View Full Version : Why Don't You Death Match?

Just curious why not many people join Death Match. Except for the night time frame, it's impossible to get even half a team on there. Even then, it fills up slowly and sporadically. Given that Death Match gives you more play time, balances better (well, marginally--it has a tendency to put the majority of ranged attackers on the same team) and provides WAY more WSP than arena for elapsed play time, can someone point out why they prefer arena? The only things I can come up with are extreme impatience or a desire to kill more inexperienced players for ego-gratification. If the last part is true, trust me when I say that they show up in Death Match as well. I'm proof of that.

I got in, we kicked the other team's butt, they promptly left. The l337ist players never stick around for when they lose, even though they're the ones who encourage people to join it.

That is true for some of them. I have seen high rank players run away because they are concerned about their loss count or some pansy excuse, I'm sure. At least the system adjusts the player count and tags people in from time to time (although I think that's actually a bug). I'd say to give it another few tries.

A bit off topic, Soavi, but I got some screenshots of a double Ted situation with two golems dancing on opposite sides of the same platform. I forgot I had gmail open in the background so I won't post them, but I'll try to PM you the pics or something :-P

Here's another reason to play Death Match. You know how you get in a fight and your whole team dies off (including you) and one person runs for the next three minutes, thereby securing you 0-2 points, a loss and wasting a huge amount of your play time?

(Note: just had this happen to the opposing team. I apologized to them on behalf of their lone remaining member who refused to even 1v1 against any of the five of us to finish it up)

That doesn't happen in Death Match. Not only do you get more play time, more WSP and an interesting map, but if your team members just perpetually run, you still get to re-spawn and rejoin the fray. Yet another reason to Death Match.

You know whats wrong with Deathmatch? Many people do not know it exist, or does not know what it really was. They should've placed it along with pvp, when hosting a pvp game, the option to join a deathmatch game should be there. I pressed battlefield before, but the button to join one was like invisible to me, cause I was not paying attention. It needs more exposure, I just started today and I love it, way more then standard pvp. Its so fun ;D. Even if you lose, you get rewarded very well. Awesome.

Agreed. It took me a few days to figure out that I had to hit the 'T' key to find the dialog.
