Hello person who decided to click on this thread... hopefully it means you're interested in possibly joining Holy_VanGuards (HVG).
In the last 2-3weeks, I've realised that life at HVG has got a bit quiet due to several factors.
1. We have lost a large number of players to *ahem* a certain other game, including some of my Admins sadly. I'm sure most of you know the name, I don't (and indeed am not allowed to) mention it. This has left quite a hole, 10 or more people (I have yet to work out the "damage").
2. A number of our capped players (such as PantherKing, IceSkorpion, kipikol) are effectively retired until cap raise.
3. Some others have literally disappeared without warning (where has Yuyko gone? *sadface*).
4. Others are spending a lot of time on alts.
This has meant that at least 10 spots, if not more have opened up in HVG, quite a novelty since recently I've had to struggle to find someone to ban to add a new person! And, being the pro-active sorta person I am, I'd love to fill them ^_^.
So, interested? Then please, the next few paragraphs are VERY IMPORTANT for you to read. At HVG we do have a set of standards that we try to keep to, to keep the name of HVG as a reputable one (although bear in mind that we are human and will make mistakes). Instead of being boring and writing some silly list this time, I thought I'd have a bit more fun ^_^.
Why Join Us? The HVG Standards
We understand that a choice of Guild is not a decision taken lightly by many. Therefore, let me try to convince you why HVG is made of awesome ^^. Here is a recorded conversation between a Pirate HVG member and a prospective HVG member. I take no responsibility for the following content. ;).

Prospective HVG Member (from now on referred to as P HVG M because I'm lazy and don't want to write it out all the time): So, hi!
Pirate HVG: Oooo arrrr hi matey!
P HVG M: So, tell me, why should I join HVG as opposed to all the other wonderful guilds out there?
Pirate HVG: Arrr! Well let me tell ye! Even though I be a pirate, I be a good 'un. We don't do such scallywag things such as KS, acting like a ruffian, leeching those KQs or in general misbehaving in such a way that would look poor on the ol' flag of HVG. If ye be seein' an HVG doin' such a scoundrel thing then please, send in screenie to Cap'n Aerythia and she'll have 'em to Davey Jones Locker, aye!
P HVG M: Well, I quite like the sound of that! Tell me, will I be forced to level on-pain-of-death? Will I be thrown out for not being a CS-user or for not being strong enough?
Pirate HVG: Arrrrrrr such nonsense! We be fine honourable people, we dun have any need to be strong I say. Enjoy a fine brew with us, sit down and watch the fishes, no need to be all at sea thinking ye need to levellin' once a day! But, be under no illusion... ye can't go missin' forever and be thinkin' that Capn Aerythia will be not makin ye walk the plank if so. Just let the good Capn know first!
P HVG M: Well that sounds fair enough I suppose! So, what's HVG view on GW?
Pirate HVG: Well if any scurvy dawgs dare lay a claim to the good ship HVG, all hands on deck I say! We defend our honour and pride to the last man! However, a slight to the good name of HVG may cause our wrath to decend upon you. Although, no matter how wretched tha' scurvy dawg may be, the honourable HVG will not touch their treasure stores, less they be plunderin ours first! We don' touch any AFK scoundrels either, unless they do the same to our poor lil' blighters.
Aerythia: Although sadly, the outside healing rules mean that we don't war half as often as we would like to. However, to interrupt everyone's grinding to squish some infidel for 50minutes is no longer the most popular choice. Generally, I will ask people to take any personal grievances to an FBZ - I'm sorry but with a guild this big sometimes we just have to take the moral high ground and ignore the taunts of some petty low-lifes not worth out attention.
P HVG M: Ah yes I can see how the outside healing rule can be a huge pain for big guilds such as yours. However I still haven't made my mind up. Could I visit your guild to check it out?
Pirate HVG: Well tha' be a fine idea. Sure, come aboard for a while, get ye sea legs and see what ye think of this glorious crew. All hands on deck in HVG. If ye decide we rascals are jus' not tha ones for ye, then just let the Capn know and we'll give ye a jolly send-off at tha next port!

Pirate HVG: Arrr... well HVG be one of them 70+ guilds ye see. Bu' I be gettin' word from the Capn tha for this pressgangin'... err I mean recruitin', she'll be lettin those who be 60+ in if they can be provin' to her to be honourable individuals! But, she will be favourin' those 70+ an she also says.. Oooooh arrr! Wait no, she dun be sayin' tha! She be saying tha there be many mid 7x HVGs who arrrrr grindin' in tha' forsaken TR fer now. So should ye be around tha level, ye would be findin' good crew fer tha place with us. An' HVG dun care what class ye be. HVG cares more fer ye chatty and friendly souls who can be addin' some new life to this crew.
