MentorSystem : Fact or False?

Hey,Novice and/or Mentis.
Do you remember when your Mentor said you'll get free EXP?
Well,he/she completely lied to you!

Mentis do NOT,iRepeat..DO NOT get any EXP whatsoever.
Only Mentors do.
So,there isn't a really good reason to add a Mentor because its broken for the moment.

The best thing about is about these "High Levels.."
Some/Group of the "High level[s]" aren't even good Mentors.
They just lie to the "Novices" then sometimes get turned into "Menti."
Then,they do as they like while the "Mentis" basically help their Mentor level up.

If you've been victim of this by being lied towards to.
GoodLuck,mate.You just wasted your mentor space if they aren't active with you.

We should be able switch/change Mentor by some amount of Fee or something once you've chosen a job/class[NOT "NOVICE"]

Yea your right, my friend who still lvl10 no class adv, yet has added me as a mentor since lvl3 or something, and he dont get nothing!
i dont have a clue if its meant to be like that or not, tell me please! :)

They do get 20% more EXP.
you can try it,
1. create a Novice.
2. Kill a mob that gives you 10EXP.
3. Get a Mentor.
4. Kill the same mob.
5. You'll get 12EXP (20% EXP increase).

I've gotten more than 20% exp from the mobs that a mentee kills. Mentee gets 0 exp from mobs that the mentor kills, which if I guessed right, is meant for the mentee to reach level 10 quickly. There is a 20% exp gain for mobs that mentee's kill.

I do believe that says both the mentees and the mentors receive an exp boost. That right there invalidates your initial claim. This plus Oriya's test are evidence toward the +20% exp boost. Not to mention I've yet to see a GM deny the claims for bonus experience.

Well, I've had a mentor on both of my characters (one was a valid mentor, a person helped me out a lot and asked me to add them and I gratefully did, they deserve it :) the other was my friend who I ran into on a new character) and never got exp from my mentor on either so you're right. Perhaps it's glitched.

Actually, if you're a novice, you absolutely WANT to add a mentor, because you get 20% more for every monster you kill, and the bonus seems to be permanent. You don't get any special message to show you it is working, your exp totals for your kills are just higher.

This is actually one major gripe with the mentor system - people who didn't choose a mentor before changing class or people who removed their mentor are at a permanent disadvantage getting exp in later levels.
