Well I've noticed a lot of comparisons to Ragnarok Online, but I haven't played it, so there will be no comparisons to RO in this little spiel.
So far I like the graphics of the game and the top down scheme. I only have a middle end computer and I run this game with details set to the highest and I have no lag or glitching. Everything moves fluidly and the level of detail set into the environment is pleasing. I like the detailed item descriptions and the inventory system in general. I'm also pleased with the stat distribution system and being able to customize my character to my taste.
The character models are somewhat varied, but with the costumes I've seen the customization between characters is noticable and makes the game more interesting. If I'm playing a game, I wanna look cool in it.
There are only a few problems I've ran into. In my quest description for "Learn the basics of the scroll" the description isn't finished, so I was a little lost for a while. There are quite a few spelling errors, which are really a minor thing I think.
I dislike the clicking scheme to move. Even after years of Diablo 2 and Ultima Online, I just never get into the clicking scheme; which both offer alternative ways to move. I think SoS should also have an alternative way to move, even if it's the arrow keys or wasd keys. It's kind of hard to run away from a monster chasing you when you constantly stop while running, and that is with the left click held down, it's like you stop at certain points are keep alternating between running right, straight, left, straight even though the mouse is held directly inline in the direction that I want my character to move.
I've also seen where other people have said being able to see NPCs on the mini map at all times, as well as NPCs showing when they have quests available, and I completely agree with them. Sometimes there is a long list of quests I can accept from the SoS Guardian Angel and I kind of forget each NPC to see with a long list. Just an icon above their heads, or perhaps a different color on the mini map would be suitable.
I've gotten to 16 and gotten my first job change, so I'm not that far into it, these are just initial opinions. However, I'm keeping my eye out for bugs and glitches I encounter. I'll make sure to report any and all I find.
