Twice now I have encountered a mob that I haven't seen in any of the mob databases on any of the fansites.
It lives in Echo Cave and is called a "Huge Phinoflie." It looks just like a regular Phinoflie, except for that it's ... uhhhh ... huge. It's also a little harder to kill.
I didn't get any info on it because it startled me and I was happy just to snap a picture of it.

There was a Huge Greenky in Elven Forest for a few days and now it's gone. The most curious thing is that it was called a "Hero Monster" rather than the usual General, Elite or Chief. I'd also like to know about these mobs.

Oh! I shall definitely be hunting that one. I noticed there's a rare mob in Burning Hills called Dreamer Kebing or something to that extent. Hard to solo, and I'm assuming this Phino girl you encountered will be just as bad. I can't wait to take her on.

Speaking of "hero" monsters, I did see a Hero Slime, but I don't know if that is considered rare or if anyone would care (because slimes seem pretty common).

I'm talking about the face under the mobs HP that you can scroll over. Hero Slime is a General Monster.

All these rare spawns that u peeps prolly saw are the so called "Silver bordered" mobs that players of WoW commonly know them as. They are not quest mobs, but a random spawn that appears every once in awhile on random maps. They usually drop a green/blue item or a nice elrue/lix/xir. Hope that helps abit in solving the mystery. :)

As for dropping items, the Huge Phino drops what every non-quest mob drops in Echo Cave.

Saw the kebing dreamer again today, it was 3 underlings with him, grabbed a nearby lvl 24 cleric to help & charged in. Killed him easily, as a 29 cleric I could have taken all 4 of them it seems, only dropped some potions & normal materials.

lol, of cos i forgot to mention the occassional hiccups bout these "special" mobs. They have a chance to drop something good, but u might also end up with nothing at all. This is how games usually work, got to have that surprise element still ;)

I've run into the Mutant Wolf twice... first time my friend killed it, got a Mutant Wolf Bow. Second time, I killed it and got the MW Broadsword. Both nice weapons.
I am aware of a "King Boogy" that spawns from time to time, but have never run into him. As a noob I did get killed (in one swipe) by a "Sand Mushroom" on Tides. That one was around for a few days and then gone.
Gotta admit, they make life interesting..lol.

Thats because someone killed it. It usually takes around 6 hours to respawn after its been killed IIRC. Same time it take for a treasure chest to respawn.

just a little explanation of these mobs
like explained before,
there are different types of mobs here in fiesta.
the general ones you see all the time,
the hero mobs (usually with the name mutant, giant, huge, what have you)
the elite mobs (a little harder but the same kind)
and the chief mobs (those are the bosses)
mutant wolf, dreamer kebing, speeder kebing, knight boogey etc. they're just the tip of the iceberg.
every map would have a few elites standing around and only 1 hero. sometimes a boss as well. Each time you kill them, i'd say it takes about 5-6 hours to respawn again
like for how we see Mutant Zombies at the left side of the Moonlight Tomb near the mining area too.
you'll understand a little more when you start seeing Mutant Bats, Mutant Ratmans, King Torturers, Giant Golden Bats or even Giant Stonies when you get higher in your level.
oh and for the record, sand mushroom is a general mob found in goblin camp.

Yesterday i saw (and killed) 2 hero mobs.
The first was the Mutant Zombie and his 3 zombie friends in Vine Tomb. He seemed to drop more than a normal mob, but really nothing special....and the xp wasn't anything special either.
The second was the Kebing's Dream and his 3 Kebing buddys in Burning Hill. this one dropped nothing and only gave me 1 xp, I would assume due to my level.
I hunted for the Huge Phinophile, but never found her, however I can only assume she would have yielded no reward either due to my level.
And one final thing, when leveling up, going through my quests some time ago, i did run across a Boogie that was like ten time the normal size, and have never seen one again...I didn't think much of it then, but thinking back, i bet this was a Hero mob too.
I'll keep looking, and post anything i find here, and I hope you'll do the same.....
Happy Hunting!

A lvl 46 with IGN "Evade" has started a list of all the mobs discussed in this post. It's on the fiestafan fansite:
http://www.fiestafan.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1826
He says basically the same thing as groovey, but he provides coordinates and drops. For example, he claims the "Kebing's Dream" spawns at B5 on the Burning Hill map and drops a crossbow. I don't have enough experience to know if this is an oversimplification or not.
The Huge Phinoflie I bumped into had these icons:
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee151/zugzwang641/HugePhinoflieIcons.jpg
Is the icon on the left a Hero mob icon? I didn't think to move my mouse over the icon before dispatching this cutie, and this is the only Hero mob I've ever encountered. I think. I know the icon on the right means "Elemental Monster." And, like I said, she didn't drop anything.

I've encountered
Huge greenkey
Huge phinoflie
Kebring's Dream
mutant zombie
Mutant Wolf
King Werebear
King Boogey
and a few others, all drop green weapons, usually 3 stat starting at lvl 15 and +18 total stats and go upwards from there.
Thing is either they come out when I'm sleeping or only appear every couple days, because, I only find 1 of them every 1-2 days.

I've killed the Huge Phinoflie twice. Once she dropped 3 LQ copper, 3 Normal, 2 HQ, 2 topaz, and a Lucky Lix[2]. The second time she dropped 1 LQ, 1 normal, and one HQ copper. The difference in the two tries was that the first time she was either yellow or green, and the second she was grey. So, I am assuming that your level relative to the monsters help to determine what drops you get, much like with normal monsters.

In Echo Cavern, I ran across a little nasty that killed me QUICK (2 hits).
ArchMage Book *something or other* I don't know for sure...I may go back in there and lose another 50 XPs just to see what it was....;)
I'd hit it, but am usually dead within a step or two after it hits me the first time and my pots just don't spam, that fast...;)
It's a magical attack, ranged, whatever it is....

I managed to get another, better and less deadly (hehe) look at it.
It is called a Cave Archmage Book....it was red (deadly) to me at lvl 18.
However.....460 pts of damage in a single magic bolt strikes me as something around lvl 30...NOT 22, so I tend to follow the suggestion of AdamWest on this one. It is definitely the stronger of the 2 varieties.
I found a cave mage book as well...hit me for like 225....I got close to killing it (got it down to 20-25%) when I ran too low to keep using HP pots, so I beat feet.
I went into Echo caves from BOTH ends......I came across the flying books only when I entered from the Sandy Beach side.

Its a Elite Grade monster which means its stronger than other enemies but its the same level as the enemies
Elite Grade Monster you can solo but it takes longer to kill them. All dungeon monsters are Elite Grade except the one at the end which is the boss and the boss is Chief Grade.
Chief Grade monsters cant be soloed even if they are yellow for you. These monsters are for parties only.

Yes, it's just like the other non-elite monsters too: they drop much when their grade is red or yellow and their drops get less as your level (or the one killing the monster) is getting closer to the monster level. Green enemies drop lesser and grey ones seldom drop anything. So the chance to get one of those special weapons is highest with yellow and red enemies. Next time you should grab a low level mage and let him kill her! :D

Their respawn time is insanely long. I know King Werebear takes 6 or 8 hours (I'm pretty sure it's 8 though) to respawn, so it might be the same for the others.

Info to u guys,
Hero Monsters are differst from Elite in ways that they are accompanied with other mob as if being appreciate by the Hero monster,
Hero Monsters could be monsters that you dont see most of the time, these monsters only respawn every 5 hourse, examples of Hero Monsters..
Hint: Hero monsters drop a percentage of 20% Green wepon drop that has 6% Critical rate called (Thunder), for example Thunder roumen sword, Thunder Roumen bow, Thunder Cydar wand and the wepon has a destiguished shape even not sold in shops, I got a mage item once the shape of LV20 cane does look like a LV30 wand.
1. Mutant Wolf (Forest of Mist) Near boogy area D8/ D9/ D10
2. King Boogy (Sea of Greed), F7 , F6 , F8
3. Kebings Dream (Burning Hill) B5 or on the verry top most passage of the map
4.Mutant Zombie ( Moonlight tomb) , E1 roumurs say you can find him at VT
5. King Wearbear (Goblin camp), on top most left corner where ogers are B1, A3 , B5
6. Giant Greenky (Anciant Elven woods), near entrance or near spiral way to FOS
I think this is enough information for now regarding this stuff..
so keep on the watch for this mob and if you are equiped with Fiesta Item shop " Gather" ur in for a big surprise, for cool gren drops and oh for your information I got my First roumen ring from King wearbear in GC.
