View Full Version : The petition for permanent item shop clothing.

I know Outspark's games are usually fixed with fashion items that last a certain amount of time, but for Windslayer, we should do this a little bit differently.

Permanent clothing would attract plenty of people to spend money in the cash shop. Just look at Latale, I've spent over 100 dollars in that game on permanent clothing, EXP gems, etc. Flyff, which will always have a thriving item shop economy. Trickster, everyone loves their fair and beautiful cash shop. People want to stay stylish forever, and paying for a temporary item won't make that so. If I'm buying something for a game, I want it to stick on my character whenever. A way for Outspark to make plenty of cash would be to release cash shop clothing items in sets, similar to Latale. Imagine it like this:

Ooh, a ninja costume! I'll buy that now! good thing it's permanent.

1 week later.

OMG, A NEW FOOTBALL COSTUME! I'll buy that too!

etc.

If you agree with this, please place the words *sign* in a post blow. Feel free to post comments too.

Do you get pets from cashop?

perfect idea and i saw latale and yeah people would want to by more if it last forever because alot of people(from past games iv played) wouldn't buy from cash shop even thought they had the money because they where like its not worth the 3months only and what if something random happens like a storm internet gone wont be back for months well you just wasted money and now your CS items are gone

I agree! The cash shop in SoS is only items that expire and same with most of the Fiesta cash shop. I'd spend a lot more money on in game items if they were perm. I don't want to spend 3 bucks on something that i'll have to rebuy in a week.. Especially since it's just pixels :/

*sign* because I'd definitely prefer permanent items to timed ones, as would anyone planning to play the game long-term.

I'm not sure which is more profitable for Outspark, though. On one hand, selling timed items means they get to basically resell the same item to the same people over and over. They're also cheaper, meaning more affordable to casual players and/or people who might not play the game for a long time. On the other hand, permanent items justify a higher cost, and it's worthwhile for the player to buy more than one costume and wear both (with timed costumes in Fiesta, I only used one at a time to maximize the usage I got for my money).

eh, depends, if you want windslayer to be around long enough id expect non permenent clothing and etc.

Hmm...They could do both? An option for permanent and timed. Permanent costing slightly more obviously :)?

i wouldnt mind this but perhaps this should be in the suggestions forum... but then again they might not make enough money from this kind of thing and could close the game... so it just depends.

korean version(original) cash shop items dont expire, if they make expire i wont buy a single thing, except for x2 exp or x4 exp cards(that ones expire,of course, but is normal, like x time useable items)

having items that never expire would make ppl buy more, cause they wouldnt have to choose one set of cloths but with permanent cloths ppl would buy more cause they wouldnt have to choose one and stick with it till the cloths go poof.

there is no expiration for windslayer items bought from the cash shop. However, pets need to be constantly fed (the pet food is cash item) and there are scrolls that last for 15-30 days (double exp).

well.. at least in the korean version that is C:

I also agree that it would be a good idea.
Virtual goods are what's hot right now and people pay
to have their character look flashy, sophisticated, and so on.

I know that when I buy items in other games I would be disappointed because it
would only last for a certain time and that usually doesn't make for a happy player.

Outspark is the only gaming company ive ever seen offer any perm clothing in its cash shop at all to begin with so count your blessings n stop complaining.
All other games ive played have pets that need to be repurchased weekly or monthly, however once u bought your temporary pet, pet food has been an npc bought item in game.
Kindly remember outspark still needs to earn money to be able to run so people dont have to pay monthly fees to even log onto a game.
Things could be much worse.
The only thing i find innadequate with outspark is it's customer service... many games take 30 seconds to 10 minutes to respond to complaints...either via phone call or via online 'chat live' hosting.

If you want permanent Cash shop item, i could recommend having a couple of option ranging from few days to weeks to months to permanent. Personally, I'm a tidy freak (I'm already fury over not able to sort my item slot around) So, i could only want my Spark Item to have those item that i really want to keep. I wouldn't want to have some old spark item to stock up in my Inventory and in the end needed to sell them away ( to what? the npc?). So, buying them with a lower lifespan could maybe cost a bit cheaper than buying them on a permanent lifespan.
So, yes. I do agree that Outspark a range of Cash item lifespan and adjust the rate properly.

Uhh here is my input (and this has been said in the Solstice forums as well): If the Outspark team makes all of the items permy, then after everyone buys all of the permy items they will ever want, sc sales will drop a ton, and Outspark will go out of business. Even if the permy items cost more, it still won't work. For example, if a permy hat cost $3, and a 1 month hat cost $1.5, then what would bring more profit, the $3 hat forever, or a $1.5 every month? It would be alright if Outspark made a few permy items, but everything permy? No way.

@Blake, you forget those die-hard crazy people.
They buy every clothing set that comes out, just to have them.
Also there's special seasonal clothing that people will buy for the hell of it.
Then as well, perm clothing is good because people will have more sparkcash left over to spend on their pets and for exp boosters, and whatnot.

edit - *Sign* I hope there's a goth set I'll be able to put on my soon to be F-assassin.

Agreed. The Lucky Ball idea was actually a really clever and somewhat fair (but it works well) idea.
That way we have a possibility of getting a permentant item and they still get money to keep the game(s) going.
Unless every item in the Sparkcash Store was reeeeeally expensive, I don't see all the items becoming permenant.

Plus, I also don't want to see all the latest updates stacked with updates with "New Permentant Item!! Buy yours today!"
messages all over with a lack of actual game updates.

These are all just my thoughts and opinions of course.

Well, as simple as: no permanent, no buy. (except stuff that are supposed to be time or uses based :P). So if the clothes are not permanent, they will have at least one less user buying stuff.

True. And of course those who cannot afford Sparkcash at all.
They probably already foresaw this and decided no permanents
was a better choice.

If no one bought anything at all, Windslayer would probably discontinue.

.
.
.

Well, the sparkcash shop came today. No clothing appears to be permanent.
Each lasts 28 days which is almost... ALMOST... a month excluding February.
Surprisingly, nothing appears to be reeeeally expensive. I can buy stuff using
leftover sparkcash from my old Sparkcash Cards.

I'm not saying I'm against Permanent Equipment which would be so awesome. ><;
I'm just pointing things out.

This idea could work :o Probably since the company would think "hey if we make clothes perm then we would make less money", though in long terms they are actually raking alot more money.

I'm against perm chas shop clothing. If people want to look "better" than everyone else, they better be willing to pay for it. Less than $10 a month is a small price to pay for a bunch of clothing. (Which can also give you a fair bonus in stats, HP, exp, etc.) Don't try telling me that paying more money once will equal it out. In the long run, you will pay WAY less on perms than on temp clothing.

Also, in my oppinion, my armor looks much better than anything in the Cash Shop. I'm dissapointed that I bought the goth set with almost all the SparkCash I had when I could have spent that on something I could use like an exp boost or more of those megaphones.

Besides, all those perms will build up in your very limited inventory.

I won't buy anything from the Cash Shop except for the EXP boost. All the clothings look like c**p. On the topic of spark cash and Cash Shop, I wished they sold the prepaid cards in Asian countries like Singapore.

No, no, no Outspark won't do that!
In Secret of the Solstice they made "lucky balls"
its a small lottery where (if you are lucky) you may
receive a permanent item. There are also different things you may get
like potions, stat resets, emots etc.
I think its more possible that they do something like that
then just let people get whatever perm they want.

Not sign. Not to be "that guy," but if the clothing would be made permanent, then Outspark would begin to lose money. Then in response they would inflate the prices on buddy warps, stat resets, triple jumps, exp boosters, etc etc. And I know those are needed more than clothing.

yura_lei
07-04-2009, 10:45 AM
I'm neutral on the fact that all clothing should be permanent, but it's quite true that the weekly/monthly item span is just out of the question. The recurring purchases could add up to quite a bounty by the time you realize what you've bought over the past few days. Although I'm not a SparkShopper, I would indeed like to see some permanent items in the SC shop, but to fix the issue of going broke, they could make the permanent item[s] cost more than the average 7/30 day item value. Feel free to post ur comments and opinions.
