View Full Version : Stats on drops

Currently when a green drops it can have any possible stat:str, dex, end, int, or spr.

Problem The only class that actually uses int is the mage class.

Question Be that the case, why do fighter archer or cleric drops have the possibility of having an int stat on them? It just devalues the item

Solution set it to where only mage drops have the chance of getting an int stat on them. This will increase the chances of having a usefull item..

Example of a bad item 50 fighter top w/ +25int .. Though the stat is capped, the stat is int, which is useless for a fighter. So it offers no possible benefit to the fighter

Vote above if you think that only mage items should have the chance of having an int stat on them

P.S. have the same thing w/ mage gears having str which is utterly useless for a mage

I like it. Mages are the only class that don't need str, and the only class that needs int.
But my cleric gets a lot of int greens, it's annoying. =\

In my opinion they should fix that stats for each class' drop, but I don't expect it to happen. Getting greens isn't easy if you're not in abyss a ton...so when you do get the greens they should at least be useful. >_<

i never completely understood the point of int vs str ok they're trying to make it seem proper (mages need int because they use magic vs others physically attack so they need str) but since int has no other benefit than to increase a mage's attack strength, why bother having it in the first place, if int increased another stat (mdef might make sense) then ok you could justify having a seperate stat (int) but atm it would be much better all round if str & int were made one and the same (called att or dmg or power etc) that way mages wouldnt have to worry about getting str stated items and vice versa for the other classes, a power stat would be good for anyone

because mages dont use physical attacks which is what str increases. therefore its useless

mages use magic which int increases the damage of

maybe you should read what i said before posting against it
i said grouping str and int into one stat so that a so called stat called power for example would boost both dmg and mdmg, effects all 4 classes and wont give any unfair bonuses because 3 classes never use int and, lets face it, when was the last time you saw a mage grinding by only hitting things?

apologies i didnt read your post all the way. hmm that would be an interesting idea but it would allow for a heavier build that would give you a massive increase in dmg. I doubt that OS would do that

how do you figure that?
scenario 1: fighter who likes a str build
puts points in power, so including the normal extra damage you'd get from if it was a str up you get extra mdmg from the int part of power, useless because i fighter doesnt make use mdmg to attack

scenarios 2&3: cleric and archer, same as fighter

scenario 4: mage who likes high int build, like the fighter but opposite, will gain the benefit of the int from getting power to increase mdmg but the extra dmg from str wont make any difference since mages arent exactly prone to hitting things, therefore the extra dmg goes to waste

so where's the massive increase in dmg?

that would be roughly the same thing I am suggesting accept that the way the game works would have to be re-written. What would happen to drops that already have int or str on them that are in someone's possession? They would need to be re-written themselves. It would be way too much of a hassle to impliment. My idea is a lil simpler. All they would need to do is mod the drop generator

i understand the idea and its a good one, i was just giving another one ^^

Actually, INT ISN'T 100% useless to non mages. It does boost mdef, which for fighters, anything you can get in that department isn't a bad thing. If anything would need to be removed, it'd have to be STR on mage drops, but even then it isn't completely 'useless' to a mage. Technically, it does raise their strength and damage, but often mages don't ever autoattack.

why npc a noob-statted item when you can make a fortune off of a good one......

If so many good ones drop... you wont make a fortune, cause anyone can pick up good ones... no one would buy them off you.

just because you get a godly item doesnt mean that someone else will. This simply erases the chance of int being on a drop that isnt for a mage. Tht doesnt change the odds of an item being more godly. It changes the odds of an item being useless or not to a certain class.

You Guys Have NO Idea what Youre Talking About =D

Int Is Good For Fighters Right Now, You Just need to know HOW To Use it =).

Also At Later levels It comes the MAGIC Aoe's for cleric/warrior And INT will be useful.

Nei has the ability to use any kind of skills he wants...seeing as we are based on that version of fiesta, there currently isnt an AoE cleric super killy spell yet.

o-0 int is for magic-based spells. So far fighters only use physically-based spells. So...... how is int good for fighters right now....?

adf1falken

and even if the int thing didnt work for fighters what about mages getting drops w/ str on them... NO matter what the mages dont not use any physical attack so theres no reason against doing at least that.

most drops i get r with int and dex o.e i dont use neither of them u.u.... but changing the drops stats would be kinda unfair >.>'

May as well leave it...if a mage can get a gear with str then all the other classes should have to get gear with int...besides...its like I said erlier....Pure Int Fighter FTW!!!!!! xD

bumpity bump * btw it doesnt give an unfair advantage... it simply lessens the chance of getting a drop w/ a useless stat on it....
