Mentor System?

So what is it about? I learned from the game that it gives bonus exp to mentees and novices, so mentors actually benefit nothing?

Mentors get the honors of having those under their wing and are to help others :D

Actually, I honestly don't know if there's any benefit in it for the mentor... No one looks up to me, so I don't have any mentees :D

There has to be some benefit for the Mentors because i've been seeing too many people shamelessly begging for newbs to add them as a Mentor to the point where it's obvious that they dont care who adds them or for what reason, just as long as they add them. I doubt they're doing it just to "help" the newbies with an exp bonus. There's gotta be a catch.

There is. Mentors gain a small amount of exp from the monsters the mentee kills and vice versa. I was mentoring someone and I noticed that I gained some exp even in town.

Haha so that's why....now it all makes sense. Lazy slackers at every game you go to lol....wanting noobs to lvl them up instead of doing it theirselves...God why do we have to share the world with such pathetic people >_>

Whats good about this is i got about 20ish menti i get like 133 exp per each kill they get =)

How's that possible? You can only have one mentee at a time. Plus, unless they decide to not class change at lvl 10, novices usually cant kill things that would give you 133 exp since the mentor only gets around 10% of the exp from their kills.

gain about 2x more then the mentees kill the monsters thus the mentees still get 20% bonus exp so we are all happy whats the problem?

You can't level from mentoring..... you would have to have a thousand under your wing. You can only mentor novices, and they don't kill mobs that give a lot of exp. So 36k exp would be hard to get from mentoring ( lv 17-18 I believe).

...Read it again i said MENTIMeaning students...And even if they job change from novice they are still your MENTI i got a lvl 27 priest feeding me about 166 exp per each kill and i party her =) so its like spam exp!

Yeah i've gotten about 50k exp from my mentees so far...

Yes, having menti helps in grinding level. But, there is always some people who shamelessly just wants people to mentor them. I have been hanging around popola village nowadays and helping new-comers (Cause of Akamasu), There's always people running around there spamming message or setting up playhouse telling people to mentor them. I always explain to the newbies everything about the Mentor's system before they even mentor me. Furthermore, if they "Mentor" me, i make a habit to help all of them out if there is a need.

I'm one of those people who "shamlessly" set up a playhouse. And anyone who enters my room I always explain before I ask them to mentor. I also frequently answer their questions and help them out. Please, don't assume everyone who mentor's completely ignores their duty.
