I just started playing last week, and the only issue I've had with the game were mages. the game flows beautifully, the scaling of exp to creatures and level of skills and quests is just exceptional, but MAGES. they make me angry. >_>

This may jsut be lower tier standardized PvP, but mages dominate it. A team of three mages could annihilates a team of 6 others (non-mages, of course) without much effort beyond running and casting once or twice every minute. I'd figure they would crumble under the weaknesses on mages, which I always figured was bad stamina and defenses. Which, on comparison to other classes, isnt very different. I'm actually In pvp right now, and I took a minute to complain.

Know the cooldown of their skills and try to predict when they are going to cast. Knowing this, they are vulnerable after the spell is casted (assuming the spell miss) and will have to use their weaker spell to defend. Know how to block and evade (jumping) their attack. If you simply rushed in front of them and hope you will likely get to strike first, the mage behind the target you hit will have the chance to attack you with ease.

Mages are just as equal as everyone else in PvP, they ain't hard at all. Gotta have patience and attack when it is the right to do so.

I know it can be hard sometimes fighting mages, but with the right strategy they can be beaten. It's a little easier said then done if you are just playing with a group of random people though.

Personally, I'm a monk, and I have bad defenses. So me getting hit by a mage is a good 1/4th of my HP in one spell. Worse off, I deal mediocre damage with my skills. I have a near frustrating time trying to fight mages- Archers are easier to catch on the rebound than them, and the do about twice as much with half the effort.

Mages have just as hard of a time too. People jump around, our attacks miss (especially fire). If we get attacked whilst casting, the attack cancels. We also have a time after casting where we can't move, and that's usually when I end up getting hit. Also, because the skills have cool down, sometimes I don't notice that it hasn't cooled down and I continue to press the button only to realize that it hasn't cooled down and the person got away :/
