player like you knows this kind of situation, don’t Outspark staff have more obligation of not doing these mistakes?

If problem is unbalanced equips, don’t create it just to remove it latter.

If the problem is some having money and others not, it’s the same as in real life, and easy to solve: remove money from game, let ppl get what they need from rewards, and end trade inside game; but allowing game to have all these and then listen to the complaints of those who don’t have the money for good equips couz they don’t take the time to make money (like many players I know), doesn’t make sense.

I just wanted a good weapon to be able to solo. If the problem is unbalanced PvP, just create a way to prevent unbalanced equips to be used at PvP area; if they are able to prevent us from warping out of Abyss or KQ, if they create reserved areas with level limit, if they prevent us from equip / unequip when “mushed”, is that so difficult to prevent some equips to enter / be used at PvP? Or to be trade at all?

1. Always check the date of the last post on a thread. If it's more than 2 weeks old, it's considered a dead thread and posting is generally viewed as "necroing" and bad.

takes forever to kill 60+ mobs as a cleric solo.

Ehhh not so sure about this... I have 27 SPR 20 DEX 30 END, with Demon Set and NightMare costume, and i kill just as fast as some archers 4 - 5 levels higher than me.. +0 equiptment for me, not sure about them.. (this is tested in 70 abyss). My crits are what make my attack without my crits yes it is dull and very slow, but add the crits and BOOM you have a near sword/shield fighter with heals :)

Parties I find quite entertaining still though especially squishy full ones that like to draw agro away from tanks so I have to frantically heal/invinc/and do everything I can to keep them all alive =p

I agree with this, This statement right here makes or breaks a cleric.. If you can keep a squishy party healed atleast up to half health in 60 abyss with more than 40 mobs on you. Thats where it gets exciteing. LoL

Btw dont mind quote, your post just stuck out, im not trying to target you really, just seemed to cover everyone elses post in 1.. LOL

I think its time for me to speak up. Cleric is used to be boring but not anymore after the patch which upgrade the trip and bleed damage.

I stop my cleric before when i hit 75 but now i have resume my cleric lvling.

Many cleric quitted?Thts absolutely not true. I see many cleric playing at lvl90+ kq.

Me,Goway,HealMyHeart,Mystz,Redd_Slaya,BJk_TR,Thaan a,StarShinning,KevinP to name some of them. Sometime 90+ kq is full of cleric more than fighter n archer. Mage is also alot of them.

I can solo with my +9 hammer easily with good critical.(remember to put spr25,it do helping u)
